Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 90: Meeting The Concubine (I)
After putting on the final diamond earring to complete her look, Ruela was finally satisfied with her appearance. She had always been beautiful even without adornments. But now, she was even more stunning.
She was absolutely certain that the Beast King would be pleased with her appearance and unable to resist her. In fact, Ruela worried more about the opposite, that Kael might lose control and pounce on her in the middle of the banquet.
If that happened, there would be nothing she could do but accept him as they mated, and the rest of the guests would have to vacate the palace grounds immediately.
Ruela sighed pitifully. "I pity the bear chefs. They worked so hard on the banquet, and everything will go to waste because Kael won’t be able to control himself when he sees me. I should apologize to them once everything is over."
She continued staring at her reflection, smiling softly. For some reason, she felt as though she was growing more beautiful with every passing second.
’Ah, it can’t be helped,’ she thought. ’I’ve been blessed by the Moon Goddess. Of course I’ll continue to grow more beautiful.’
Ruela knew she wasn’t vain, yet it was difficult not to feel proud when life favored her so generously. She even wondered if it was possible to be any luckier.
’Oh, Moon Goddess, I know you love this child dearly. But is it truly all right to make me this lucky and this gorgeous? What if another powerful being like the Beast King desires me? I wouldn’t want to cause a kingdom’s downfall just because of my beauty...’
In the end, Ruela merely smiled at her reflection and murmured, "I can’t wait for the mighty Beast King to come and see me."
A knock sounded at the door as Leah announced, "Miss, the guards said the Beast King is almost at the palace gate. You should wait in the banquet hall to greet him personally."
"Yes!"
Ruela rose and swayed her hips as she walked toward the door.
When she opened it, Leah was already waiting outside, dressed in the second-hand gown Ruela had given her. Ruela didn’t want her maid to appear too humble. After all, she now served the royal concubine.
Leah gasped when she saw her mistress. "If you look this stunning, Miss. I’m afraid the banquet won’t last even a second before the Beast King carries you off to his den."
Ruela’s cheeks flushed, making her look even more charming.
"I’ll have to apologize to the high-ranking beastmen, the chefs, and the guards after I’ve mated with our King," Ruela sighed dramatically.
"It can’t be helped, Miss. Remember, you’ve been blessed by the Moon Goddess and the faeries, which means—"
"I deserve the best the world can offer," Ruela interrupted with a giggle. "You don’t need to remind me again, Leah. You repeat it so often. Come, let’s go greet our King." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Ruela walked ahead, Leah following closely behind.
The guards lining the corridor stared in astonishment. The concubine usually dressed simply when the Beast King wasn’t present, so this dazzling appearance left no doubt in their minds.
Many quietly assumed that another prince or princess would soon be on the way.

As Kael and his entourage entered the palace gates, he immediately noticed the guards’ strange expressions. They still cheered for him, but their nervousness was obvious, especially when they saw Sisi seated in his arms.
Kael observed their gazes and realized they were stunned by Sisi’s appearance. Instinctively, he scowled.
He disliked the way they looked at her.
Sisi was far too ravishing for her own good. It made him want to hide her deep within a den, ensuring no other man could lay eyes on her.
Why did he feel that way?
Obviously, it was because he didn’t want her causing trouble again. With beauty like hers, she could easily spark conflict among the men of his kingdom.
After all, tales of a king’s downfall caused by a bewitching beauty were as old as time.
’It would be better if she stayed hidden in my den,’ Kael thought. ’That way she won’t see other men, and I can keep an eye on her.’
He quickly dismissed the idea. He had never shared his den with a woman. It had always been just him and Jojo... perhaps someday, if the Moon Goddess graced him, he could find his fated mate, and they could live together in his den.
The guards’ awe soon turned to fear as they cast uneasy glances toward the banquet hall, as though something dangerous lurked within.
Kael paid it no mind. If anyone dared to ambush him during such a joyous occasion, he would ensure they suffered a fate worse than death.
Thus, he strode confidently toward the banquet hall, fearless as ever.
The moment he entered, however, he saw none other than his hastily appointed concubine—Ruela—standing at the center of the hall as if she was the host.
She wore a sultry gown that exposed her shoulders and deep cleavage. The dress flowed to her ankles, but a high slit revealed her thighs.
She had adorned herself with countless gemstones woven into her hair and stitched into her dress, making her appearance excessively shiny—almost gaudy, in fact.
Worse still, she wore an overwhelming floral perfume. The cloying sweetness filled the hall, assaulting Kael’s sensitive nose and making him scrunch his face several times in discomfort.
Ruela’s lips curved into a sweet smile when she first saw the Beast King. But that smile turned awkward when she noticed the little prince looking at her.
Then, her heart turned cold the moment her eyes locked in with the the woman sitting in Kael’s arm.
The woman wore a worn leather cloak over her shoulders, a yellowed tunic, and looked undeniably exhausted.
Yet despite all those shortcomings, her face was devastatingly beautiful. So much so that Ruela paled in comparison, like a dirty worm looking a the beautiful moonlight.
Sisi raised an eyebrow as she looked at the sultry woman clearly waiting for Kael, then smiled at her kindly.
And that smile—
That damn smile—
Was enough to plunge Ruela’s heart into the depths of oblivion.
