Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 487: Excited To Meet An Old Friend
(Author’s POV)
"Halo Wareham, I did what you and that Vampire Elder asked of me," Nerissa said, looking straight in his ink-black eyes. Meanwhile, his men took off Chris’s clothes layer by layer, quite unceremoniously.
"Don’t you worry. Once we are done with this~ ... you will be duly rewarded," Halo said, an inexplicable glint flashed across his eyes as he fondled her head, then glanced at Chris’s body, who was now lying stark naked, humiliatingly, in the pool of his own blood, his face colourless, his body seemingly lifeless.
"Leave the clothes here and take him out," Halo ordered, as he turned around. He had just taken two steps when Nerissa said, "I will do it. I will be the one deep-sixing him."
Halo gave her a sideways glance and said, his tone full of suspicion, "Why? Why would you say that?"
"I want to make sure he is finished~ ... completely," she said, her tone filled with malice. "He had to pay for his master’s~ ... that Jacob Larson’s~ .... sins."
This brought a sinister smile to Halo’s lips as he murmured beside her ear, "For a mermaid, you are quite ruthlessly, hmmm, Nerissa." He then patted her shoulder and added, "Go ahead. Do it."
Nerissa started leaving with the men when Halo’s sudden voice stopped her, "Scrap him properly~ ... and don’t dare to cross me. Otherwise, you know the consequences damn well."
She nodded, "I’ll never betray my saviour." Saying this, she walked out.
As the door sealed, Halo’s gaze shifted from Nerissa’s back to the blood-soaked floor, "Tskkk~ ... the floor’s all dirty," He bent down, took out a borosilicate glass Pasteur pipette and collected some of Chris’s blood. He took a whiff of the bloody scent and started laughing, "Haha ... Hahahaha~ .... How utter bit of a fool you are, Chris Shadow. But~ .... thanks to you~ ... I will~ ...." He paused and left his sentence unsaid.
He then got up, and with a flick of his finger, the red liquid spilt on the floor vanished, turning the floor back to its original wooden state, shiny and flawless. "Dare to enter my den, my atelier, with such childish tricks. Hahh~ .... Anyways~ ... it’s been a long time since I have seen my friend. Why don’t I go and say ’hi’ to him? He sure will be happy to see me, won’t he?"

*Knock~ ... knock~ ... knock*
"Wait a minute. Comin’~ ...." Myra said as she walked towards the door. When she unlocked it, she saw Fabian standing there, his hands behind his back. "Fabian~ ... what are you doing here?" she asked with obvious confusion.
"I~ .... today~ ..." Fabian fumbled. He wanted to say many things, but now that he was standing in front of her, he couldn’t utter a single word properly.
Myra saw the hesitation in his eyes. She could tell he had something to say to her, something private, so she suggested casually, "Come inside." She then opened the door wide and went back to what she was doing.
For a fraction of a second, Fabian stood rooted on the spot as he licked his lips, his eyes flickering.
"Fabian~ .... aren’t you coming?" Myra called for him. Only then did he snap out and step inside. As soon as the door closed behind him, he became conscious, extremely conscious. It wasn’t because they were in the same space all alone. They have had countless situations like these, but~ ... this was the first time he had come to Myra’s room. The fresh scent of bathing soap and shampoo, mixed with her fruity, flowery fragrance, lingering in her room, was fogging his mind.
His eyes darted around the cozy looking room. It was just like its owner: comfortable, calm, pleasant, giving him a sense of serenity, security. It felt like home to him.
"Fabian~ ... are you alright? You seem dazed," Myra asked when she noticed he hadn’t said a word since coming in.
"I~ummm~ .... How are you feeling now?" he spoke.
"Doing much better," she replied, while searching for something inside her closet. "Why are you standing there stiffly? Take a seat," she added, gesturing him towards the empty study seat.
Fabian marched toward the chair, his back stiff and upright as he saw Myra. After the party was over, she had just taken a shower, as there were a few droplets around the nape of her neck. He kept gazing at her back fixatedly. All of a sudden, she turned around and asked, "So, tell me, what is it that you want to talk about?"
"Huhh? I wanted to talk?" he muttered, confused.
"You came to talk to me about something, right?" she remarked, looking straight in his amber eyes.
Fabian rubbed his earlobes awkwardly as he mumbled, "I did."
Seeing Myra’s softened attitude towards all the Everests brothers has sent multiple warning signals inside his brain circuit. It was okay until she kept all of them at bay and refused to talk to them, but now, with things panning out differently from his expectations, he didn’t want to wait any longer.
’I have to tell Myra about my feelings today~ ... no matter what. I have to tell her. Otherwise~ ...’ this was the thought when he knocked on her door.
"Then, go ahead," Myra said while taking a seat on her bed. She looked at him intently, waiting for him to speak.
"Myra~ .... I~ ... I have been meaning to tell you this for quite a while now. I~ ...." just as he was about to speak, Myra’s phone started chiming. William had bought her a new phone when she was in the hospital. She looked at the caller ID; it was an unknown number, so she decided not to pick up.
"So, what were you saying?" Myra asked, keeping the phone aside.
"I was saying that~ ..." he started again, ready to confess to her when a knock on the door interrupted them, "I am so sorry~ .... I’ll see who is it." She got up at once, and when she saw who was at the door, she said, "Mrs. Everests~ .... Alaric~ .... Elio~ ...."
Fabian, when he heard those names, got up at once. His fists tightening, his jaw locking in a grind.
