Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 68: The Psycho’s Brave Curiosity And Dares
[RANIA]
The rest of the evening went by so fast, with werewolves trying to be their happiest. Of course, they had avoided Rania like a plague, but they couldn’t say that to her face.
Jungwoo had made it grand, not because he wanted to interact with people and tell them of his experiences, but because he wanted to see his people. He wanted to see whether they were truly happy or they were trying to fight their way through whatever was holding them back.
Their lives have changed without a doubt, and there was so much that was needed.
Now that everyone was having fun, Jihoon stepped up to the podium, right before the king and queen spoke. It was customary for two or three alphas to speak, but Jihoon had taken up the first chance.
If anything, he had been granted it by Jungwoo.
"Greetings Obren! I trust everyone is having fun. I know I did. The werewolf prince is back and we all know we are expecting peace and more than anything, justice for the wrongdoings that may have been done against us as werewolves of Obren.
"I know this is not the right time, but I would like to make a request to the crown prince, if you could allow me, your highness, my king," Jihoon said and king Seojoon looked at him curiously. He wasn’t sure what Jihoon wanted to say, but he accepted.
"Go on, Alpha Park. you brought my son home to me. Tell us what it is you have in mind," the king said, and Jihoon smiled, as he looked at the palace where the royals were seated.
Jungwoo was seated with his parents and the royal council in the podium and he was watching too. He had a smile on his face, and he was clearly forcing it but then no one knew what was going on in his mind, so it was impossible to know at the moment anyway.
"Thank you, your highness!" Jihoon said before returning to face the anxious and silent crowd.
"We all know that my mate was unlawfully killed five years ago, and I never got justice. Of course, we would need evidence for that, but I would like to request the prince, as you work on the current affairs of Obren, please consider helping me find justice for my mate.
"My Yanna was stabled on the battlefield by the psycho alpha, Kim Rania of Incayon. She didn’t have a reason to kill my mate, and yes I insist that it was murder, because Yanna had just joined the fight.
"She hadn’t even raised her sword, and yet Kim Rania had plunged a knife into her three times, killing her instantly. Maybe my mate was wrong, or maybe the Incayon alpha had issues with me, but why not come to me directly after the war so we could sort it out, instead of killing my luna?
"Please, my prince, help me get justice for my Yanna. Everyone in Obren already knows Rania did it, but we don’t have evidence yet. But please allow me and my people to look for evidence against her, your highness—" Jihoon said and Rania let out a laugh in the silent crowd, getting the attention of everyone.
"That’s actually cute, Jihoon but hey, let me spare you looking for evidence and shit because you won’t find any. I plead guilty to the crime of murdering Yanna. And as an alpha, the council will have to grant me the chance to explain why I killed her.
"You want answers, considering revenge isn’t exactly working for you, yeah? Well, I’ll make it even simpler. If you want the answers so bad, tell them to summon me to the royal council. Tell them to demand I walk there, tomorrow or whenever, and I will give you the answers.
"I believe five years is a long time to suffer, right? Anyway, if you’re done, can I get to my beer please, and I need to get some sleep. My joints still hurt from the mission we went to, to rescue the prince. If you would excuse me.
"Anyway, don’t worry too much, I’m not planning on leaving Incayon, let alone Obren. You all know where to find me. Just remember the golden rule and we’ll all be okay. Bye now, I gotta drink my life away before tomorrow or whenever the council would wish to speak to me.
"Just send a messenger to my pack, alright, and I’ll show up. With your damned answers," Rania said, laughing at Jihoon who wasn’t even shocked.
He was used to Rania being a maniac, and now that she had admitted to killing his mate, maybe the prince would find ways to make that happen, right? The desperation in Jihoon’s voice was pulling the heartstrings of everyone here.
They were proud of how he had managed to get out of the barriers that Kim Rania had put up for him and hey wanted to assure him that they would join in the fight for Yanna’s justice. It was the only right thing to do at the moment.
And the prince was already given the task. He could take it on, on deny it, but no matter what he did, Obren woud always rally behind Jihoon when it came to the justice of the undeserving earth of the Calindra alpha.
"You all heard her admit to it and we have known that fact for so many years. Please, my prince, help me get justice for my mate. That is all I ask," Jihoon said before stepping down.
After his speech, the murmurs erupted and Jihoon knew what he had done would work. With the prince coming back home, the king would also be forced to intervene even though he had been a little laxed.
Seojoon wanted everyone in Obren to know that his son was a good prince and if the damned case was the only way to do it, then he would stand beside Jungwoo in all this.
The king and queen later on spoke, thanking their people for showing up. Of course they had expected Jungwoo to say anything, but the prince said he just loved seeing his people and that he didn’t have anything to say this evening.
After the speeches, the royals left to get rest and everyone else was left to party till morning. It would be fun as always and that was also enough for Jihoon to make sure that the whole idea of Yanna’s death would make them want to know what had happened.
It was without a doubt the greatest mystery of Obren and if it was solved, then the world would be at peace.
However, would it really, when there were chances that knowing why Rania killed Yanna would bring to life the secrets of Obren, the deadly secrets that weren’t supposed to be known by anyone?
Then again, Rania had nothing to lose at this point anyway, so if they wanted her, then they would show up.
"That was brave," Daehyun said to his alpha who was all smiles.
He knew what he had done would have easily been considered insane, especially on the prince’s first day back home, but then this was the chance for them all to know what actually happened and what prompted Rania.
She may have been crazy, but to some point, they knew that Kim Rania wasn’t just crazy.
She was a woman who did everything as was expected.
"I really hope we get the answers we need.
