Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 417: Master Shane Is in Trouble
Audrey Sutton now takes good care of her health, paying attention to wellness, with three meals a day and early to bed and early to rise as a basic routine.
So before going to meet Flora Lane, she still made herself a delicate breakfast before heading out.
The interview location wasn’t far from Starfield, just in an office building diagonally across from it.
When they arrived, it was work hours, and the entire floor was quiet.
Audrey Sutton and Flora Lane stood by the door and glanced around, and the reception staff approached them warmly, asking, "Is there anything I can help you with?"
Flora Lane smiled and replied, "...I’m here for an interview. I talked to Sis Armstrong yesterday."
"Oh, here for the host interview, right? Our boss has mentioned it. Please follow me."
Flora Lane thought that Sis Armstrong really cared about her, even instructing the receptionist about this matter.
While Flora Lane was off for the interview, Audrey Sutton sat on a long bench outside the corridor, waiting.
There were several other people waiting for interviews next to her, and Audrey Sutton, not having experienced the workplace before, felt a bit tempted to give it a try.
"President Keating, this way please," a woman’s voice sounded in her ears.
Audrey Sutton looked up and saw the leading man dressed in a gray-purple suit, listening to two subordinate-like people behind him talking.
As the man passed by, his gaze swept over those sitting on the bench waiting for interviews. It was originally just a casual glance, but when his eyes settled on Audrey Sutton’s face, his gaze noticeably lingered, as if surprised to see her here.
Audrey Sutton noticed the man’s expression too but wasn’t particularly surprised.
She simply assumed the man recognized her as Young Master Warner’s wife, thinking she shouldn’t be here for an interview, hence his brief surprise.
The man didn’t stop, and his gaze quickly shifted away from Audrey Sutton, then headed into the corridor.
It was only two or three minutes later that Audrey Sutton felt something was odd, her mind repeatedly recalling the look the man gave earlier, suddenly feeling she might have seen this man somewhere before...
But looking at his face, she genuinely had no impression, except those eyes, which gave her an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
The more she tried to think, the less she could recall anything.
Perhaps it’s just her illusion, Audrey Sutton didn’t dwell on it, bowed her head and played a matching game, waiting for Flora Lane to come out of the room.
Thirty-five levels of stamina were used up, and the level she had been stuck on for several days still wasn’t cleared.
The door of the interview room opened, and seeing Flora Lane push it open and come out, she instantly let out a sigh of relief then smiled and walked towards Audrey Sutton, "I passed!"
Audrey Sutton smiled, "Aren’t you supposed to treat everyone to a meal?"
The interviewees nearby all looked at Flora Lane with envious eyes.
Audrey Sutton stood up and left hand in hand with Flora Lane, as Flora Lane narrated her "thrilling" experience in the interview room.
In hindsight, it wasn’t that scary. People always have a fear and nervousness about unknown interviews.
Flora Lane enjoyed using some dubbing software during her school days, and she laid a small foundation for radio plays, so when she went for the audition, the interviewer gave her a rather high evaluation, saying they were preparing a popular IP novel, and Flora Lane’s voice was exactly what they were looking for. They would contact her for the recording in two or three days.
This matter went smoothly.
No matter how the salary turns out, working in a field she loves while earning to support herself is truly a happy thing.
By noon, they called Seraphina Vaughn and Barry Barrett to join them for a meal.
The weather was gloomy, with the forecast saying it would rain today, but it didn’t affect the four of them going out to have fun.
Seraphina Vaughn drove them to the restaurant, and on the way, it started to rain.
Audrey Sutton sat by the window, watching the rain-streaked glass, and a scene suddenly flashed in her mind—a man in delivery gear on a motorcycle.
It was also raining heavily when he delivered an envelope to her that day. She didn’t see the man’s face under the helmet, but she did see his eyes.
Initially, she hadn’t paid much attention to this person, but now mysteriously linked him to the man she saw outside the interview room.
She wasn’t sure if her feelings were correct, but intuition sometimes is a strange thing, and she now felt the way that man looked at her was odd.
If you follow her logic, he only noticed she was Young Master Warner’s wife, typically, such people would greet her to foster a good relationship.
But after a brief surprise, the man just walked away.
She now suspects that this person is the one who delivered the envelope to her, and the surprise upon seeing her was not because he recognized her as Young Master Warner’s wife, but out of guilt for unexpectedly meeting her at his workplace, prompting him to walk away hastily.
She recalled someone had referred to him as "President Keating."
With this thought, Audrey Sutton became restless and immediately picked up her phone and sent Stephen Sutton a message: Big brother, do you remember if you had a classmate with the surname Qi?
Audrey Sutton didn’t know which "Qi" it was, so she just sent Stephen Sutton the pinyin.
Stephen Sutton quickly replied: Which Qi? Primary school? Middle school? High school or university?
When Audrey Sutton was typing, Stephen Sutton sent another message: Why are you asking this suddenly?
Audrey Sutton: It’s likely high school or college, mainly thinking about your college classmates, ones who know you and Vincent Warner, someone with the surname Qi, think carefully if such a person exists?
Stephen Sutton: I have no impression, back then, Vincent and I were somewhat well-known at school, even if they weren’t classmates, they still knew us. What’s going on?
Audrey Sutton replied with "just asking" and dismissed the topic, then thought she would go to the radio play company someday to inquire.
After lunch, it was still raining outside, so they went straight to the cinema.
About two-thirds into the movie, Audrey Sutton received a call from Faye Xavier.
"Hello? Brother Xavier?"
"Sis-in-law, Master Shane is not doing well..." Without finishing, Faye Xavier cursed softly and hurriedly corrected himself, "Master Shane has been hospitalized!"
Audrey Sutton’s heart instantly tightened, she softly said to Flora Lane beside her, picked up her phone, and walked to the corridor outside the theater, asking Faye, "What happened? Why is he in the hospital?"
Faye Xavier sounded anxious: "I don’t know what’s wrong either, I noticed Master Shane looking unwell this morning, asked him during the meeting if he needed to go to the hospital, but he insisted he was fine, then suddenly he said he couldn’t continue and asked me to call for an ambulance. It has just left."
