Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!-Chapter 172: The Meeting
"As expected, how could those conglomerates allow commoners to rise up," Beatrice Fawcett sneered, "You all continue playing your little games."
Beatrice Fawcett saw no future in it and turned to leave.
Observing Beatrice’s behavior, Seraphina Redgrave spoke with a smile, "Since The Defiance Society is the only way, why leave?"
Upon hearing this, Beatrice turned around, her cold eyes fixed on Seraphina, "Yes, when I came here, I thought The Defiance Society was my last hope. But after passing all those exams to stand before you, I found out we can’t even get a classroom approved, the sponsors haven’t shown up, and we can’t even get the school’s consent..."
"Whether The Defiance Society gets the school’s approval to hold events is my business as the director, it’s not something you need to worry about. What you need to focus on is winning the competition so you can stand even taller."
Seraphina coldly interrupted Beatrice’s self-pitying lament.
"Do you really have a way to deal with those rich kids from the Elite Society?"
Seeing Beatrice wasn’t panicking at all, a small glimmer of hope rose within her.
"A way? No."
Seraphina spoke very directly.
Everyone’s expressions returned to a state of dejection.
Seraphina stood up, dusted off her clothes, and her clear eyes scanned the faces of the seven students: "I only know one thing, and that’s that no one can stop me from accomplishing what I set out to do."
"Anybody can brag, right?"
Beatrice sneered with ridicule. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Who among the seven now standing before Seraphina didn’t put their all into getting into Sovereign College, hoping to make their mark in Z country, and then?
Only to be slapped hard by reality, showing them that no matter how strong their abilities, it was of no use, they were still helpless.
In this world, it’s all about who you know.
"But let me be clear, once The Defiance Society gets the school’s recognition, if any of you lose the competition due to your current confusion and panic, then leave the society immediately."
Seraphina’s smile didn’t reach her eyes: "At that time, don’t make excuses for your mediocrity."
Having said that, she turned and left.
Beatrice and the other six students stood frozen, watching Seraphina’s departing figure. How could she be so sure the school would agree to their forming a society?
Can Seraphina really save commoner students from disaster?
"Sigh."
Ronan Yates stood nearby, shaking his head, then pointed at them with his fingers.
The initially timid-looking boy cautiously spoke up, "What are you doing?"
"You all didn’t think Seraphina appeared innocent and weak, as if she relies on her looks to get by?"
Ronan voiced what they were all thinking.
Everyone fell silent, seeing Ronan’s expression filled with agreement to their thoughts.
"Before, I thought the same as you all, and then..."
And then he never dared to think that way again.
Ronan looked at the seven dumbfounded people and sighed, "Aren’t you just curious to see if your Seraphina has the skills? Wait until the day of the meeting and you’ll find out."
Having said that, Ronan quickly ran off to catch up with his Seraphina.
The seven prospective members looked at each other, unsure of whether to believe in Seraphina and Ronan’s words.
Is Sylvia Shaw really capable of standing up against the Elite Society?
Due to The Defiance Society’s sudden emergence, the meeting on Friday had become quite intriguing.
The entrance of the conference room in the multi-purpose building was crowded with students who wanted to witness the spectacle firsthand, with some even skipping class to see the excitement. They all gathered in the building.
Everyone wanted to know if this Defiance Society could withstand the immense pressure and form, then compete with the well-established Elite Society.
The sky was clear; today was a rare sunny day.
When Selena Quinn arrived, she saw crowds of students inside and outside the multi-purpose building, which made her already pale complexion look worse, and she couldn’t help but cough repeatedly.
Caleb Crawford, standing next to Selena, handed her a glass of water, speaking with concern, "Selena, don’t worry, The Defiance Society can’t possibly form, the principal told me so."
"Yeah, yeah, where did Sylvia Shaw find the time to secure so many sponsors? It’s rumored she appointed Ronan Yates as vice director of The Defiance Society; who doesn’t know what Ronan did before? Just think about it, those sponsors must be fishy."
Someone nearby said.
Doesn’t this imply that those sponsors Seraphina has are very likely falsified with Ronan’s help?
"Let’s go inside first."
Selena opened the bottle, took a sip of water to suppress her cough, and then entered the multi-purpose building.
Just after walking through the entrance, before taking two steps, a student reporter from the school’s broadcasting station rushed out, "Director Quinn, what is the Elite Society’s stance on the formation of The Defiance Society? Will you oppose its establishment?"
Selena smiled gently and gracefully, "That’s a matter for the school leadership, our members in the Elite Society have no interest in student societies other than our own. We’re here today to report some society business to the school."
A perfect answer.
But how could the student reporter pass up such a good interview opportunity? They immediately asked the next question, "But earlier, students saw Caleb visiting the principal’s office. Have you used your influence to coerce the school into blocking the formation of The Defiance Society, keeping commoner students down forever?"
The two questions were quite sharp.
Currently at Sovereign University, the issue of class is being pushed to the forefront. Everyone can’t help but find their own positioning, hence whether The Defiance Society can successfully form concerns almost everyone.
Selena stood there with a gentle smile, "How could that be? We are all students, just because we have a decent family background doesn’t mean we should be pushed into creating conflicts."
"Yes, it’s those who escalate class conflicts who are truly malicious. The Elite Society is just selecting talent for society."
Caleb spoke emotionlessly, then dragged Selena into the building.
Once inside the conference room, there were noticeably fewer people.
Caleb glanced around, the deans of the various departments hadn’t yet arrived in full, but all the students had, even the club leaders who usually would evade student meetings by taking leave were present.
The members of the Elite Society entered, immediately attracting everyone’s attention.
Selena glanced around, Seraphina was absent from the conference room.
Everyone took their seats, and after a while, the door to the conference room opened again, bringing in the noise from the students outside.
Selena couldn’t help but hold her breath and look up, but it was Ronan, sporting his signature white hair, leading seven serious-looking students through the door.
Looking closely, a few familiar faces stood out—commoner students previously admitted through sss but rejected by the Elite Society due to their family backgrounds.
It seemed Seraphina was serious about this.
She couldn’t help but grit her teeth, but noticed Seraphina was not present with them.
Ronan walked in, sneered at the Elite Society members, then turned to lead the prospective members of The Defiance Society to their seats.
In no time, Ronan was arguing with a female student from the Elite Society.
"Ronan, don’t you take a good look at yourself in the mirror, what makes you think you can oppose us, the Elite Society. Clearly, The Defiance Society is made up of trash like you."
The girl was extremely abrasive.
"I’m wondering where the stench comes from, turns out someone has a stinking mouth. Why are you jumping up and down? Are you scared that The Defiance Society will rise up and the nation will discover that you’re squandering the best resources on the worst slackers?" Ronan retorted fearlessly.
The girl was nearly infuriated to death, "Ha, who’s the slacker, you know it well. Sovereign College needs only the Elite Society; if you want to play house, go do it at home."
Caleb sat there, checked his watch, and spoke coldly, "Time is running out. Ronan, what’s the point of all this shouting? If Sylvia Shaw doesn’t show up in a moment, it’ll be you who looks foolish."
