Chapter 73: Assassin Brotherhood

The journey from Crystalized Stone Town to the Golden Gate Kingdom’s capital city, Golden Card City, was safe. And nothing major occurred except some annoying monsters that he agroed when he got a bit closer to Lake Forest’s edge, and they detected him.

The most annoying part about the journey itself is the duration it took someone to reach the capital city of the kingdom...it took him 2.5 hours of continuous running with only some rest here and there to refresh his mind to be thirty minutes away from the capital.

Running was taxing on players, and stamina couldn’t be depleted yet, but if he overdid it, his mind would become foggy, and many things would start feeling off to him. Such a thing would force him to go offline and reset his five senses, as the human brain wasn’t made to run for such a long duration.

Hence, he took some rest here and there to shake off that feeling.

Not having a mount was the most frustrating thing for Yone, and he knew the blessing people felt after level 40 would come later in the game. Having to run such long durations and even walk was tiring by itself, much less fight bandits and other things.

Indeed!

It should be known that the AI made sure to make the game as real and hard as possible; hence, bandits, monsters, and other similar situations one would read about in fantasy novels all existed in the game.

This is the reason in the first place that one needed level 10 to travel to the capital city. After all, if one didn’t have such a level and means to protect himself, then by no means would he ever reach the city unless he had bodyguards.

Even a party of 10 players around the levels of 7 to 9 wouldn’t reach the capital city without wiping, much less solo players.

The reason for that was the bandits’ level...the bandits around the capital were all beyond level 10, with a minimum level of 14, which made it impossible for anyone below level 10 to cross it on foot or alone.

To make matters even worse, Yone himself shouldn’t be doing this since if he met those bandits, he would have been sent back to the fountain hall in no time, and he would need to have a group before crossing the forest.

Well, he was truly not worried about bandits much as he had the Absolute Invisibility spell and could flee any time he wanted.

If worst comes to worst? He would just one-shot a guy using Shadow Step, appear behind him with terrifying bonuses, and one-shot him into his death so the others run away.

NPCs were indeed not that intelligent as of now, but such reactions were still implemented in them, and even monsters would run if they felt danger in the wild, much less human bandits that are supposedly smarter.

For this reason alone, Yone felt confident and traveled alone without bothering to wait for Rage, Silent Wall, and Swift Slash to reach level 10 and accompany him.

He was even smiling all the way to his destination, joyful about taking such a big lead over anyone else.

As he was busy singing in his head and creating all the different scenarios, he couldn’t help but recall the contents of the chain quest of the assassins’ brotherhood.

This time, the quest was simple, with just a description, unlike the other ones, which had a bunch of things on them, from rank to penalties.

Description: Meet the hidden envoy of the Royal Palace in front of the Golden Gate Kingdom capital city. Upon seeing the contents of the information he will give you, it is upon you to abandon the mission altogether or keep on going on this path.

System Note: The mission can affect kingdoms if not more, so choose wisely. Rewards are calculated based on your performance.

Yone shuddered reading through the description and the note. He knew unique quests were terrifying and their rewards were beyond imagination, but he also knew the penalties that followed, which the note didn’t mention.

’I can’t keep thinking with the same way as my past life, I need to grow stronger and only by taking great risks will l be able to do so.’

Currently, Anonymous and HealtheWorld were sipping a cup of tea with a small debuff that aided in their experience and conversed with each other.

"Little sister, what do you think we should do in this situation? The information Requiem gave us was accurate, and we managed to get our hands on two of the passives, but..."

Ano was worried as the image of his big brother entered his vision.

"You are worried about our big brother, aren’t you?" HealtheWorld said with a chuckle," Don’t be ignorant, I’m confident that once he saw what Requiem said was true to his word and his money wasn’t wasted, he would drop all of his plans, just wait and see."

"So we won’t target him?" Ano asked worriedly.

"Yes, in fact, we will most likely receive orders to aid him any time soon."

Ano’s body relaxed hearing his sister’s words, and his expression greatly eased.

Leaning on a tree trunk, an assassin was playing with both his daggers, looking at the woman before him with a frown," We already spoke about this in our agreement, girl. If you insist on taking action, then I won’t be there to support you."

"I know about the agreement, but my friend is suffering every single cause of his, can’t you go back on your words?" The girl was fuming with rage, her face ugly as she didn’t like the new orders she had just received.

"Calm Sea, oh Calm Sea. Or should I better call you Amy?"

Hearing the last word he uttered, Amy’s body shuddered and her breath stopped," How..."

The assassin called Night closed the gap between them in the blink of an eye, placed his index finger on her lips," Shhh, how I knew about such information is none of your business, what you need to understand is that targeting Requiem is off the table right now."

"I..." Amy was about to respond, but her words were interrupted by a dagger that kissed her neck, a trail of blood dropping to the ground.

"You see, I like the realistic gameplay of Eclipse Online, but let me warn you."

Night circled behind her, his lips curled into a smile as he said with a playful tone.

"If you dare place your hand on him and create necessary problems between me and him, your useless boyfriend can forget existing."

"I...I understand." Amy uttered with difficulty, her mind had countless thoughts running inside of it, but she still found no clue on how he managed to know about her real identity. Wasn’t the AI supposed to protect it?
