Chapter 451: Chapter 451: The Child Belonging to Her and Shane Warner

Audrey Sutton didn’t know if she really wanted to experience being a mother, but now she felt especially fond of little kids whenever she saw them.

She wasn’t sure whether the many customers of Janelle Tollman would still remember her, but she got up and greeted, "Boss lady, you’re eating here too?"

Janelle Tollman glanced up at Audrey Sutton, her usual gentle demeanor, smiling, "Is it Miss Sutton?"

Audrey Sutton was slightly surprised that Janelle Tollman still remembered who she was. Standing behind the little boy, she instinctively touched the boy’s head and said to Janelle Tollman with a smile, "Did the child not go to school today?"

Janelle Tollman said, "There’s a parent-teacher meeting today. Just got back. Little sister insisted on eating, so I had to bring them here."

The little boy frowned as if he didn’t like his head being touched by others.

Yet, he was evidently well-mannered and polite, so Audrey Sutton didn’t notice him saying anything unpleasant despite his displeasure.

Compared to his not-too-talkative brother, his sister seemed more naturally friendly and sweetly said to Audrey Sutton, "I remember you, sister. You’ve bought things at my mom’s store."

The little girl spoke with some unclear enunciation, but it was barely understandable.

Audrey Sutton felt her heart melt by the child’s calling her "sister," she bent slightly and extended her hand to the little girl, "Can I hold you for a moment?"

The little girl turned to look at her mother, and upon seeing her nod, she opened her little arms toward Audrey Sutton.

Perhaps because she had lost a chance to be a mother herself, she felt an extra sentiment toward children now.

Especially looking at this cute sibling pair, she felt an increasing urge to quickly have a child with Shane Warner.

Looking at Dominic Tollman who resembled her third brother so much, Audrey Sutton felt curious about what the child’s father looked like. He should bear some resemblance to her third brother, right?

But it seemed that she had never seen the children’s father. Last time at the store, it was the children’s grandmother who picked them up from school. And today, Janelle Tollman was alone with the kids at the parent-teacher meeting.

Audrey Sutton thought that even if the child’s father was busy with work, he should take a leave to accompany them for the parent-teacher meeting?

If she were in such a situation, she would feel a bit upset if Shane Warner didn’t come to the parent-teacher meeting due to work.

"Boss lady, you came for the parent-teacher meeting today, how did you manage the store?" Audrey Sutton asked indirectly.

Janelle Tollman smiled and replied, "The store hasn’t been open for a few days, so it’s rare to have time to bring them out for some fun."

Audrey Sutton pursed her lips, hesitating to ask about the child’s father, but fearing that asking it improperly would seem rude. As she was organizing her words mentally, she heard a man’s voice not far away asking them, "Did you finish eating, Janelle?"

Seeing Janelle Tollman stand up and smile in reply the man, "Yes, we’re done eating, you came by so quickly?"

The man replied, "I was nearby when I called you."

Audrey Sutton turned and looked at the approaching man, he appeared to be around twenty-eight to thirty years old, perhaps he was the children’s father?

Fortunately, she hadn’t asked that offensive question earlier.

After glancing at the man twice, Audrey Sutton suddenly realized that wasn’t he Wayne Archer, the great artist?

"...Is that Mr. Archer?" Audrey Sutton tested a greeting.

Wayne Archer paused, turned to look at Audrey Sutton, and nodded, "I didn’t expect to meet Third Young Mistress Warner here."

Audrey Sutton was stunned, not expecting Wayne Archer to recognize him, but hearing him mention the identity of "Third Young Mistress Warner," she didn’t feel too surprised.

"Teacher Archer, please don’t be so polite, just call me Audrey, I really like your works and have bought all your albums."

Wayne Archer raised an eyebrow, smiling, "Is that so? It’s truly an honor for me."

Listening to Wayne Archer speak overly politely made Audrey Sutton feel a bit awkward and momentarily unsure of what to say.

She felt that Wayne Archer looked polite and refined but seemed not easy to get along with. Talking to such a person put her under a lot of pressure.

Maybe just because they’re not familiar enough.

Janelle Tollman laughed, walked over to retrieve Promise Tollman from Audrey Sutton’s embrace, and explained to Audrey Sutton, "We bought movie tickets, it’s almost time, I’m afraid we’ll have to go now."

Audrey Sutton handed the child back to Janelle Tollman and nodded, "Then you better go, we can chat next time."

Janelle Tollman lowered her head to say to Promise Tollman in her arms, "Say goodbye to the sister."

The little girl waved her hand to Audrey Sutton, "Goodbye, sister."

Wayne Archer reached down to take Dominic Tollman’s hand, ready to leave. Promise Tollman, seeing Wayne Archer holding her brother but not her, started to complain, shaking her small feet and pouting, "I want Uncle Archer to hold me!"

Janelle Tollman glared at her, "Walk on your own, see, your brother walks by himself."

Janelle Tollman put her on the ground, and Promise Tollman immediately ran to Wayne Archer’s side, opening her little arms.

Fearless that anyone could refuse the little girl’s whining, Wayne Archer smiled indulgently, handing Dominic Tollman’s hand to Janelle Tollman, then bent over to pick up the little girl.

Looking at the four of them leaving, they seemed just like a happy family of four.

But Audrey Sutton was still baffled by the little girl’s calling of "Uncle Archer."

Judging from Wayne Archer’s interaction with the mother and children, he obviously played the role of their father, but the little girl called him uncle.

Could it be... that Janelle Tollman was a single mom?

After all, if the children’s biological father were around, he definitely wouldn’t allow Wayne Archer to get so close to his wife and children.

"Audrey, your drink arrived, didn’t you say you were dying of thirst?" Phoebe King interrupted her phone conversation to call Audrey Sutton, then continued with her call.

Audrey Sutton sat across from her, listening to Phoebe King’s phone call.

Though she couldn’t hear what was being said on the other side, judging from Phoebe King’s words, she could discern it was a call from her family, probably about matchmaking.

Phoebe King said she found a boyfriend, but her family didn’t believe her, thinking she was lying, and Phoebe King challenged them to visit and see for themselves.

Audrey Sutton laughed, thinking her older brother was likely soon to meet the family.

Not yet five o’clock, Audrey Sutton was still chatting with Phoebe King on the terrace when Shane Warner called to say he was coming to pick her up.

Afraid Shane Warner would discover she was out snacking again, Audrey Sutton quickly pulled Phoebe King downstairs to settle the bill, standing by the roadside waiting for Shane Warner.

Amidst the bustling crowd, Audrey Sutton spotted a familiar face, she paused, but before she could get a clear look, the woman had already walked away.

It must have been a mistake, Lan Irving was dead, how could she possibly see her on the street?
