Mr. Fairchild's Rose: She is Wild and Proud-Chapter 96: The One I Like
Director Dayne laughed heartily, "Don’t you dislike these furry animals? And yet you have a cat?"
Julian Fairchild glanced at Maeve Lane, whose ears were already tinged red, paused for a moment or two, then lifted his head and spoke in a slightly deepened voice, "I like them."
Maeve Lane felt a slight tremor in her heart.
Neither Sarah Sutton nor the others noticed Maeve Lane’s abnormality; their attention was focused on Julian Fairchild and his cat, laughing as they said, "This cat is a bit fierce, Fairchild, you’d better be careful not to get scratched."
"Mm-hmm."
Maeve Lane unscrewed the cap and took a sip of milk, "I’m feeling a bit unwell, I’m going to rest for a bit."
"Are you okay?" Sarah Sutton quickly leaned over, eyeing Maeve Lane up and down, "Do you want me to take you to see someone?"
"Just a bit dizzy, I’ll be fine after a nap." Maeve Lane explained briefly, "I’m off then."
"Okay."
Seeing Maeve Lane leave, Julian Fairchild spoke with Director Dayne for a while and then left with Miles Hughes.
Sarah Sutton and Nina Quinn stayed in the tent, while she opened her phone, surfing online, the system pushed her the super topic of Maeve Lane and Julian Fairchild again. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
She coughed once, then opened the super topic.
Last time, she only saw that video and felt... it was quite gripping.
Wonder what else there was.
...
Almost forgot something important.
Maeve Lane returned to her hotel room. After swiping in with her key card, she started rummaging through her bag.
Sure enough, it wasn’t there.
She didn’t remember if she’d brought birth control pills; she was just looking on the off chance, but not finding them now left her a little panicked.
Who knew her and Julian Fairchild’s first day here would...
So much time had passed already, if she didn’t take it now, it would be too late.
Maeve Lane thought for a while, then removed her makeup and hairstyle. Since the photos were taken earlier and Director Dayne had seen them, taking them off now shouldn’t be a problem.
With that thought, she moved quickly. After removing her makeup and hairstyle, Maeve Lane considered that the crew was gossip-prone; if discovered, it would surely cause unnecessary trouble. So, after hesitating for a moment, she walked over to Julian Fairchild’s room door.
She remembered; she had kicked his door broken.
For some reason, a drunken Maeve Lane had absolutely no resistance to Julian Fairchild.
Back in university, she clung to him after drinking, and now, even tipsy, she could find him.
Julian Fairchild was like a magnet to her.
When leaving in the morning, Julian Fairchild had called Miles Hughes to have someone fix the door, it’s unknown if it had been repaired yet.
His room, coincidentally, was right next to Maeve Lane’s, and once she stepped out, she saw the door still on the verge of collapse, looking rather desolate.
It hadn’t been fixed yet.
She breathed a sigh of relief, used a little strength, and easily opened it.
Entering Julian Fairchild’s room, Maeve Lane found a set of men’s clothes in his wardrobe. Both the pants and shirt were a bit big, so she tied a simple knot, tucked the pants into her boots, and donned a black hat and mask.
Now, not to mention recognizing her, with Maeve Lane’s height of 1.7 meters plus the boot heels, even standing in front of Sarah Sutton, she probably couldn’t tell if it was a man or a woman.
Maeve Lane checked herself in the mirror, very satisfied with the disguise. If she went out in her own clothes, it might leak in the future, but this outfit was perfectly suitable for now.
She closed the wardrobe door and tucked her hair into a hairnet before stuffing it into the hat.
All set and ready to go, Maeve Lane turned to leave, only to find someone already standing at the doorway.
Julian Fairchild was calmly observing, his arms crossed, with deep eyes that showed neither joy nor sorrow, devoid of any emotion as he looked at her.
