Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 274: Heyy, Brother
[RANIA]
"Hiro wait."
"What is it, Haru?"
"You’ll come back for me, right?"Han said in a soft tone, like a brother who was scared of being alone. Rania didn’t know what the fuck he was doing that for, but damn, she hoped that there was a good reason for it, otherwise it would be confusing as hell.
"What?" Kaia asked, not sure if he was understanding what his brother was saying. A part of him was in serious denial while the other was hoping that things would be fine. It was crazy, all of this.
"Y... You won’t leave me behind again, right? You said you would stay with me. You promised Hiiro, you promised to stay for me. I.. if you leave, I won’t have anyone left.
"I’ll be alone, and I’m scared to be alone, Hiro," Han said and for the first time in forever, the misfits stopped what they were doing to see what the fuck was happening right now. This was strange as fuck.
This right here was one of the things that none of them had ever anticipated.
Han Seong was showing weakness for the first time. They had never thought that such a day would ever come to light, but then here it was. The day the great Han Seong was just nothing but a younger brother who wanted his brother and protector to stay.
He had always been the one to protect people. He had always been the stronger woman on the team. Han was always the one who shouldered everything, but here and now, they were seeing a different hand.
They were seeing a younger brother worried sick.
"What? Why would I... Haru," Kaia said as he looked at his brother who was standing a few feet from him. He had known that his brother didn’t want him around over the years.
Each time Kaia Seto had left, Han never paid attention to him, if anything, Han had always pretended like his brother never existed. He had never cared that Kaia had been leaving. And yet today for the first time, he was showing emotion when his brother was leaving.
Maybe it was a way of manipulating Kaia, but the sincerity in his voice was so raw that the misfits felt like they were intruding in a sibling bonding moment. The vulnerability in the air was so raw and it was all so new to them.
None of them had expected this, but this right there was also a reminder to them that their best friend was just another human too. This was a reminder that Han felt things too and that he had emotions. He was one of them in every way.
"I don’t want you to leave, Hiro, but I know you have to. I know you have to go for them, but please don’t stay long. I’m scared without you," Han said and Kaia looked at his brother, his eyes softening in a way that they had never softened around Rania.
It was so new and so beautiful at the same time. Right here they were not the most powerful creatures in the realm, no. Right at that moment, they were just two brothers who wanted to stay with each other.
They were just brothers who had missed each other for long.
Kaia walked towards his brother, the love in his eyes once again for the little boy he had been born with.
Granted, they were twins, but in Kaia’s eyes, Haru was always going to be his little baby brother. He was always going to be the one Kaia would give up everything for, everything including the world.
Kaia would burn the world and everything in it, if that was his brother’s wish and he was ever going to think twice about that.
"Oh, brother. You know I would never leave you, not even for her. I would never leave you for anyone in this world, Haru," Kaia said as he looked into his brother’s eyes, the reassurance in them reminding Han that he would forever be the great Kaia Seto’s weakness, always.
"You left me for her that one time," Han complained and Kaia conjured a bench and sat on it with his brother.
They were facing each other and Kaia seemed to want to explain. For a moment, the misfits figured that this would be private, but in their mind link, Han told them to stay. This was the only way to see and make sure that Kaia was seen this time.
"Because finding her was the one way to come to you. I had to make sure she wouldn’t be a nuisance to Haru. I had to make sure she wouldn’t come between us, little brother.
"I would never leave you for anyone, ever," Kaia said as he pulled his brother into a hug. It was something he had never done and while it felt a little weird and unexpected, they both settled into the hug.
"You promise?" Han asked and Kaia nodded. He loved his brother so much and was more than willing to do whatever it took to make his brother happy again.
Kaia had sworn to protect his brother from any and all things that could pose harm to him. he had promised to be there for him, always, even when Haru had rejected him over and over.
"I promise, my little Haru," Kaia said with a smile as he rubbed his little brother’s cheek softly.
"See?" Kaia said as his eyes turned into a shade of bright gold and brown. It was so pretty a sight, as both brothers’ eyes flickered the same way, like they were one and the same. They were always going to be the brothers of a lifetime anyway.
"Then Kai... reignite our bond. Give him back to me. You don’t have to bear this alone," Han said and his brother instantly stood up, like he wasn’t in agreement with what Han was saying.
It wasn’t hard for the misfits to tell what this was about, because it was more than obvious. Kaia had endured years and years of torture and the pain of having two beasts live inside him and he wasn’t about to let his brother go through that again.
"No. Anything but that, Haru," Kaia said angrily, before he realized he had shouted at his brother.
"Fuck, I’m sorry alright. I didn’t mean to shout at you. But what you are asking of me is impossible, brother. I can’t watch you go through that again. I can’t be the reason you get shunned by society.
"Look around, Haru. You have good friends. They care and love you so much. I don’t want to change that. I know what I did had been crazy and somewhat changed, but Haru, for you, I would do it all over again.
"Please, don’t make me," Kaia said as he rubbed his brother’s hand.
He looked so conflicted but one thing was certain. He was never going to be able to see his brother suffering. He refused to be the reason his brother went through that shit again. He just couldn’t and he wasn’t going to let it happen, not to his Haru of all the people.
"But Hiro—"
"No, Haru. I will do everything you want me to, brother. Everything, but don’t ask me to put you in pain again. I won’t be able to handle it," Kaia insisted, and the misfits watched in awe. This man could be humane too?
Well, this was new to them but they couldn’t deny that Kaia was something else when it came to protecting his little brother.
"Fine. then I just have one ask, Hiro," Han said and his brother nodded.
Kaia wasn’t sure what to expect, but then it wasn’t like Haru would ask the impossible of him anymore, right?
The only thing Kai wouldn’t do for his brother was to see him in pain. That was non-negotiable and anyone who caused his brother any pain, would go through an unending sequence of agonizing torture as sponsored by humanity’s greatest evil anyway.
"Turn it off," Han said and the misfits let out gasps. What he was asking was easily the most dangerous of things. This was insane. Having Kaia roaming the streets without his humanity was dangerous and literally catastrophic.
"If that is what you wish, then for you, brother, I would do anything," Kaia said before he shut his eyes, and when he opened them, they were a dark shade of black.
"I love you, brother," Kaia said before adding, "I’ll be back in twenty minutes alright?"
"Be safe, Hiro."
"For you, Haru, Always."
