Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 450: He Could Afford to Raise a Hundred of Them
After missing this opportunity, Clarissa Morgan felt dissatisfied.
Although she hadn’t meticulously planned the kidnapping of Audrey Sutton, she couldn’t go on entangled with Nolan Hawke.
By exchanging Audrey Sutton for those videos in Nolan Hawke’s possession, only then could she avoid being led by the nose by Nolan Hawke in the future.
She had worked hard to get to where she was today; although love hadn’t gone as she wished, her career was thriving, and she couldn’t let one Nolan Hawke ruin it.
Even though she now loathed Nolan Hawke, teaming up with him to make Audrey Sutton disappear was still considered a beautiful thing for her.
By then, Nolan Hawke would stop bothering her, and Audrey Sutton, a thorn in her side, would be thoroughly removed.
She would then find a suitable reason to divorce Quentin Sterling, and she might have the chance to fill the vacancy beside Shane Warner.
Clarissa Morgan knew how deeply Shane Warner loved Audrey Sutton. If Audrey disappeared, Shane Warner would certainly go crazy searching for her, but as long as he couldn’t find her, no matter how deep the love, it would eventually fade with time.
She could wait, wait until Shane Warner was willing to accept her.
Right now, during Audrey Sutton’s disappearance, she could seize the opportunity to stay by Shane Warner’s side, slowly using love to influence him. Someday, he would fall in love with her.
Thinking about this reignited the hope within Clarissa Morgan.
Although today, Audrey Sutton managed to slip away, and she’s usually quite vigilant, with Shane Warner closely protecting her, it’s likely there won’t be such a chance again.
However, Audrey Sutton is only cautious temporarily; she can’t guard against everything forever.
Next time, she won’t get such an opportunity again...
Audrey Sutton and Phoebe King ate lunch outside and then changed to another street to shop.
Phoebe King belonged to the type who gets more energetic the more she shops, while Audrey Sutton is the kind who feels tired after shopping for three or four hours.
She wore flat shoes while Phoebe King was in high heels; if it were Audrey Sutton, she might have long been worn out.
By around three in the afternoon, Audrey Sutton felt a tiredness in her waist and legs, mainly very sleepy. Seeing that they had bought almost enough, Audrey Sutton said, "Sister Phoebe, why don’t we head back? I’m all shopped out."
Phoebe King, while picking out clothes from the rack, said, "Audrey, your fighting spirit is lacking. How can you splurge with just buying this little? What about Shane’s wealth? If you don’t spend it, and another woman does, you might regret it later."
Audrey Sutton smiled proudly and said, "If I don’t splurge now, his money is saved for me to spend later. Besides, our child hasn’t even been born yet; it’s not the time to spend."
Phoebe King teased, "I said you’re saving money for the child, but Shane’s wealth isn’t a small amount. Are you planning to give him a hundred or eighty children?"
Audrey Sutton playfully rolled her eyes and seriously counted the bill for Phoebe King, "Raising children is expensive. Before pregnancy, there are various check-ups and nourishment items. After pregnancy, it’s even more demanding. Plus, after the child is born, there’s the cost of formula, diapers, buying some nutrition, and inevitably, small illnesses like colds might occur. Hospital visits cost money, and then there’s schooling..."
"Okay, okay, stop." Phoebe King turned to look at her and said, "Do you actually not know your husband’s financial background? The things you’re talking about are minor expenditures for your husband. According to your calculations, even if you had a hundred children, he could afford to raise them."
Audrey Sutton protested, "Come on, Sister Phoebe, a hundred? I’m really exhausted, let’s find a place to eat and take a break."
Phoebe King said, "I know a fantastic dessert shop nearby; come, let me take you."
Audrey Sutton, with desserts on her mind, followed Phoebe King. Eventually, Phoebe King couldn’t find the place, and after wandering for more than twenty minutes, Audrey Sutton felt her legs might break before finally reaching the destination.
Audrey Sutton followed Phoebe King into the shop and quietly questioned, "Isn’t this a children’s restaurant? All the food here seems geared towards kids, doesn’t it?"
Phoebe King replied, "As long as it tastes good, who cares what type of restaurant it is? It doesn’t say adults aren’t allowed."
Audrey Sutton actually liked the restaurant’s decoration, like those candy houses seen in movies, with food decorations hanging on the walls that made people feel particularly appetized.
Audrey Sutton swallowed and said, "This is my first time here; I usually don’t visit this area often."
"Stick with Sister Phoebe, and I’ll show you new wonders. Let’s go upstairs; there’s a terrace where you can catch some breeze. Across the street is a gym; you can even check out some handsome guys."
Audrey Sutton laughed, "Sister Phoebe, you really know how to enjoy life."
Phoebe King chuckled, "You and I both know, don’t tell your big brother."
Audrey Sutton said, "If there are handsome guys, we’re watching them together. How would I dare to tattletale on you?"
Saying that, they sat under the parasol on the third-floor terrace, surrounded mostly by parents with children, mixed in with a couple of young couples.
Today wasn’t a holiday, so the store wasn’t too crowded. Sister Phoebe said that on weekends, people have to queue up to buy stuff, not to mention finding a place to sit.
Phoebe King had visited a few times and knew what was delicious, so when ordering, Audrey Sutton let Phoebe King decide.
Audrey Sutton turned her head, looking at the view from the terrace, basking in the gentle afternoon sun and feeling the warm breeze. Earlier, she felt almost worn out, but now she felt quite okay.
"Mommy, I want another donut," a soft little girl’s voice came from not far away.
The place was full of children, so Audrey Sutton didn’t pay much attention. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
She heard the child’s mother gently reply to her daughter, "You’ve already had two; that’s enough. Eating too much will make your teeth hurt."
The little girl grumbled unhappily, "But I didn’t eat two; I split half with my brother."
Soon after, she heard a little boy’s voice protesting, "She only pinched a little piece for me; it wasn’t even half. She’s lying!"
"Oh, oh," the little girl pouted, pretending to cry as she climbed onto her mother’s lap, "Mommy, look, brother is scolding me again!"
The little boy said, "You’re annoying."
The woman gently laughed, "Alright, you two are siblings; you should love each other. Brother, don’t call your sister names, and sister, don’t keep lying about brother bullying you, okay? Next time, if you don’t behave, there’ll be no donuts."
The more Audrey Sutton listened, the more she found the voice familiar, so she turned her head to take a look. Upon doing so, she discovered it actually was an acquaintance.
Wasn’t this the owner of the perfume shop?
Looking at the two children, still in their school uniforms, the sister sitting in Janelle Tollman’s lap with chocolate sauce smeared around her mouth from the donut, Janelle Tollman was gently using a napkin to wipe her face.
The brother looked expressionless, like a little adult sitting beside them, slightly frowning as he looked at the two women sitting across from him, showing an obviously discontented look.
The more Audrey Sutton looked, the more she felt the little boy resembled her third brother. Comparing the photos of her third brother from the past with the child’s current appearance was like they were cut from the same cloth.
