Chapter 74: All Sides Decisions

’I can’t risk his life, Serina will have to deal with this by herself with her father’s help only,’ Amy clicked her tongue before she left to do her own thing.

Leaning back against the tree trunk, Night waved his hand and called a person in the VIP section," It’s done, I cut off the leak as promised. Don’t forget your part of the deal."

On the other side of the call, a gentle voice like a melody sounded.

"I appreciate it, our partnership is as promised, and we will join hands to tackle the hell mode dungeon and use it to strengthen both our guilds." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Good, very good," Night said, but before the girl was about to hang up, silence descended, and he couldn’t help but raise a question.

"Tell me, Life, is there a reason you wanted my leak gone even though you were the one who chose her and approved of her and no harm will inflict Requiem?"

Silence...

Then...

"That bitch dared to have thoughts about my beloved Requiem and was even looking at him with lustful eyes, praising him non-stop and even running after him later on behind my back to help him farm."

Life’s voice was filled with rage, her tone cold as she continued.

"She cannot be allowed to get close to him anymore! He is mine and mine alone and no bitch no matter who she is would dare claim him for herself!"

’Scary, I’ll make sure to befriend Requiem as soon as possible,’ Night wiped the sweat off his forehead as he vowed never to harbor the idea of endangering the guy again.

Life stopped before she controlled her emotions and spoke," Sorry for that, I got angry when I recalled her actions. Also, that’s pretty much it."

"I see, well, see you soon, and congratulations on your new seat, guild master of Iron Fang," Night said in a low voice before he hung up.

Inwardly, however, he couldn’t help but think as a chill ran down his spine,’ A tsudenre at its finest. From being tough and cold and accepting my request, then turning soft and sweet the moment she felt threatened in her position that was built up.’

On the lake’s shore, and as a team of five was busy tackling three big crabs at once, Killing Machine, who was busy dishing out huge amounts of damage, suddenly got a message from the few most important people on his friend list.

"Guild Leader, one of our shareholders is asking us to erase Requiem from existence or else he will cut off all of his funding and stop the building of our new office in the central city of Black Dragon."

Killing Machine wasn’t bothered by the call as he kept attacking and replied," His shares?"

"45%; he is one of our biggest shareholders." The other guy on the phone spoke slowly, his breath quickening as he knew the order his guild master would give.

The guy just had two orders, and this one was predictable as usual.

"Wait, once we reach the city, Requiem has hidden his level from the leaderboard a while ago, and no one knows his progression. Let’s first take a foothold inside Golden Card City first and then we will deal with him."

"First hit his reputation, then hit him." Killing Machine’s words were less serious as he didn’t place the guy in his eyes in the first place, as if he was talking about a random level 3 player.

’In the first place, why even bother to threaten the shares? We are an assassin guild, you stinky old man, just give us some money, and Under the Veil guild will take care of him with a smile.’

Killing Machine sneered, but he didn’t mind since, after this incident is over, that old man will have to pay a hefty price for forcing their hand on something like this.

Golden-Gate Kingdom Region System Announcement: Congratulations to player ’Requiem’ for becoming the first player in Golden-Gate Kingdom to arrive at a city! Rewarding 20 Reputation Points in Golden Card City and the title of Honorary Citizen of Golden Card.

"What is this?" Killing Machine immediately froze, shocked, after listening to this system announcement. Only three to four seconds passed before his mind processed the information, and questions instantly filled his mind one after the other.

How did Requiem reach Level 10 so quickly when not even 48 hours inside the game have passed?

The EXP required to go from Level 9 to Level 10 was several times that of the EXP needed to jump from Level 8 to Level 9. Even for the upper echelons of super guilds, the most heaven-defying were only at 70% or so of Level 8 at this moment. Yet, Requiem had already reached Level 10.

It should be known that if super guilds’ upper echelons were at such a level, then the first-rate guilds that were likewise renowned for their terrifying foundations were merely around the levels of 7 to 6 mark.

To reach level 10 and catch up to Requiem, it would take them hours upon hours of permanent grinding!

This also meant that Requiem had reached Level 10 and would get an even bigger leap of levels from here on, and get to do quests much earlier than anyone else.

Regarding an independent player, such a leveling speed was simply unimaginable.

"Boss Killing Machine, not good! A new post about Requiem has appeared on the forums, and it is filled with all sorts of reverence for Requiem, with many even pushing him to start a guild and fight the other guilds and stop their rule!"

Killing Machine hurriedly opened the official forums.

However, upon checking the messages by the hundreds sent each minute, his heart froze and he couldn’t help but curse his shareholder.

"From all times and all people to issue an assassination order, for you chose this specific timing and guy?" Killing Machine’s face turned ugly, his teeth grinding against one another.

He wasn’t dumb; being an assassin guild didn’t mean targeting each and every player.

Some players and guilds were a full stop ’No’ for them.

Such a rule was simple...

If one loss outweighs the benefits, then targeting someone like that isn’t possible!

It just wasn’t smart.
