Chapter 84: Kissed By The Rogue Hands

[RANIA]

"Quit stalling, Rania. You’re no longer the alpha, and we can sense that you are not in agreement with your wolf. This gives you about seven more hours before you fall and die, that is if your wolf doesn’t show back and save your life not that we’d care though.

"We could just tell our boss that it was a mishap and that you pushed us to the core, wouldn’t you like that?" Oshita taunted, before walking away. He was painfully aware that the woman was a lock wall and she wouldn’t be easily broken.

He knew Rania so well and he knew why the woman was feared by most alphas. It wasn’t even because she was a psychotic alpha, no. It was because she had a strong mind, the king that couldn’t be easily manipulated.

She was Rania for a reason and this, right here, was just their attempt at breaking the woman who was unbreakable long before she had even gotten her wolf ro even her first rejection.

"I wouldn’t be that worried about me, Oshita. We both know I couldn’t care less whether I live or not. Besides, at this point, your face while trying to break me, makes me happier, especially the feeling of your barbaric men having their revenge," Rania said, the smile on her bruised face making itself known.

Oshita sighed and left Raia at the mercy of the other rogues who were taking turns in beating up Rania. She should have already folded, but then she was sturgeon, and that was technically the reason she was getting more punches.

The rogues wanted to make a statement and they wanted to be known as the people who broke Rania.

Three hours later, Rania was beaten and bruised, not to mention she looked like she had been walking in a theory forest, but one thing was certain with the rogues. Rania knew they had been sent by Nathaniel.

She hadn’t asked them, but the way they had focused on the spot she had stabbed Yanna on, was proof enough.

No one would be so invested in puncturing her kidney more than the vampire king, because Kim Rania had punctured Yanna’s kidney with her poisoned blade before the hybrid fell and died, instantly.

"She was a good woman, you know? All you had to do was love her,’’ Rania said when Onshita and his men had taken a break from hitting her. She had gotten the pain she wanted alright, and she looked worse than the prisoners in her Incayon dungeons.

That wasn’t bothering her at the moment though. At least she had something to distract her from the fact that she was hopelessly and utterly alone. She was also determined to erase Dalrae’s disappointed face from her head. However, that just didn’t want to go away.

Rania knew Dalrae was worried about her even more and she couldn’t put it past Dalrae to tell the warriors to come after her, which was also why Rania had made sure to command her parents to make sure that no wolf followed her to the palace.

Of course, the command would never apply to Dalrae, considering Rania had promised herself she would never command her best friend. She was her sister, the girl she adored more than life and she couldn’t just do that to her.

"Yeah, I know that, and I did love her, but you just had to scare her off," Oshita said and Rania just scoffed.

Oshita could hear the pain in Rania’s scoff and he knew his mission here was done.

The rogues were told to come and beat her up, and make it known that the Incayon alpha was roughed up by Incayon rogues. That way, the message would be clearer and the royal council would make sure that the rogues didn’t sneak into their homes again.

That was because rogues were banished for a reason, and it wasn’t because they were a little too kind to fit in the Obren community.

"Y’know it keeps getting interesting how the whole of Obren is determined to make me out to be a bad person. Anyway, the next time you meet her, you can ask her what happened, or maybe, I’d help you.

"However, I need water in exchange for that information," Rania said, her words coming out so slowly and strained. Her body was slowly giving up and at the time, she wasn’t even trying to fight it. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

She was done fighting. At least she would die away from home, so her people wouldn’t have to worry about pretending to give her a decent burial.

"On second thoughts, I don’t want the water, I just need you to make me a promise, and then I’ll tell you what happened to Doronjo and why she abandoned your ass," Rania said, piquing Oshita’s sudden interest.

He had always wanted to know why his woman had left, but Rania as usual had made herself seem like the bad guy. Well, she had taken advantage of the hate that the whole of Obren had towards her, and she had invested in it.

"Fine, just don’t lie. What’s it then?" Oshita said to Rania, the temptation to free her from the binds of the damn tree made him feel like the woman had had enough of the pain. But then he just couldn’t do that, at least not before she told him the truth.

Oshita knew Rania would still try to fight back and if she did, or if she called Dalrae, then Dalrae would come with Obren’s strongest and they would fight the rogues. That wasn’t what he wanted and he could tell that Rania didn’t want that either.

"If I die, from the harsh weather, or in a few hours from now, bury me away from the roadside, and make sure no one ever finds my grave. You can tell them I attacked the night beast and he ate me up.

"Just don’t let them take me back to Incayon, okay? I wouldn’t want my people to be haunted by my presence even in death," Rania let out and Oshita looked at her like she was screwed in the head.

Of course, she was, who was he kidding? Kim Rania was always going to be a piece of work and he more than anyone knew it. Only she could make absurd requests without even flinching even though it was the least bit comforting.

"You’re nuts. But hey, it’s your dying wish, how can I not fulfill it? So, what about Doronjo?" Oshita asked, looking around his people. He could tell that they were listening to him, but that wasn’t a problem.

They had been in Obren for five hours and the access that had been granted to them was six hours. So he would use the hour to get information that only Rania could give him.

"Doronjo never made it to the human lands, as I told you. I said that, so you wouldn’t think I banished you for the sake of your mate. You did kill your fellow wolves without remorse, which earned you the banishment.

"But Doronjo, she was killed by Kawika, the dead rogue. Everyone knows I killed Kawika, but they didn’t know why. I’m not telling you this so you could suddenly save me. I don’t want your help. I wanted the trial.

"You wanted to know about Doronjo, well there’s the truth. Kawika killed her because you killed Kawika’s brother, and I killed Kawika, because, well, Doronjo was a nice person, other than the fact that she liked you.

"I don’t know what she saw in you, but that wasn’t reason enough for her death. In simple terms, you, Oshita, you killed your woman. It may not have been your hands on her neck, taking the life out of her, but you did kill her," Rania said before her head bowed completely.

Oshita tried to call her and wake her up but he got no response from the woman. He was too scared to even check her pulse. Instead, Oshita got the rest of the rogues to untie her from the tree they had bound her to.

Roughly, they threw her on the ground next to the roadside. They knew she wasn’t dead, so there was no point in burying her. However, they left the message that Nathaniel had given them beside her.

"Hasten the Luna trial, or we’ll attack Incayon next. Incayon rogues."

And with that, the rogues left Rania in the night to a fate unknown to any, but a fate the whole of Obren would certainly agree, befitted a psycho like her.
