Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 571 - 570: Throwing Away the Ring
Wyatt Sterling raised his hand to look at the ring Serena Sullivan had just given him. He didn’t want to hand it to Mrs. Sterling, and was about to find an excuse to refuse when Mrs. Sterling reached over and forcefully pried the ring off his middle finger.
If it were anyone else, Wyatt wouldn’t give them such an opportunity.
This person was his mother!
The ring was pulled off so harshly it hurt his fingers, so he simply took it off himself and handed it to Mrs. Sterling.
"Mom, what do you want the ring for?"
He asked, seeing the sullen face of Mrs. Sterling holding the ring. She didn’t give him a word of reply, and suddenly tossed the ring, which traced a beautiful arc before falling into the pool not far away.
With a "plop," the ring fell in.
"Mom, why did you throw my ring!"
Wyatt was furious, he shouted angrily, glared at Mrs. Sterling, and quickly walked to the poolside.
It was getting late, and even though the street lamps around the pool were on, the people on the shore couldn’t see clearly into the watery world of the pool.
"Wyatt, I raised you to this age not for you to nurture a love child!"
Mrs. Sterling didn’t feel her actions were excessive. Instead, she straightened her back and reprimanded Wyatt.
She allowed the Sterling Family to bring back the newborn Wyatt. Over the years, he had the best of everything, yet Wyatt was an ingrate who only protected Serena Sullivan.
Bastard!
Those words deeply pierced Wyatt’s anger. Standing at the edge, he turned his head coldly to glare at Mrs. Sterling behind him, "She is not a bastard!"
Wyatt articulated each word clearly.
Serena Sullivan is not a bastard!
"Hmph!"
Mrs. Sterling sneered, "A mistress’s illegitimate daughter, if not a bastard, then what?"
"Wyatt, get it straight, Felicity is your real sister." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Wyatt repeatedly protected Serena in front of her, which was truly odious.
"Ingrate!"
Mrs. Sterling coldly spat out the words and stormed off.
Wyatt’s hands clenched tightly, his knuckles cracking. If she weren’t his mother, and after throwing Serena’s ring into the pool, he would have thrown her in, too.
"Brother."
Felicity Sterling found it strange and distressing.
The family had unknowingly changed.
"Today at the party, when you greeted Uncle and them first, Mom became unhappy."
Felicity’s relationship with Wyatt was not very close, unlike Wyatt’s with Eldest Master and Second Master Sterling.
Wyatt’s smile lingered on his lips, without responding.
He saw James Sterling and them first; what’s wrong with greeting them first!
Mrs. Sterling was so different from the impression he had, or perhaps this was the real Mrs. Sterling.
Standing by the pool, looking at the water’s sparkling surface under the lights, he thought about things from a long, long time ago.
Growing up in the old house of the Sterling Family, he knew early on that he was different from Eldest Master and Second Master.
It seemed Mr. and Mrs. Sterling had deliberately left him with his grandparents, while Eldest Master and Second Master often came to the old house but would either go back to Deepwood at night or return home after staying for two days.
He waited and waited until he was ten years old before he was brought back here.
Mr. Sterling was very strict about his studies and character.
Mrs. Sterling focused on Felicity, not caring much about his matters.
He wanted their attention, so he studied desperately, once overworked himself to the point of falling ill.
Mr. Sterling happened not to be home, so he went to Mrs. Sterling, telling her that he wasn’t feeling well.
Mrs. Sterling listened calmly, saying she had to take Felicity to piano lessons and told a servant to take him to the hospital.
