Chapter 44: The Psycho of Psychos

[DRARUN]

Jihoon wasn’t even going to try and think about it anymore, because this woman was headache materialized, and it was a wonder the werewolf in the room hadn’t already sensed her incoming mischief and sent her away.

That would make their lives easier, considering the two alphas would now have to come up with an escape plan. But they couldn’t do that, not without knowing whether this man here was the person they were sent to save.

He looked too frail to be the prince of anything.

’Maybe he would be the prince of Rania’s heart,’ Jihoon thought to himself, letting out a snort but Rania ignored him.

Thank fucks for that.

After what seemed like hours of quiet, the queen of cowards decided to take a jab at the werewolf prince. She wanted to know if it was really him, and it was fucking with her. Sure, she was already used to Jihoon’s silent yet knowing snore, but the quiet wasn’t just what she needed.

"Hey!" Rania said to Jungwoo, but the werewolf prince wasn’t even bothered by her, instead, he maintained his posture, like there wasn’t a woman next to him. He looked so frail, and if it hadn’t been for Rania’s werewolf sight, she couldn’t have seen the marks on his body.

This man had suffered for so many years, and yet there seemed to be a reason he was still here. Being the prince of Obren gave him so many privileges, and enough power to get himself out of any state of captivity.

Sure, the silver on the bars was one thing, but he was a prince.

The prince of Obren.

The moon goddess obviously gave him royal gifts, so why hadn’t he used them to initiate an escape even once? He seemed to be handing himself too well for a man who had been away from home for years.

There was something about this man, something that Kim Rania didn’t want to think of, because she was scared that if she did make her thoughts known, then the prince would know that she knew, and she couldn’t have that.

Her only mission in Drarun was to give the prince back to his father, and that was all of it. She wasn’t going to be his hero, at least not when he looked like he was one slip away from broken bones and a dismembered body.

"Hey, you thin raggedy ass bitch without a name or home!" Rania began and Jihoon facepalmed. This woman was a walking disaster and each time she opened her mouth, she just reassured him of the same.

Was there any sanity where she was? Or maybe her brain cells had stopped functioning from the beating she had taken, right?

He should have let her heal, but then her stubborn ass had refused to rest for more days anyway, and there was a high chance that she could have come without him. Here and now, she was provoking a prince, and that alone made her dangerous, this time, to herself.

Jihoon wanted to stop her, but he needed to see how this would turn out. It was always learning time with Rania beside him. At least now, there was someone else to help him suffer through this woman of doom. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"Damn, you look like you’ve been here for a long while— oh wait, I heard you were to be executed in two days. Like you’ll be dead, dead and dead. I’ve always wanted to see how werewolves died. If they turned to ashes like us vamps, or they just remained lifeless.

"Maybe I’ll know with you. I’ll definitely bribe that punk-ass guard to let me come witness your execution before I probably end up with a stake in my darling heart. You’re a frigging werewolf prince, what a pity. You’re hopeless.

"How could you be so lucky and yet super unlucky? Your parents must have hated you so much for them to leave you unattended to. I heard you have been here for so many years, tell me, aren’t you worried that your parents got other kids to replace you?

"Normally, I hear of adoption, and maybe that’s what happened with you too haha. This is really exciting. You’re miserable as fuck, and can’t die. Your life is the definition of cursed! What is it they feed you here?" Rania said to the prince, but he didn’t even look at her.

Instead, he just moved farther to the end of his cell. He had no need for a chatterbox beside him. He so wanted to tell her to shut up, but then that would mean he spoke, and the man hadn’t spoken since he was brought to this palace.

He hadn’t even breathed so much as a request. It was almost like he was mute, but then everyone knew he wasn’t mute, because there were times he wished for his parents in the night. The only problem was that Obre was so far from Drarun.

Rania knew that there was a very high chance that Jungwoo’s cell was coated with silver and wolfsbane. That shit was dangerous for wolves, and maybe that’s why he was moving away.

If that was so, then she needed to be careful too, because she had just been hurt a few days ago, and she couldn’t afford to be hurt here again. The undead would finish her without so much as a second thought.

"I take it you hate interacting with people. No wonder you’re royalty. A stuck-up royal bitch. Where’s daddy when you need him? Probably screwing more young girls in Obren to fil the void of his son.

"Or maybe he’s getting it on with your stuck-up mother, damn that woman makes my blood boil, but then I guess, like mother like son aye," Rania mocked the prince and once again, there was no reaction, so she gave up.

At least for the moment.

She knew she had to try something else. Something that only the prince would know of, no matter what age he was. If that failed, then she would give up and wait for the execution day to save the werewolf prince.

Hopefully, her plan worked, because frankly, she did have the energy to babysit an adult wolf.

"Dalrae, no!"
