Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 243: The Destructive Truth
[RANIA]
"You don’t know how we could have reacted. It’s not like we are saints ourselves. but at least you should have told us," Dalrae added slowly and Han Seong looked at them.
He loved these people like his own and he hadn’t intended to hurt them, but once again, he wasn’t sure how to handle this. He hadn’t even coped with the fact that his brother was in Obren and hadn’t lashed out for the past ten days.
It was a miracle to say the least, because Kaia Seto and peace were mortal enemies.
"Look. I get that you are angry, but you’re upsetting my brother. I know he cares for you and he worries for you, but that’s no excuse to talk to him like that. If you want to be mad at someone, then be mad at me.
"I am the brother that forced him into that state. If I had been someone he would be proud of, like you all are proud of each other, my brother wouldn’t have pretended like life was all rosy and rays of sunshine when he had a devil like me for a sibling.
"You’re hurting and I understand, but you’re hurting my brother too, and I don’t like it. So back off," Kaia said to Chang Wook as he walked to the man like he was about to lash out.
He hated it when anyone talks to his brother any differently.
It was almost like a trigger and Kaia was trying his best to be sane right now.
"Don’t you see you’re proving them right, Chihiro? Stop it, goodness! You can’t always be threatening people because of me. You can’t always fight my battles. And as you can very well see, they are upset and have every right to be.
"If you lay a hand on them, you will never see me again, brother," Han Seong said to Kaia, his voice so calm unlike earlier that he was angry.
Of course he still was mad at himself for how things had turned out, but he was using a tone that Kaia knew so well. It was the warning tone and one that Kaia hated hearing, but then what else could he do?
"So what? I’m supposed to watch them talk to you like you betrayed them and say nothing?" Kaia asked and Han Song just facepalmed.
This wasn’t going to be easy but he had to try, after all, he was the only one who could get through to his brother.
Funny how Han had gone from being the big dangerous high priest they all knew to a younger brother they are still trying to wrap their heads around of course he was still the high priest and shit, but they were looking at him like Kaia’s baby brother.
They needed to protect him and it was insane on so many levels.
"No, Chihiro. What they are doing is reacting to a situation. Their emotions are justified. Think of it as getting hurt. How would you feel if I got hurt?" Han asked and the misfits watched the scenario before them with open mouths once again.
Han Seong was talking to his brother like Kaia was emotionally a kid and it was fascinating to watch.
How a man could be so dangerous and wild and yet a kid when it came to town was baffling. Where the fuck was the Kaia they had been seeing barely seconds ago?
"I’d burn them all," Kaia said earnestly as he looked at the mists.
It was his honest reaction and they understood him because even they would do whatever it took to make things right for their family.
They were even on this damned mission because Rania had been wronged by many and they were collecting prisoners.
Soon they would be having a pack full of prisoners anyway.
"Exactly. You’d burn them all. That is what they feel right now. They didn’t want to burn me down, but they felt hurt. Just like you, the pain you would feel from me being hurt, that same pain that would drive you to kill them all, is the same pain that comes with them feeling left out.
"So no one is killing anyone, alright? Just be nice, please? They are my only friends and I don’t want to blame you again for losing my best friends. Can you do that for me, Chihiro?" Han asked and Kaia once again looked at the misfits.
It was then that they realized that Kaia wasn’t Kaia anymore. He had been angry at the outset that he had managed to let out one of his beasts.
Kaia was emotionally intelligent, but his beasts weren’t and if Han hadn’t managed to calm the first beast that had shown up, then there would be a massacre here too, and he didn’t do that.
"But they want to hurt you, brother—" Kaia said and Han just patted his brother’s back reassuringly.
"They wouldn’t hurt me, I know that. They have emotions, Chihiro and emotions must be expressed, just like you never fail to protect me in secret because you care. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"They are also angry because they care. Don’t hurt them, alright? I mean it, Chihiro," Han said and his brother pulled him into a hug. It was a strange sight and they hadn’t even had time to comprehend what the fuck had just happened.
"I won’t. I promise. But you must promise to use the twin bond if you feel unsafe. As you said, they feel bad when kept out of the loop and then you hurt or any of them gets hurt.
"They will feel terrible if you are hurt too, so promise me, brother—" Kaia said and Han let out a chuckle.
It was interesting how his brother had gone from listening, to nearly raging, and now they were making promises.
This was wild and honestly, the misfits had been silent and were watching the interactions between the best and the brother, and it was wholesome. Because they could see how the two brother perfectly balanced each other out.
"I can’t die, Chihiro. I am always going to be safe—" Han argued but his brother wanted none of that. Immortality wasn’t ever going to be an excuse for them to be reckless in their decisions. They still had to be careful dn look forward to their future.
"Make me a promise, Haru, or we won’t leave this stinking shelter," Kaia said with a smirk on his face, and that got the attention of the misfits again the damned shelter was like a house of doom and if they stayed in here any longer, they were sure to go insane.
This palace was full of shit and smelled worse tHan shit.
This wasn’t where they wanted to be. And in that moment, the misfits turned to Han, literally begging him with their eyes to make the promise to Kaia, because of how inhabitable the shelter was.
"I promise, Now can we please get back on track? We can go over the secrets we have kept from each other once we win the war alight?" Han said, and they all nodded, before mumbling apologies to each other for how they had reacted.
However, even then, Han knew their reactions were justified.
"Be safe, brother and seek me if you need me," Kaia said and Han just nodded before he and Odelia portaled to Incayon, with Daehyun and Jihoon.
