Chapter 573: Chapter 572: Accompanying Him to the Hospital

"Hello!"

Claire Sullivan smiled at Wyatt Sterling and said.

She had arrived in the Imperial Capital last night and came to the Sterling Residence early this morning to wait.

Simon Sterling and Mrs. Sterling left one after the other, she saw it, and when Wyatt came out, she wanted to take a closer look, so she got caught.

"Aunt Claire, what are you doing here?" Wyatt asked, "Are you looking for Serena? She’s with my uncle!"

"Oh!" Claire smiled. She had sneaked to the Imperial Capital to find Serena, and also to see him.

Some things weigh heavier on the heart if left unspoken, but once the seal is broken, all the longing and emotions flood in like a torrent, impossible to stop.

During the three months when Serena was in trouble, she thought a lot. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Upon learning that Serena was not only alive but had become James Sterling’s daughter, she was overjoyed, nothing but joy.

In the past, she might have blamed Serena for getting involved with the Sterling Family. Even if it was James, she still hoped her daughter wouldn’t be entangled with them again.

Now it was different. As long as Serena was safe, everything else she could let go.

She also wanted to meet Wyatt, the son who was taken to the Sterling Family right after he was born.

"What’s wrong with your throat?"

Claire looked at Wyatt’s clouded eyes, sensing something was off about him.

"Hmm, caught a cold!"

Wyatt replied, "Aunt Claire, I’ll take you to Serena."

Claire didn’t answer Wyatt’s question, instead worrying about his health, "You should go to the hospital for a cold. Looking at you, it seems you have a fever."

As she spoke, Claire, standing by the car window, placed her hand on Wyatt’s forehead, and he was taken aback.

As a child, the old lady would feel his forehead like this, but Mrs. Sterling never did.

"Very hot! Let’s go to the hospital right away." Claire felt Wyatt’s burning forehead and said with a frown.

"I’ll go buy some medicine and then head to the office."

Wyatt didn’t plan to go to the hospital; Simon had given him time off, but he felt more secure going to work.

"You’re burning like this, what office do you think you can go to?"

Claire said irritably, "Your father just seems crazy about making money, doesn’t even think to take you to the hospital while you’re burning up."

This made Wyatt laugh, "I’m not a child!"

As a child, he wanted family company when he was sick, but now...

"Get out of the car."

Claire said again, Wyatt puzzled as to why she wanted him to get out, but obediently did so.

After Wyatt got off, Claire got in the car, "You sit in the passenger seat, I’ll take you to the hospital."

"A cold should be treated promptly, not delayed."

Wyatt really found Claire peculiar. She was Serena’s mother, strictly speaking, unrelated to him.

Knowing he was sick, she was more anxious than Mrs. Sterling, insisting on taking him to the hospital.

When they got to the hospital, Claire led him through registration, consultation, and blood tests, rushing about, treating him like a child of seven or eight.

During the IV, fearing he might catch cold, she took off her coat and gave it to him.

This woman was too good to him, warming his heart amid the discomfort of the cold.

"When Serena was young, she wasn’t very healthy, always in and out of hospitals every few days."

Claire casually chatted with Wyatt, unconsciously bringing up Serena.

Living both as a father and a mother made her feel weary, making her want to escape in later days.

"Were you healthy as a child?"

Claire switched the topic, asking Wyatt.

She looked at Wyatt’s face, a sour ache filling her heart, making her eyes a bit moist.

Serena and Wyatt were born just a few seconds apart. With Serena’s health being poor, could Wyatt’s be any better?

When he was sick, how did the Sterling Family take care of him?

These questions ran through Claire’s mind repeatedly whenever Serena fell ill.
