Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 1061 - 1057: If You Don’t Want to Stay in This House, Then Get Out!
Josephine Hawthorne was hitting and cursing at Beatrice Hargrave, while Beatrice, just in her early twenties and still in her rebellious phase, would not sit idly by. Ignoring that Josephine was her elder, she dodged and struck back.
In an instant, the two women, one old and one young, got into a fight.
Henry Hargrave stood inside the bedroom door, his temple throbbing with anger, his face clouded with discontent as he shouted, "Stop it!"
Yet, the two women who were wrestling wouldn’t listen. Josephine grabbed Beatrice’s hair with one hand and swung the other down. Beatrice tilted her head to endure the pain, grabbing Josephine’s wrist that was pulling her hair with one hand, intercepting her slap with the other, and then pulling her closer to bite her.
With a scream of "Ouch...," Josephine let go of Beatrice’s hair. Having suffered a loss, Hannah Hargrave got up from the floor to help, but before she could, Henry rushed over in a few strides, rescuing his wife from Beatrice’s grasp and forcefully tossed her. Beatrice stumbled back a few steps and hit the bed.
Her ribs on the back side hit the edge of the bed, causing sharp pain. Beatrice grunted, supporting herself on the bed frame with one hand and clutching the sore spot with the other, her brows furrowing in pain.
"Beatrice, I’ve spent so much money nurturing you not for you to repay me with ingratitude. If you don’t want to stay in this house, then get out!"
Beatrice, clutching her injured waist, gritted her teeth and stood up, defiantly facing Henry’s obvious rage, saying, "Fine, I’ll leave. I’ve survived this long without you in my life!"
After saying this, amid the angry glares of the three, she grabbed her phone and stormed out of the house.
The ribs on her back were in pain, but it did not match the hurt in her heart. She knew that man only had eyes for his wife and daughter; even if they provoked her first, she would still be the one reprimanded in the end.
Exiting the gates of the villa complex, Beatrice hung her head, hugging her shoulders as she wandered aimlessly forward, her previously tied ponytail now a mess from the scuffle with Josephine.
Walking on aimlessly, before she realized it, the night had completely fallen. Beatrice stood by the roadside looking around, only seeing the occasional private car heading towards the villa complex.
Regretting her impulsive exit, she knew she wouldn’t return. Even though she was living under someone else’s roof, she still had her own pride to uphold. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Taking a deep breath, it was her own weakness, blaming herself for not knowing how to endure. Now, having acted impulsively, she had nowhere to go.
She thought of calling Nicholas Croft, hesitated for a long time on the number on the screen but didn’t dial. People often tend to have the habit of not wanting those they care about most to see them at their worst.
After some thought, she found Titus Zane’s number and dialed it. Since she came back, the person she was closest to was her.
Initially, she just wanted to ask Titus to accompany her, but hearing she was alone, Titus immediately invited her to the hotel she was staying in. After hanging up, Beatrice tidied her ponytail to make herself look less disheveled, then stood by the roadside waiting for a car heading to the city to pass.
A few minutes later, a car drove up towards her. Beatrice stood by the roadside and raised her hand. The driver was a woman, and perhaps since Beatrice was a girl, she stopped. After a brief exchange, she let Beatrice get in the car, and headed towards the city.
