The voice echoed calmly through the entire hall.

Yet, though clear and even melodious, the commanders' hearts sank into their chests, all attention turning to him.

He was a man, not wearing a uniform like the others, but donning a pitch-dark robe that covered him fully, leaving his face revealed.

And even then, half his face was covered, the only thing to be seen being his ruby red lips and sharp jaw.

"As much as we Nvidians do not consider humans who have taken a pact with the Nakros as no longer human."

"The vice versa is true for one who accuses another human wrongly of being a traitor, and the same punishment will be given to both… Death!"

He ended quietly, another wave of crawling silence descending.

"So, let's not have our mouths be the death of us…"

"Sir Asmodeus," a commander called out as the robed figure quietly turned to him.

"You have seen the anomaly this young man possesses, and I believe very well he has not gotten his power from the way we know it."

"Do you, sir, think there is another explanation other than Arcane?"

"Arcane…" the figure said, and in the next moment, he moved, his hands quietly reaching out.

The sight shocked the commanders.

The hands were translucent, almost as if they were made not of flesh, but of glass, and within that glass was something like a void.

A void of different colors of light.

Quietly, he reached his hands before them as they watched a ball of energy condense, rolling around in his palm, radiating starlight through the hall.

"Is an energy of our universe…"

He said.

"It does not originate from the Nakros; they were only blessed enough to be born with it."

"We humans hate it, partly because we were not so fortunate to be born with it, and because the ones who introduced us to this power are also seeking to snatch from us our life and world."

"These are the sole reasons for humanity's hatred against Arcane, and why we all think anyone seen controlling Arcane must somehow be in cahoots with the Nakros, hence a traitor, which is normally always right…"

He said quietly, the ball of starlight fading into the air before he took back his fingers.

"But is there anyone amongst you who will label me a traitor because I control Arcane?"

He asked quietly, and silence reigned in the room.

The commanders' hearts were reeling.

One, the one they all treated with absolute respect and no doubt the strongest among them, had just shown he controlled Arcane.

The sole energy of the enemy race.

That should have been enough to label him a traitor, but…

"Sir Asmodeus. You come from the prestigious Demonifix Family." A commander said,

"A family whose legacy has been rightfully built by having those from their bloodlines kill about 30% of the invading Nakros in the last centurion war."

"Even in this new war, you, sir, alone have managed a kill count of at least 57 Nakros, helping us, the TCF, take back two invaded human cities."

"Though it is indeed shocking that the Demonifix Family controls Arcane, the family legacy and your personal achievements precede anything."

A commander said respectfully.

"If that is so, then even though the only reasonable explanation this young man may hold is Arcane, I ask that we be patient before passing judgment on him."

"Confirm if he's truly in cahoots with the Nakros."

"If he's not, then humanity may have just gained another powerful ally in this war…"

"For what reason is he under the CHO radar?"

He asked, and a commander replied.

"Satellite tracking and cameras show he got into Cornando through a jet."

"We gathered the registration from the jet, and according to that… it came from X City."

"X City?" a commander mused.

"In a way, that alone already destroys half the probability that he works in cahoots with the Nakros."

"But, why did he come to Cornando?" another commander asked.

"That's a difficult question, and where things get blurry."

"A camera revealed him going into Lorianor and remaining for about a day or two."

"During this timeframe, a disturbing report of most thugs in Lorianor dying came."

"According to the reports, they all died from gunshots, and we indeed found a Corer amongst them."

"Judging from the bullet positioning, it's safe to say there had been an open shootout between that Corer and the thugs."

"What was confusing was that the Corer died not from a gun, like the thugs did or possessed, but from a sword slash, one to his throat and another that cleaved his head off his neck."

"Only a powerful Corer could have so easily gotten rid of another Corer."

"The CHO is performing its investigation on that, but that isn't why we're after him."

"His error came about three days after this happened in Lorianor."

"A golden monster roughly barged into the Mechara Organization in Lumint…"

The commander explained, pressing a button that quickly brought new footage to the screen.

That of a golden monster angrily wrecking through lines of defense and disappearing into the Mechara Organization, whose top was soon blown off, followed by the monster and another Corer.

"That other Corer has been reported to be named Eva Aramitsche, a personal bodyguard of one of the Seven High Staff of the Mechara Organization."

"She was killed in the end, and when asked why by our CHO officers, he claimed it was because she was a murderer."

"A fight broke out that resulted in a CHO officer being gravely injured, and since then, we've opened a full case on him."

"The monster's aura has been traced back to him, and since he's not exactly denying that, it's safe to say he's the one."

"He killed a Corer…"

A female commander said.

"Even if the Corer was a murderer, it is not in a human's hands, nor a Corer's, to bring death to another unless in self-defense, which clearly isn't the case here."

"He has committed a crime still, a grievous one, and his lack of sympathy toward those ordinary human guards defending Mechara only makes him further guilty of his sin!"
