Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 452: Attend Class with Me
Shane Warner’s car stopped by the roadside, and Phoebe King, too lazy to walk to get her car, just sat in Shane Warner’s car to let him drop her off at the parking spot first.
"Shane, I’m returning your wife to you safe and sound."
Shane Warner was driving, glanced at the two through the rearview mirror and asked, "Did you make her eat something she shouldn’t?"
Audrey Sutton secretly gave Phoebe King a look, and Phoebe King immediately understood, laughingly said, "Shane, do I look like someone who eats recklessly? How could I take your wife out to eat randomly?"
Shane Warner snorted coldly, glancing at the two, clearly not trusting Phoebe King’s words.
Audrey Sutton knew Shane Warner wasn’t one to be easily fooled, so she quickly and cheerfully changed the topic, saying, "I bought you a lot of stuff, I’ll show you when we get back."
"Learned to bribe people with gifts? Don’t think that just because you bought me stuff, I won’t hold you accountable when we get back."
Audrey Sutton realized her trick was seen through, laughed awkwardly, and confessed, "...I only had some snacks."
Shane Warner: "And the milk tea?"
Audrey Sutton giggled: "I drank a cup during lunch, it was room temperature!"
Phoebe King: "Shane, is it true that older people have a heart full of paternal love? Audrey is in her early twenties, she won’t go out and eat poison, right? As long as it’s not deadly, some street snacks help balance nutrition."
Listening to Phoebe King’s twisted logic, Shane Warner just coldly glanced at her, then said to Audrey Sutton, "Don’t hang out with people like her too often."
Audrey Sutton: "..."
Phoebe King’s mouth twitched a bit, glared at Shane Warner, and sarcastically said, "Audrey, there’s something I’ve meant to tell you. That night at the bar, when I was drinking..."
Shane Warner knew what Phoebe King was talking about, stopped the car by the roadside, and coldly interrupted Phoebe King, "We’re at the parking lot."
Audrey Sutton curiously pursued the question, "What did you see?"
Phoebe King received Shane Warner’s threatening gaze, knowing well, she intentionally teased Shane Warner, reminding him she had leverage on him, and he should speak more politely in the future.
Phoebe King pushed open the car door, getting off while saying to Audrey Sutton, "I saw your big brother."
"Huh?" Audrey Sutton listened, confused.
Phoebe King took her stuff from the trunk, stood by the car waving to Audrey Sutton, before she could say "bye," Shane Warner heartlessly drove away.
Audrey Sutton said to him, "That’s so rude."
Shane Warner: "Whether you need manners depends on who you’re dealing with."
Audrey Sutton pouted, feeling his twisted logic made a lot of sense.
Shane Warner: "Tired from shopping all day?"
Audrey Sutton nodded: "My feet feel broken. I never want to shop again."
Shane Warner: "How many times have you said that? Not even two days later and you’ll be itching to go out again."
"Haha, actually shopping isn’t that tiring. Mainly... just missing someone to carry the stuff."
Shane Warner caught the hint that she meant he didn’t accompany her, answered irritably, "Then why didn’t you wait for me to accompany you on the weekend?"
Audrey Sutton: "No problem, let’s go again on the weekend."
Shane Warner: "Who just said they never want to shop again?"
Audrey Sutton: "You’re so serious. By the way, while I waited for you by the roadside, I saw a woman who looked like Lan Irving from far away, but I didn’t get a good look."
Shane Warner: "What? Do you miss her?"
Audrey Sutton: "No, just a moment of confusion when I saw her, then realized she’s no longer around, must have been seeing things. I’ve been feeling like I haven’t slept enough recently, am I getting old?"
Shane Warner: "You’re just lazy, not old."
Audrey Sutton yawned and said, "Feels like my period is coming, my back aches, and my chest feels swollen."
Shane Warner smirked wickedly, "Want me to massage you when we get home tonight?"
Audrey Sutton glared at him, "I still have to do some drawing when we get back, want to finish quickly and sleep early."
There weren’t many ingredients left at home, and thinking Audrey Sutton was tired from shopping, Shane Warner didn’t take her to the supermarket for a walk but went straight to a quiet Chinese restaurant instead.
Audrey Sutton initially thought she wouldn’t be able to eat dinner after coming out of the dessert shop, but seeing dishes served, she felt hungry and ate almost two bowls of rice.
Shane Warner thought she must have been hungry from shopping, but on the way back she mentioned wanting sour plum soup again, Shane Warner detoured to get her favorite.
Seeing Audrey Sutton immediately gulp down two sips, Shane Warner couldn’t help but ask, "Didn’t you eat at noon?"
"I did."
"Then are you trying to reach two hundred pounds?"
Audrey Sutton glared at him, saying, "I just felt dinner was a bit greasy, so I wanted some sour plum soup to cleanse the palate. Want to try a sip?"
Shane Warner disdainfully turned his head away, stopping the car in the yard by the house while the sky hadn’t fully darkened yet.
Audrey Sutton was in the car almost nodding off, Shane Warner gently patted her face to tell her they were home, "If you’re tired, take a shower and sleep first."
Audrey Sutton yawned and got out of the car, "I’ll be awake after a shower."
Shane Warner went around to the trunk to carry the stuff she bought, Audrey Sutton already opened the door and changed into her shoes, General and Pea were waiting by the door, one enthusiastic, the other proud.
After her shower, Audrey Sutton felt less sleepy, remembering she bought something for Shane Warner, she quickly ran downstairs, seeing Shane Warner watching the evening news in the living room.
"Are you free on Monday?"
Shane Warner glanced at her, asking, "Why?"
The things she bought were piled on a single-seater sofa nearby. Audrey Sutton walked beside them, searching while saying, "I want you to attend school with me."
Shane Warner didn’t know what scheme she was cooking up, glanced at her twice, "College has parent-teacher meetings?"
Audrey Sutton rolled her eyes at him, "It’s not a parent-teacher meeting! Besides, even if it was, you wouldn’t be the one going."
Shane Warner chuckled, scrutinizing her, "Did something bad at school and afraid to tell your parents, so only I can go?"
Audrey Sutton: "Nonsense, I’m so well-behaved, how could I do anything bad? I just want you to accompany me."
Shane Warner: "Accompany you?"
Audrey Sutton nodded with a smile, "Attend class with me, I want us to take classes together!"
As she spoke, she pulled out two outfits from a bag, walking over to him, trying one on in front of herself, saying, "I bought matching outfits; join me at school on Monday, okay?"
