Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 1060 - 1056: If Your Man Can’t Keep You, Who’s to Blame?
"Sophie Foster, get back here immediately!" In her anger, Hannah Hargrave directly called Beatrice Hargrave by her original name, placing one hand on her waist as Nicholas Croft’s words echoed in her eardrums, her chest heaving unmistakably.
Beatrice Hargrave didn’t know what kind of fouled breeze Hannah was in, and she casually glanced at the teacher drinking water in the rest area. Catching the teacher’s gaze, she curved her lips into a harmless smile. "Sis, if you’re sick, take your meds. I still need to practice, so I won’t chat with you now, bye~"
With that said, not giving Hannah the chance to continue talking, she directly hung up. Before putting away her phone, she thought about it and switched it to silent mode. Although she disliked training with the teacher all day, she preferred that over listening to Hannah’s madness.
It was nearly six by the time Beatrice returned home from the practice studio. As she planned to indulge in a hot bath after returning to her room, Hannah barged in as soon as she took off her jacket. Approaching with a fierce stance, she loudly questioned, "Beatrice, why did you spend the night at Nicholas’s house? Why would you deliberately get close to him knowing he’s my man?"
Beatrice despised Hannah’s haughty demeanor the most, letting out a disdainful snort. "What do you mean by ’your man’? He’s nothing more than secondhand goods that I used and discarded!"
"Beatrice, you really have no shame!" Hannah cursed loudly in fury and immediately raised her wrist. Seeing Hannah’s palm coming towards her, Beatrice instinctively dodged to the side.
Her face avoided the disaster, but her head wasn’t so lucky. With a crisp smack, Hannah’s palm landed on the top left side of her head, the force in her anger making Beatrice’s brain buzz with a loud ringing.
Clutching her head and looking at Hannah with a mix of anger and grievance, Beatrice glared at her and furiously questioned, "What right do you have to hit me? If your man can’t keep himself, who’s to blame?"
Hannah knew there was nothing possible between Nicholas and Beatrice, after all, they had only met recently. But who made Nicholas act that way towards her, and Beatrice just had to spend a night at his house, hence all her pent-up resentment was vented on Beatrice.
"Beatrice, this slap today is a warning. In the future, stay away from Nicholas. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, if I ever find out you’re with him again—"
"And what if I’m with him again? If you have the guts, keep him tied to your side and not let any woman near him!" Beatrice cut off Hannah’s words rebelliously. The argument between the sisters was loud, and as she finished speaking, Hannah raised her wrist again.
This time, Beatrice refused to sit idly by and pushed Hannah back with a raised hand.
Caught off guard, Hannah staggered a few steps back and let out a surprised cry, landing flat on her backside on the floor.
"Mia, what are you doing?"
Henry Hargrave walked into the bedroom to this scene: Hannah awkwardly sitting on the floor, while Beatrice looked down at her, chin raised like a defiant rooster.
"Dad, look, this is the obedient daughter you always speak of," Hannah, seeing her father enter, put on a wronged expression, sitting on the floor and accusing first.
Josephine Hawthorne followed behind Henry. Seeing her daughter being bullied, how could she stand it? She brushed past her husband and charged at Beatrice, cursing and hitting as she went. "You little bitch, I provided for you, gave you shelter, kindly took you in, and you bully my daughter. Today, I’ll teach you a lesson for your ingratitude, for bullying my daughter..."
