Mecha Devourer System-Chapter 212: Corer’s Battle III
"Just how did he do that!?"
The thought rang in Salvatore's head as he looked down at his arms.
They were lined with nano plates, with nozzles sticking out of them, ready to fire energy.
Yet when he looked forward, just across from him, he could see the same thing.
Energy blasted out with power toward the rest of the others, coming from the same nozzles, except they weren't his.
They belonged to him, Everlearn.
The others tried to stop him, bombarding him with attacks left and right, yet they were all blasted backward.
Even with him never having activated a Mech Module, he had still been able to prevent himself from being overwhelmed by them.
Yet now that he had the most destructive Mech Module among them, all his power surged to a point where they were the ones struggling to hold him down.
"The Base mentioned that he was either a monster born from Nakros' genetic fusion with a human, or he was fused with a Forbidden-Grade Mech Module."
"But right now, he has yet to even reveal that."
Watching the fight like an audience member, Salvatore was quick to notice.
"We… we can't beat him."
His mates were struggling, teeth clenched as they tried to resist the devastating energy attacks from the nozzles, yet all he had was a grin on his lips.
Their attacks had zero effect on him.
He didn't bleed, only flew back, and in the next moment, he was on the run again, his momentum not having halted in even the slightest, while his mates were already starting to move sluggishly from the attacks.
"It's beyond me how such a powerful being could exist at such an age."
"What's more is his capability to copy a different Mech Module for himself, though he does seem very limited to only the two techniques I was able to show back then."
"My ultimate attack should kill him, but if he survives, it will greatly backfire on us, and he could potentially one-shot us all to death…"
He thought quietly, a gleaming crimson glass in his eyes recording the entire fight, and quietly he muttered,
"I'm sure you're seeing this too, Commanders. What do you say…?"
______________
Within a dim room, with the only lighting coming from the projection on the wide wall.
There was a long table where men and women dressed in official wear sat, their eyes all focused on the battle that was unfolding before them.
All of a sudden, it paused, a hand outstretched, pressing a button.
"He's toying with them…"
A female commander said right after.
"Well, that's pretty obvious. And he also seems to be experimenting around with Salvatore's Mech Module…"
A thicker male voice said as a comment.
"You can almost see his own fascination on his face. That shows he never possessed that Mech Module at all."
"So that's his power. Ability to copy others' Mech Modules with a touch," another commander said quietly.
"That's a fact."
"Do we even have such a Mech Module right now?"
Another commander asked.
"We do,"
A female commander said.
"It's on the forbidden list, as it requires fusing with instantaneous morph nano-tech to imitate the copied module, and also requires adjusting energy for copied Mech Modules."
"There's the limitation of fusing with an entirely shifting exoskeleton, requiring almost all human parts to be gone, which already steps into the Forbidden region, and then there are the various nano energies that have to flow, nuclear, plasma, bionic."
"Such an amount in a human body will just lead to the creation of a monster that can go BANG at any time."
"Besides, copying Mech Modules has its pitfalls."
"The Corer has to have enough intelligence to be able to use such a Mech Module in combat."
"Using Mech Module abilities takes even a normally fused Mech Corer years of familiarity."
"How could one who copied it just now be smart enough to use it in battle right then?"
She asked.
"Well, there's one before us right now, isn't there?"
Another commander said, and she nodded.
"Yes. So you can all mark it down that his intelligence is at least three times greater than the average human."
"And by the fact that he does not at all seem robotic, and appears perfectly human."
"Then he's not fused with the current Mech Module Grade that we have."
"What...what do you mean?"
"I mean that he's fused with something that we should only possess after a hundred years of growth in Mech Technology from now."
She finished, leaving the room in a crawling silence.
"Not to mention," another female commander said.
"He has been holding his own against all seven before he copied Salvatore's."
"His strength, raw speed, and reaction are far, far beyond peak human, and surpass even a V-grade Corer."
"While this might be overlooked because each of us in this room can accomplish the same feat relatively easily."
"It is worth noting that the weakest among us is fused with a U-grade Core."
"The young man only has an X-grade Core beating within him."
"Even if he had activated a Mech Module and fused with the most anomalous X-grade Core."
"The energy in an X-grade Core should not sustain the feat he's performing right now for more than a minute, yet there he is, still fighting with a grin."
"Are you trying to say…" a commander said, pausing, and the lady continued.
"His Corer status is a façade," she dropped the bomb.
"He's not using his Core for power, nor does his power rely on Cores."
"It is most likely nothing but a façade to hide the explanation for his power."
"I bet if that Core is removed, he would be perfectly fine and still be at the same strength as he is right now."
She ended.
"So he's not a Corer."
Another Commander noted.
"Well then, if he's not using the energy of Cores to grow, then the only other energy he could be using is…"
"Arcane!"
"Tch. Damn traitor!"
A commander spat out angrily, but in the next moment, silence descended onto the entire hall as a hand was raised from the one who sat right at the head of the table.
"Quickness of judgment is the sin of a fool…"
