Chapter 238: The Desperate of Mothers

[INCAYON]

It had been a week since the warriors had come back home and Kylian had taken on the role of the one who ran the pack. It was crazy how power was something that was being switched in Incayon like it didn’t mean much.

Then again, the people in power never cared for the power, and that was the only good thing. Everyone here was determined to make Incayon a better place. Kylian was already doing a good job at that and it was making things better.

"What did you mean at the festival?" the werewolf queen asked Kim Hyejin, the former Luna of Incayon. The queen had found her way into the Incayon woods and to the shelter that Alpha and Luna Kim had been forced to live in by Kaia.

It wasn’t exactly the best for places, but then at least it made it obvious that the alpha and his Luna didn’t mean shit to them. They didn’t want to be involved in running the pack anyway.

It should have hurt, being ousted by their children but that wasn’t even on the alpha and his Luna’s mind right now.

They were more focused on the future of their two psychos, especially their youngest. They want the best for her, but it just didn’t seem to be working the way they had hoped.

And now, the queen was walking around seeking answers.

"I don’t know what you are talking about, Eunbi. I don’t even know why you are here when your kingdom is burning down. Shouldn’t you be offering emotional support to the people our daughter keeps ruining their lives?

"You are really something, huh?" Luna Hyejin said and the werewolf queen just looked at the women in front of her.

There was something about the secrets of the old Obren, the years they had lived and loved, the years that had made them into who they were today, and yet as time went by, they were constantly dragged back into those years.

Either time was a desert bitch or fate was a cruel entity. That was the only explanation for all this shit that was ongoing in the kingdom.

"My Junghwa, Hyejin-a. You spoke like you know where my twin was," the queen said and Luna Kim looked at her like she had gone berserk. Her kingdom was on fire and she had settled here?

"Why? Didn’t your husband tell you what happened to your daughter? Don’t tell me you don’t trust your dearest Seojoon. Or do you think she was really alive and didn’t die at birth?

"Are you even listening to yourself right now? Why the fuck would you come to ask me about YOUR child? It’s not like I was your midwife, no?

"Oh wait, you can’t even go to your midwife because she happened to die of an illness a day after your children were born. How convenient, huh?" Luna Kim taunted and the werewolf queen felt like she was going insane.

Her brain wasn’t functioning right and she could feel her world collapsing on her. She didn’t even know how to believe anymore and the fact that her powers as king wouldn’t work on the Kims made her frustrated even more.

If the Kims had been normal wolves, she would have commanded them as their queen. But then they were not and that was even more frustrating. It was hectic and the queen was growing even more desperate.

"What do I do, Hyejin? You were the first one to doubt that my daughter died at birth. You seem to know more than you guys are getting on and it’s frustrating.

"What do you want? Money? Gold? Lands? Power? What should I give you to tell me the truth, Hyejin-a?" the queen asked, her desperation so obvious.

The doubts that the Incayon former Luna had planted in her were intense and she wanted to clear them, even though she wasn’t sure if there was a truth to all of that. She just wanted to know the truth.

It had been nearly thirty years since he had given birth to her children and now that the doubts had crept in, she wanted to be sure about it.

Besides, the fact that it was Luna Kim and not just anyone else who spoke about her daughter made her feel like the woman knew something.

The Kims may have been lying now and leading regular lives, but there was nothing regular about them.

And that could explain their psycho children.

"I don’t know. Go back home, ask your husband. He might have answers for you instead of showing up to ask for things that I might not have answers to. Stop stressing.

"Maybe I just said that to you at the festival because you called my children psychos–" Luna Kim said but the queen wasn’t believing her.

There was something about the Luna that was messing with the queen. It was however sad for her. Right now she looked helpless and desperate.

"You know something. Please tell me... Or I will expose the powers your children have," the queen threatened when she realized that she wasn’t getting anywhere. Maybe her treats would mean something to the Kims but would it?

It wasn’t like there was anything that the Kim children had been left to do in the realm anyway. Their children had terrible reputations and they didn’t even give two shits about it, so what was the queen even talking about?

"Yeah right. Go on. Tell them they are siblings. Tell them that they are very powerful, or better yet.

"Tell them that their parents are two powerful warlock hybrids who had been living on the low as alphas since the time you and King Nathaniel were dating.

"Go on Eunbi, open the pandora, and be prepared because maybe it’s time that Seojoon knew you and Nathaniel really went on ahead with your relationship and even bore another child.

"Maybe then you can explain to your son how he has two other siblings who haven’t been sighted anywhere.

"Open the pandora, Eunbi-a, and watch karma bitch-fuck you in the face," the Luna said to the queen, not even bothering to hide the truth anymore. It was almost like Hyejin was up to something.

She had started planting the seed of doubt in the queen a month ago, and it seemed like she wasn’t about to stop anytime soon. But what was her intention with all of this?

What was she hoping to get from messing with the werewolf queen this much? But what if the Luna was doing this because of something she couldn’t say? And her husband was also in on it with her?

"What the hell does that mean, Hyejin-a?" the queen asked again and this time she felt like her world was closing in on her.

She had never felt this helpless in a long time and yet it seemed like Hyejin was sure to dismantle her world.

The queen was already wondering what was true and what wasn’t true and that, for a queen in power, was very very dangerous.

"It means, go home, Eunbi-a. I have nothing to say to you, but your son might."
