Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 68 - : Forget It
Chapter 68 - 68: Forget It
To avoid any misunderstandings later, she took a quick photo of him.
Then, she pulled out a silver needle from her purse.
Carefully, she pricked a small wound on his index finger. Dark blood oozed out.
Chantelle took out her lipstick and doodled a tortoise on Daniel's chest.
Amused, she snapped another picture.
An hour later, Daniel slowly regained consciousness. His fever was gone, but his irritation flared up as soon he realized he was drenched in an ice bath.
Standing up to get out, he noticed someone sitting against the wall.
Chantelle had fallen asleep while waiting for him to recover. Her arms were crossed tightly, and her body shivered slightly from the cold.
Daniel chose not to wake her. Instead, he dried himself off with a towel and gently carried her to the bed.
As soon as she felt the softness of the mattress and the warmth of the blanket, she drifted into a deep sleep.
The next morning, sunlight warmed Chantelle's skin, waking her up. But as she stretched, she froze instantly— there was a hand resting on her chest.
Startled, she yanked the blanket away.
"Daniel!" Chantelle yelled.
Daniel slowly opened his eyes and said, "Good morning, Ms. Chantelle..."
"Good morning to your sleepy head! Hurry up and get up!" Chantelle urged him.
"Okay," Daniel replied as he threw off the blankets and stood up.
Chantelle was surprised again as she saw Daniel in his underwear. His fit body was right there in front of her. She couldn't say a word.
"Excuse me, I don't remember what happened last night, and my clothes were soaked. I'm sorry for making your bed wet..." Daniel said.
Chantelle was really angry. If she hadn't drawn a tortoise on Daniel's chest, she would have kicked him so hard he might have landed in another country.
"Forget it. You're lucky I'm kind-hearted. Sometimes I let stray dogs sleepover, so it's not a big deal. Hurry and get dressed. You're not staying for breakfast," Chantelle insisted and rolled her eyes.

Kane walked into the living room on the first floor of the Western Hill Villa with Ashton.
When he woke up and saw that his Mommy wasn't there, he felt really sad.
But he got excited when he heard Ashton say they were going to pick Daniel up from Ms. Chantelle's house.
He jumped into the car with Ashton without even changing his clothes.
"I'm so sorry for showing up like this, but young Railer really wanted to see his daddy, so I brought him along..." Ashton said, holding Daniel's clothes.
He looked a bit embarrassed as he watched Railer sit at the breakfast table and start eating as if he were at home.
Ashton felt incredibly stressed.
Railer had changed a lot since he got lost. His social skills had gotten much better. He had only been there a few minutes, but he was already acting like he lived there.
"Oh, don't worry about it. Ms. Chantelle really loves kids. She'll be happy to see Railer here," Calvin said cheerfully as he made Kane's favorite breakfast.
He knew he was stretching the truth.
He usually comes over every morning to help Chantelle with breakfast. But today, he only finds out Daniel has stayed overnight when he sees Ashton and Kane.
He was really curious about it, but Chantelle was still asleep, and he didn't want to disturb her.
"Mr. Wright, I bet you haven't had breakfast yet. Why not join us?"
"I..." Ashton looked uncomfortable. He was actually very hungry.
After Daniel went missing yesterday, he organized a search party, and they looked for him all night. He was really hungry now!
"Uncle Ashton, come and try Uncle Calvin's pancakes. They're really good!"
"Well...alright then, I'll have some, if you don't mind, Mr. Jones." Ashton's face turned beet red as he hesitantly walked over to the breakfast table.
Daniel was the first to come downstairs.
He hadn't changed, so he was still in yesterday's slightly damp trousers and thin shirt.
The top two buttons of his shirt were open, showing off much of his muscular chest, which gave him a somewhat noble and carefree look.
"Daddy!" When Kane saw Daniel coming down the stairs, he quickly jumped down from his chair and ran to him as fast as his little legs would go.
"Rai? How did you get here?" Daniel was quite surprised to see his son.
Still, he bent down and picked up the little boy.
"Uncle Ashton said you were here. I wanted to see you, so I came with him. Why are you here, Daddy?"
"Daddy wasn't feeling well yesterday, so I came to see your Auntie Chantelle."
Kane thought that made sense; his Mommy was always good at helping people feel better. But he was puzzled about what kind of sickness made him need a big turtle drawn on his chest!
"I've got some clean clothes for you, sir." When Ashton saw the turtle drawn in lipstick on Daniel's chest, he almost choked on his oatmeal.
It took him a moment to compose himself before he could stand and hand Daniel his clothes.
Daniel went to change clothes as if everything was normal.
When he returned, he was hungry enough that Calvin made him a big stack of pancakes for breakfast.
When Ashton saw his usually distant and formal boss sitting with everyone at the table, enjoying pancakes, he couldn't believe his eyes.

Was there anyone who could explain what had happened last night? He half-wondered if someone who looked like Daniel had taken his place!
Surely, his boss hadn't been taken over by some strange force, had he?
Just then, Chantelle came downstairs and halted her steps when she saw the warm, family-like scene in the dining room.
She was speechless for a moment.
"Daniel Wilson! Why are you still here?"
Ten minutes later, Daniel and Ashton were quickly sent out of the house.
Kane watched from the large French windows as Chantelle shooed them away, giving a forced wave that seemed sympathetic.
"Sir, is it really okay to leave Railer here?" Ashton asked, worried.
Chantelle was a woman with too many secrets, and they hadn't fully checked out her background yet.
"It's fine," Daniel replied. He felt that Railer should spend more time with his birth mother right now. He walked away from the villa feeling surprisingly light-hearted, even though Chantelle had kicked him out.
Besides, leaving Railer there meant he could pick him up later that evening.
That way, he could achieve two goals at once!
