Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 233: A Tempting Hold of Fate
[DRARUN]
Evenings in Drarun we always as calm as they could ever get, but this was an evening that the vampire king, Nathaniel Maximo Kravoski, and his brother, Leader Bai Ting, had come to disease so much.
There was news of the Calindra massacre. News of the mad woman Kim Rania tormenting the lands once again.
There was news of what she had done and even worse, there was more news of the long chains of reaction that she had started.
It was a lot and frankly, as the two brothers sat on the old swings watching over their people, they knew it was just a matter of time.
No one knew yet that Yanna Petrova was alive and it seemed like Jihoon’s call for help and announcement for the mad women’s rebirth had only ever reached Incayon.
That in itself was something that even the Incayon warriors and wolves had sworn to never say to anyone. Unless their alpha had been the one to tell them to come clean.
It was chaotic and understandably so but then there were just some things that they couldn’t fight off easily.
"That woman is crazy. First, she killed the daughter you didn’t know of and now she has massacred the whole pack. It makes me wonder what the hell is going on in her mind?" Bai Ting asked and Nathaniel let out a long knowing sigh.
Of course, he could have assumptions about what was happening with Rania but there were times when even he imagined that everything that had been going on in his mind had been reduced to mere what-ifs.
Kim Rania was a paradox and understanding her had to be the hardest thing for people who didn’t know her, and yet to the people that knew her best, she was just a darling who wasn’t ever going to hesitate to protect the people she had loved.
She was a lovable woman until she was a killer but that didn’t matter because everyone in her band of misfits was one, and she was the youngest of them all.
"They say you can’t run from fate for long. I have waited for this day for years since I heard that Hyejin and Byungho had another child late into their years. It wasn’t expected but then it happened and we all know what followed later.
"It was just a matter of time before she exploded. Besides, I have always wanted her on my team and since she murdered my daughter, I can force her to be my prisoner.
"And then I will be able to use her abilities to the fullest," King Nathaniel said and Bai Ting didn’t even look shocked.
He knew his brother so well and he knew that Nathaniel wasn’t the kind to forgive easily. Sure, he hadn’t gotten to interact with his child, but Rania had taken from him the one thing he wasn’t ever going to have again.
His little girl.
He had missed so many years of his daughter’s life and the fact that he only knew about her when she was murdered was enough for Nathaniel to desire retribution.
He would make sure she bent the knee for him. But the only question was, would Rania’s friends ever leave their friend bow before the vampire king? It wasn’t even up for questioning anymore.
"She is dangerous, Nate. You can’t go after her alone," Bai Ting warned but his brother wasn’t going to sit back and let everything take its course just because Kim Rania had been brutal and had managed to massacre the whole pack.
"And so am I. If she wants a battle, then she should be ready to meet her fate in the hands of a father who missed out on years and years of his child’s life.
"I am going to avenge my daughter, even if I have to hire the worst of the worst assassins in the realm. Anyone, to help me be rid of Rania or even get her in my dungeons?
"The last time they were here, they ran away, and I won’t let her run away from me this time," Nathaniel said and Bai Ting sighed again.
He was listening carefully to his brother and he knew that Nathaniel was right, but there were so many warning signs too.
The fact that even the werewolf king had been unable to get one over Rania was sending a really loud message because King Seojoon wasn’t the kind to just sit back and watch as everything unfolds.
He would always try to fight back, but this time, he had gotten a worthy opponent, one that had gotten his whole kingdom in tears. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"Don’t tell me you’re thinking of going to Seto. You know that man can’t help anyone. He is dangerous. Besides, last I heard, he was looking for his brother," Bai Ting said and Nathaniel’s eyes lit up.
This right here was a chance for him to make a deal with the impossible. Maybe in the end, he didn’t have to even lose his people, right? But would Seto listen to him? Would Seto try and give him a chance, and which Seto was Nathaniel talking about?
Surely it couldn’t be the one who was fighting on Rania’s side, right? It couldn’t be the same man that had lauded Rania with the power to burn Calindra, right?
"I am thinking of just that. It has been years since anyone saw Kaisei Chihiro. Maybe if I find Yanagida Haruhito for him, Chihiro will join me in battle–"
"Or he could kill you. That man is dangerous and there is a reason he is a no-go zone for many. You can’t bet your life on the off chance that you will be having one of the Seto brothers.
"Besides, who’s to tell whether the brothers have not reunited yet?" Bai Ting asked. Of course, like everyone in the realm, they had heard the story of the two brothers who had been at odds.
There had been the overly evil one and then there was the saintly one.
People were scared of the evil one while many hoped that there would come a day when the saintly one would be able to tame his brother since they never told anyone if ever they would get mates.
It was all so fucked up, but that didn’t mean that the vampire king was going not sit back and watch. He was foreign to get what he wanted and he wouldn’t stop, not even if the skies fell over.
"But Nate–" Bai Ting said, even though a part of him was aware that his brother had already made up his mind. But maybe he was just trying to see how this would work, right?
"I have to try, Bai. I have to be bae to defend our home from the wicked alpha wolf and also to make sure that no one comes to do Rania’s bedding on this side of the border," Nathaniel said and Bai just nodded at him.
Maybe there would come a day when they would be thinking of peace instead of violence, but until then, they would be waiting and preparing.
"Let’s get in. It’s getting colder here," Nathaniel said and his brother just got up in silence. He was thinking of so many things, especially Kim Rania.
However, before they could get in the house, Officer Kang came with the news they hadn’t been expecting.
