Chapter 572: Chapter 571: Encountering Her

When he first arrived at the Sterling Family, he was still just a child.

The adults in the family ignored him, and after a servant gave him some medication, they went off to busy themselves with other matters. It wasn’t until they finished their chores and returned to his room that they found his little face was flushed red from a fever, and he was barely conscious, something was clearly wrong.

The servant panicked and finally took him to the hospital.

The doctor checked his temperature, which was as high as 45 degrees Celsius.

In that state, a delay in treatment could either have cost him his life or left his brain addled from the fever.

When the elder Mr. Sterling found out about this, he scolded Simon Sterling and Mrs. Sterling severely. From then on, Simon took him along wherever he went. His health gradually improved, and he didn’t fall seriously ill again.

Felicity Sterling saw that he was lost in thought and not paying attention to her, so she turned to go back home. Simon Sterling stood at the edge of the pool, looking at his reflection in the water. Old memories suddenly resurfaced, unsettling his heart. He looked into the distance, remembering it was a gift from Serena, and without further thought, he jumped in.

Winter had passed by now, and the daytime sun was gentle and comforting. The Sterling’s pool was temperature-controlled, but the wind at night was still cold. Wyatt Sterling regretted jumping in, thinking he should have searched during the day.

But since he had already jumped, he continued searching in the pool.

The pool was large, and it seemed as if the ring was playing a game with him, as he spent over an hour looking for it.

Once he found the ring and got out of the pool, the cold wind made him shiver, causing him to sneeze.

The next day, Wyatt showed signs of catching a cold.

As an adult, he didn’t need to consult Mr. Sterling or Mrs. Sterling, but after searching his room for a long time, he couldn’t find any cold medicine.

He could only wait to buy some at the Sterling Corporation’s building after going to work.

In the dining room, Mr. Sterling and Mrs. Sterling sat at the table, each silently eating, the only sound being the soft clinking of chopsticks against bowls.

Wyatt went over to greet them, his head feeling foggy from illness, lacking strength and having no appetite.

Mr. Sterling raised his head, noticing Wyatt’s lack of energy, and said, "You don’t need to attend today’s meeting."

"Why?" Wyatt was surprised, his throat felt like it was on fire, his voice hoarse and low.

After Mr. Sterling finished speaking, he stood up, patted Wyatt on the shoulder, and said, "Go and see a doctor."

He had spent so long soaking in the pool last night, exposed to the wind for so long, and now he was seriously ill. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Wyatt was easily contented, and with Mr. Sterling caring for him, he nodded in agreement to visit the hospital before returning to the Sterling Corporation.

Wyatt escorted Mr. Sterling out, and during this time, Mr. Sterling didn’t say a word to Mrs. Sterling.

As Mrs. Sterling saw Wyatt talking cheerfully with Mr. Sterling by the car, she felt worried that Wyatt might complain about her. On second thought, she realized she hadn’t done anything wrong.

She had raised Wyatt for many years, more qualified than Claire Sullivan.

Wyatt was kinder to Serena than Felicity, which was his own fault.

She didn’t care about Wyatt’s health and took Felicity, who had just come downstairs, and left the Sterling household.

Wyatt took care of some pressing matters at home before heading out to the hospital.

As he drove away from the Sterling family gate, he noticed a woman suspiciously hiding across the street.

Seeing half her face revealed, Wyatt slammed on the brakes and stopped the car by the roadside.

Wyatt reversed the car, and when the woman hiding in the shadows saw him suddenly turn towards her, she considered running but couldn’t bear to miss this opportunity, so she stopped running.

"Auntie Su."

Looking at the face so similar to Serena’s, Wyatt felt both fondness and a deep sense of familiarity. This affection felt even stronger than what he felt towards Serena.
