Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!-Chapter 173: Seraphina Arrives
"Shut your damn mouth, there’s no way Seraphina wouldn’t come!"
Ronan Yates snapped back, turning to look at Beatrice Fawcett and the others.
The seven of them just stood quietly, not saying a word.
They had no hope in The Defiance Society, but wanted to see if Seraphina Redgrave really had a way; what if she succeeded?
But they saw that Seraphina didn’t show up at all.
Seems she doesn’t have a way and didn’t dare to come.
What use is there for them to be here?
Seeing a few people staying silent, Ronan Yates knew they didn’t believe in Seraphina at all, and was so mad he was hopping mad: "What expression is that? Seraphina would never abandon us!"
"Give her one last minute."
Caleb Crawford smirked sarcastically from his seat.
The seven members of The Defiance Society almost wanted to bolt out the door, especially Beatrice Fawcett, who was as anxious as ants on a hot pan.
Selena Quinn watched everything with a faint smile at the corners of her lips.
The minute was up.
The deans of various faculties took their seats, sitting on the central chairs of the conference room.
Along the wall of the conference room was a row of chairs with different club emblems on them, designated for the students.
One dean nodded and instructed a student by the door, "Close the door."
The student immediately stood up to close the door.
Seraphina really didn’t dare to come.
Everyone in the conference room wore different expressions: disappointment, joy, helplessness, regret...
Seraphina...
Ronan Yates stood still, his eyes fixed fiercely on the door of the conference room, gritting his teeth, fists clenched as if about to dig into his palms for blood.
The door of the conference room slowly shut, blocking the light outside.
Seraphina really didn’t come.
Ronan Yates lowered his head in dejection, but then he heard footsteps, familiar lazy strides.
Ronan Yates jerked his head up, intuitively sensing that it was Seraphina, and shouted, "Wait!"
The student who was about to close the door was startled and paused mid-action.
Everyone who was about to start the meeting looked up toward the door, including Selena Quinn, and the door that was almost fully shut was pushed open from the outside.
Light flooded back in, almost blinding.
Someone walked out of the light; it was Seraphina.
She was dressed in light-colored sportswear, hands in her pockets, wireless earbuds in her ears, stepping out of the light with eyes so clear and strikingly beautiful.
"Seraphina!"
Ronan Yates was so thrilled he almost burst into tears.
"Why come at the last minute? What’s the point of being so arrogant?"
Caleb Crawford rolled his eyes fiercely at Seraphina from his seat.
Seraphina walked forward but stopped in front of Caleb Crawford, took off her wireless earbud, and glanced down at him: "Sorry, I didn’t hear clearly; what nonsense were you barking?"
Saying he’s a dog?
Caleb Crawford’s face turned instantly ugly; just as he was about to stand up, Selena Quinn beside him grabbed him: "Caleb!"
Hearing Selena’s voice, Caleb Crawford suppressed his anger forcefully and sat back down.
Seraphina stood still, her eyes brushed past Selena’s face, a hint of a smirk flashed across her eyes, then she turned and walked to The Defiance Society’s area and found a chair to sit down.
"Seraphina, why so late?"
Ronan Yates couldn’t help but ask.
Wasn’t it because of Ethan Sterling calling non-stop?
Recently, Ethan Sterling increasingly liked to call Seraphina, sometimes not even having anything to say, just keeping her on the line to listen to him work.
"Overslept."
Seraphina pressed the other earbud and spoke expressionlessly.
The seven prospective members didn’t look pleased; how could she oversleep at such a critical time?
"When do we submit our application for processing?"
Indeed.
The call hadn’t been disconnected, Ethan Sterling wasn’t willing to let her go even though she was about to have a meeting and wouldn’t let her hang up.
At this point, Ethan Sterling’s voice came through the earbud, clearly annoyed: "Is it so embarrassing to say you’re on a call with your boyfriend?"
Seraphina pretended she was deaf.
"Sixth," Ronan answered.
"Let her go first. Recently, Student Shaw’s got such a big presence; who dares compete for a spot with her? What do you all think?"
Caleb Crawford loudly voiced.
The members of the Elite Society echoed him, and the other clubs didn’t dare speak up, only nodding in agreement, looking at Seraphina curiously.
Whether The Defiance Society could be established depended on this review.
"Then let Student Shaw go ahead. Have you done the application form and the proposal for setting up The Defiance Society?" the dean of the Business Academy asked.
"All done."
Ronan Yates quickly picked up the prepared documents and handed a copy to the principal and deans.
The principal sat at the main seat, glanced at Caleb Crawford, then began reviewing the documents slowly, eventually stopping.
There was nothing wrong with the documents.
"Clubs at Sovereign College all require sponsorship, where is your sponsorship coming from?"
Seraphina sat there, listening to Ethan Sterling’s voice coming through the earbud.
Before she could speak, the principal’s surprised voice interrupted: "The Shaw Family sponsored you?"
Wasn’t the Shaw Family based in the South? Why would they sponsor a student club at Sovereign College?
As soon as the principal said this, the earbud erupted.
"You went to Hector Shaw?" Ethan Sterling said through gritted teeth, "Are you out of your mind, Seraphina Redgrave? I’m just fine, why would you go to another man?"
Even with just one earbud, Ethan Sterling’s sudden outburst nearly deafened Seraphina.
"Withdraw their sponsorship immediately!" Ethan Sterling sneered, "Otherwise, say goodbye to your Defiance Society!"
Why does Ethan Sterling have to be so troublesome?
Seraphina pressed her fist to her lips to mask her voice, speaking softly: "We made a bet; if I ask you, then I’d be breaking the rules, right?"
Of course, it wasn’t just because of the bet with Ethan Sterling; it was also because she didn’t want to trouble others with things she could resolve herself.
Moreover, Ethan Sterling not stopping her was a blessing in itself.
"Seraphina!"
Ethan Sterling found himself entirely silenced by Seraphina’s words.
The next second, he was even more furious: "Seraphina, don’t try to test my patience."
He couldn’t tolerate any man around her; she should know that.
"Sylvia Shaw?"
The principal sat above, looking at Seraphina along with the deans, waiting for her to speak.
"We’ll talk about it later."
Right after finishing her last words to Ethan Sterling, Seraphina mustered her courage and removed the wireless earbud, looking at the principal and deans, "Yes?"
"I want to ask," Caleb Crawford sat in his seat, his smile cold, "Principal, Deans, do you really believe the sponsorship part in the documents before you?"
"It should be credible."
The principal nodded helplessly; in fact, he and Teacher Young both didn’t want The Defiance Society to be established.
