Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 461: Shouldn’t You Recharge Me Too?
Audrey Sutton was updating her X post in the evening when she accidentally saw the news of Nolan Hawke’s death.
Many celebrities who had worked with him started posting tributes about his passing, quickly pushing the topic "The Handsomest Photographer, Fare Well" to the top of the hot searches.
Audrey Sutton was a bit puzzled, only seeing everyone mourning Nolan Hawke, but no X post revealed the cause of Nolan Hawke’s death, as if everyone in the circle knew he died, but no one knew how he died.
And why would such news suddenly come out of nowhere? Could it be karma for the bad deeds?
Audrey turned around, picked up the charging phone from the table, and was about to discuss this in the dormitory group, to see if Seraphina Vaughn, the know-it-all, had some inside information.
But thinking about Barry Barrett and Nolan Hawke having some past, discussing this in the group might not be appropriate. What’s unexpected is, the dormitory group was already bustling, all "99+" messages were about Nolan Hawke’s death, and Barry was the one who started the topic by sharing an X post in the group. Seeing her gossiping enthusiasm, she clearly was already indifferent to Nolan Hawke, purely just watching the spectacle.
Audrey flipped through the chat records, all were guesses without any substantive information, even Seraphina Vaughn had no clue about this matter, clearly, it seemed like someone deliberately kept it under wraps, sealing the news tightly.
"Click——" The bathroom door behind her opened, Shane Warner came out wiping his head with a towel.
Audrey Sutton sat on the edge of the bed looking at her phone, researching Nolan Hawke’s cause of death, not even glancing at Shane Warner.
Shane Warner, dissatisfied with her neglect, picked up the towel in his hand and threw it toward Audrey Sutton, the soggy towel landing directly on Audrey Sutton’s head.
Audrey Sutton took off the towel, looked up and glared at him, asking, "What’s going on?"
Shane Warner walked toward her, asking, "What are you doing? Is your phone that interesting?"
Audrey Sutton’s mind turned, she shifted closer to Shane Warner, asked him, "Do you know that Nolan Hawke died?"
Shane Warner: "Who?"
Audrey Sutton: "That photographer who took pictures for us last time, he died, now it’s all over the internet."
Shane Warner: "If he’s dead, he’s dead, it’s not your business to worry about."
Audrey Sutton: "You don’t know, this thing is strange, everyone knows he died, but no one knows how he died, whether it was illness, accident, or suicide, not a single clue."
Shane Warner frowned at her, reached over and took the phone from her hand, closed the page and tossed it on the nearby bed, saying, "It’s not your business to be curious about, have you watched too many mystery dramas lately? Acting all weird, rather use the time to take good care of your husband."
Audrey Sutton smiled at him, "How would you like to be taken care of?"
Shane Warner seemed to have had ideas for a while, his eyes glanced toward the wardrobe, and he said with an earnest tone, "Weren’t there several sets of little clothes you bought earlier? You haven’t tried them on for me yet."
Audrey Sutton only acted playfully but looking at Shane Warner seemingly ready for real action, she didn’t dare tease him anymore, she silently reached for her phone, lifted the blanket and crawled inside, lazily saying, "Very tired, will wear for you later when there’s time."
Shane Warner eyed her, "Tired then sleep, what playing with the phone?"
Audrey Sutton lay on the bed, scrolling her phone while she answered him, "I have a bold assumption, I suspect Nolan Hawke’s death has something to do with your female alumna, I need to ask someone to confirm."
Watching her, Shane Warner felt a piece of phone seemed more appealing to her than him, feeling annoyed, wanting to create something that would attract her attention.
Thinking about how she wasn’t like this before, she was constantly around him regardless of anything, spent even minimal time visiting him at the company and recently she didn’t even deliver meals as she used to, seemed like he wasn’t as valued anymore.
It’s been such a short time, less than two years, his status fell from being influential to the dust?
Audrey Sutton had no idea what Shane Warner was thinking, she was completely immersed in her curious thoughts.
She messaged her second brother about Nolan Hawke’s matter but her second brother said that the case was not his assignment nor his responsibility, he hadn’t heard any unusual talk from the bureau, thus he was not very well-informed.
Audrey Sutton thought, even her second brother at the police station had no info, this confidentiality work must have been too strict.
The more confidential, the more it indicates problems.
Quinn also said the circle was tightly monitored, peers dare not discuss this matter, seemed to be preemptively dealt with, regarding Nolan Hawke, not even daring to mention, regretting not continuing to follow Clarissa Morgan and Nolan Hawke these days, thinking might still have caught some explosive news.
Audrey Sutton had previously sent Quentin Sterling photos after which told Quinn no longer to follow Clarissa Morgan, partly feeling there’s leverage sufficient for Quentin Sterling to see Clarissa Morgan’s true colors.
The last pictures she sent were mild in content, with Clarissa Morgan’s wit surely was enough to deceive, her real motive was to show Clarissa Morgan she possessed the evidence, the photos were merely reminders, also an opportunity for her to repent.
If Clarissa Morgan further maintained her position as Mrs. Sterling, she wouldn’t trouble her on this matter any longer.
At present regarding Nolan Hawke, no evidence directly tied to Clarissa Morgan, only the two being close, trouble naturally implicates together.
In the evening, Clarissa Morgan’s studio also posted a tribute for Nolan Hawke on X, unknown if it’s mere formality or trying to cover something.
Audrey Sutton held her phone, watching forums where experts analyzed bizarre findings about this matter, deeply engrossed when suddenly something warm pressed against her back.
Turning her head, she saw Shane Warner somehow closely snuggled against her back.
Audrey Sutton thought he was going to sleep, dissatisfied she gently pushed him, said, "You sleep over there, I need to charge my phone later."
His large hand roamed restlessly over her, a husky voice softly whispering beside her ear, his breath tickled her face with a cozy itchiness, sounded particularly ambiguous: "Shouldn’t you also charge me?"
Audrey Sutton knew well what filled his head with blond thoughts, avoiding she slightly shifted away from him: "Stop it, I want to sleep."
