Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 489: You’re So Angry Because of Me
Stayed at home until after nine. Audrey Sutton didn’t eat much during dinner, so she had a late-night snack before leaving.
In the car, Audrey Sutton said she wanted to drink sour plum soup. Shane Warner didn’t find it bothersome at all and drove around town late at night to buy it for her.
Audrey Sutton thought that she might be treated like a little ancestor now, not knowing if the little one in her belly would be in the future.
Seeing how Shane Warner acted after finding out she was pregnant, she felt if she asked for the stars in the sky, he’d try to get them for her.
However, Audrey Sutton didn’t take pride in this, knowing she was just benefiting from the child.
She feared that once the child was born, her status might plummet.
In the car, Audrey Sutton sat in the passenger seat, looking down at her phone and chatting with Flora Lane when suddenly Shane Warner asked, "Do you have classes tomorrow morning?"
Audrey Sutton nodded, "Yes, morning classes, it’s my brother’s."
Shane Warner: "Can you take leave?"
Audrey Sutton turned her head to look at him, "Why?"
Shane Warner: "Take you to the hospital for a check-up."
Audrey Sutton: "I just had a check-up a few days ago."
Shane Warner: "I wasn’t there last time, and I didn’t ask the doctor about dietary restrictions. I need to keep a close eye on you; no more eating whatever you want."
Audrey Sutton laughed, "Don’t worry, my brother made a detailed list for me. I’ll send you a copy later."
Then, Audrey Sutton remembered what she was chatting about with Flora Lane earlier and asked Shane Warner, "Hey, what do you think of Mor Joe?"
Shane Warner glanced at her and asked, with a tone neither warm nor cold, "Why are you asking about him?"
Audrey Sutton: "You just need to answer me. Do you know how many girlfriends he has had before?"
Shane Warner snorted with a mocking tone, "Him?"
Audrey Sutton: "What’s up? Does he have a lot of past romances despite looking honest?"
Shane Warner couldn’t help but laugh again and said, "Let me put it this way, Faye Xavier used to think Mor liked Luc."
Audrey Sutton: "Huh?"
As a fujoshi, Audrey Sutton forgot about Flora’s happiness and eagerly pursued the topic, "Quick, tell me what went on between them?"
Shane Warner: "What went on? You take Faye Xavier’s words seriously? They’re twins, grew up together, and are of an age where they both haven’t married yet and live together. Faye Xavier just guessed wildly. What I’m saying is, Mor doesn’t really interact with women, so where would the love history come from?"
Hearing there’s no story between Mor and Luc, a hint of disappointment flashed in Audrey Sutton’s eyes, but then she felt relieved for Flora and said, "So what do you think of him and Flora?"
Shane Warner: "Only they know how they are; don’t meddle. Why are you so young and already thinking of being a matchmaker?"
Audrey Sutton: "It’s not me hooking them up; it’s Mor chasing Flora."
Shane Warner paused for a moment, then chuckled and murmured, "So the iron tree blooms too; he actually knows to chase a girl."
Audrey Sutton rolled her eyes at him, "You guys are about the same, and you still look down on Mor Joe. If I hadn’t graciously married you, you’d be a bachelor for life. Mor Joe is much more romantic than you, buying a company just to make Flora’s work easier, and then..."
Shane Warner: "When did he buy a company? He didn’t even notify me."
Audrey Sutton: "That’s not the point! Besides, why should he notify you if he’s spending his own money? I’m telling you to learn something!"
Shane Warner: "Why learn? I won’t use it."
Audrey Sutton: "Don’t you know how to adapt? I’m telling you to learn some romance! Mor Joe confessed to Flora, but Flora hasn’t agreed yet, so Mor Joe sent flowers to the company the next day."
Shane Warner: "That’s called pestering; it bothers people. Haven’t I seen enough of that at my company? Lots of people with luxury cars bringing flowers to confess to girls below my office. If the girl likes you, great, you both leave happily. If not, it’s harassment, with flowers thrown and cars smashed—it gets ugly."
Audrey Sutton felt it was two different things and rolled her eyes before turning to look out the window, muttering, "I don’t want to talk to you."
Shane Warner: "Stay out of other people’s business."
Audrey Sutton: "Stop the car." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Shane Warner turned to look at her, "You’re angry because I said a couple of things?"
Before Audrey Sutton could speak, she suddenly covered her mouth, and seeing this, Shane Warner immediately pulled over. Audrey Sutton rushed out of the car and squatted on the roadside, vomiting...
Shane Warner quickly walked to her side. Normally, he wouldn’t get near this kind of vomit, but right now, he only felt heartache for her.
Having not eaten much tonight already, she now vomited it all out.
In the end, she was just dry heaving.
Shane Warner gently patted her back, "Feeling better?"
Audrey Sutton took the tissue from his hand and wiped her mouth. Shane Warner quickly grabbed a bottle of mineral water from the car for her to rinse her mouth.
"When did the vomiting start? Was it like this before?" Shane Warner felt uneasy not being by her side when she was like this.
Audrey Sutton stood up after taking a breather and said, "This is the first time I’ve reacted like this."
Finally, she added, "It’s all your fault for making me angry!"
Shane Warner chuckled and rubbed her head, "Weren’t you pretty good at tolerating anger before?"
Audrey Sutton glared at him and opened the car door to get back inside.
After vomiting, she genuinely felt uncomfortable and suddenly became quiet, just looking out the window without speaking.
Luckily, they soon arrived home. He told her to go shower and sleep. She lay on the bed, saying she needed to rest, and let him shower first.
By the time he came out of the bathroom, just a few minutes later, she had already fallen asleep wrapped in a blanket, her coat still on.
Seeing her like this, Shane Warner couldn’t bear to wake her up, so he gently removed her coat and tucked her in.
Standing by the bed, looking at her slightly flushed face, he felt that no matter how much time passed, she could always make his heart flutter over and over again.
Thinking about the "study session" he’d been looking forward to for days now ruined, Shane Warner felt a bit regretful, realizing he wouldn’t be seeing her dressed as a little bunny anytime soon.
But the arrival of the little one in her belly made up for it in a way. He thought he’d endure it for ten months; after all, it had already been more than a month.
He thought about how to properly take care of Audrey Sutton. Shane Warner previously had no knowledge about pregnancy at all.
Taking advantage of Audrey Sutton being asleep, he sat in front of the computer, researching a lot of information about pregnancy and taking notes as he read, even noting the smallest details seriously.
During this pregnancy, he couldn’t bear any pain for her but could only try his best to take care of her in these matters.
