Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 232: And If You’re In Trouble, Call Home
[RANIA]
"Good morning warriors," Rania greeted when the warriors had gathered for the final assembly.
It didn’t matter that the world was burning because of them. What mattered was that they had come to Calindra, and they had fought a war. They had conquered the pack that had been too brutal to one of their own.
It wasn’t that hard to know that this right here was their very test of patience, but whatever they had come to do had been a success so there was no point in pretending that they hadn’t wanted more anyway.
"I know we all want to continue the long wars, but I’m afraid that this has to end here. The upcoming battles are going to be worse than what we just witnessed in Calindra and lives would actually be lost.
"It is a lot to think of at the moment and I swore to your families that none of you would die at war with me. So that’s what I did. It is time to go home and keep living your lives.
"Whatever I’m, up to will cost so many lives, and I don’t want any of those lives to be yours. The least you can do for me is to go home and protect the home we love so much.
"The king won’t take lightly that his warriors died, and he might try retaliating, and there isn’t an army stronger than ours. So go back home and protect our people.
’Be their shield and if the long journey of war favors me, then I hope to see you all again someday. Until then, go home," Rania said to the warriors and the murmurs erupted.
It was obvious they had enjoyed that they had been at war and they loved the feel of blood on their hands as they defended one of their own.
They knew that it was going to be a very long time before they went on such fun trips and they wanted to maximize it. The only problem right now was that there wasn’t shit they could do.
Rania had made up her mind, but maybe they could try talking to her. Right?
"Let us come fight alongside you, alpha. We owe you at least that much for all the years we caused you pain," Darell said and the warriors nodded in agreement.
It was so thoughtful of them but then Rania knew that they were doing thai out of their guilt. But that wasn’t what Rania had wanted from them, they had been right to share their emotions with her.
At least they did prove that she wasn’t running a pack of empty-headed vessels that would follow her to wherever thoughtlessly. She had trained them well and she wasn’t going to deny that.
It would take quite some time for her to get over the possibility that they would always be waiting for her but that wasn’t something that she wanted to explore at the moment.
Maybe she could consider it later, but until then she had to try and make sense of everything that was happening right now.
"You owe me nothing, Darell. You are warriors and you protected our home, which was very smart of you. You saw me as a threat to the Incayon we had all bult and you all stepped up to protect the others from me.
"I have never blamed you for it, so don’t be doing this out of guilt. Pain does drive us into doing so many things that can force us to a wall that we never want to face.
"That happens and you can’t always blame yourself for that, alright?" Rania said reassuringly.
Of course, she hadn’t expected much from them but hearing them want to come along was making her feel like finally they wanted her. But then that would have to wait a few days or even years.
There was no telling how long the war she had started would take and she didn’t want to put them in an option where they would have to choose between her and the people they loved.
That was never a choice and Rana didn’t want to be the other option for them there.
"But alpha–" Kylian added though Rania wasn’t having any of it. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"You want to serve me? Then go home. Protect our people. Make sure that no one is able to reach the defenses. Make sure that nothing happens and Kylian, as the enforcer, you are in charge of all the decisions in the pack.
"Go, be the person our people need, until Lim Lim and I come back. I am tempted to tell you that Dalrae will be going home with you but I know my sister and I know she won’t leave me alone.
"Be there for us when we need you," Rania said as she looked at her sister who was watching with a smile on her face.
She had been waiting to make sure everyone that hurt Rania would be brought to the books and right now it was happening. It didn’t matter that there were so many different variables at the moment.
The only thing that mattered was the fact that they were no longer alone or even spayed from the people that they were with.
"If you need the Incayon army, we will always be at your service. We no longer care if you want us to be brainless murderers for you. We will be just that. We are family, alpha Rania and I hope someday you get to understand that too.
"Meanwhile, we will go home like you said. We will prepare for your return and no matter what happens out there, please know that Incayon will always be home.
"We will make sure that nothing changes and we will be at our best so you don’t come back to a broken home. Until next time, alpha. May the goddess shine her light on your way.
"We care," Kylian said and Rania looked at them with soft eyes. She hadn’t expected this but at least this time she wasn’t going to be thinking she had nowhere to go anymore.
She was home.
Home finally accepted her.
Home finally was ready to fight for her.
Home was finally letting her be the child they had always loved. And home was her safe space once again.
It wasn’t something that happened daily and she couldn’t deny that too. So as she stood there, she rushed to her enforcer, hugging Kylian for the first time in the nine years he had been away from home.
She felt whole again and she wanted to be happy.
"Aren’t you going to ask about the prisoners? Since you are the enforcer?" Rania asked when she broke from the hug. It had been a simple one, but it was a hug that made her feel ten times better.
Of course, her friends always showed up for her and would always try to make her feel better, but the fact that her army wasn’t organizing a cup against her again this time, made her flee like she didn’t have to hide who she was anymore.
Love had finally made a show.
"No, Alpha. We respect your decision. If you allow us. We shall take our leave," Kylian said and the Incayon warriors bowed, before they started leaving one by one.
With the warriors gone, Rania and her team knew that it was time to leave.
However, there were rogues and the Kaia team that had remained. Kim Rania wasn’t sure that taking such a huge team with her would be necessary, but she hoped that they would understand her choices.
"We have to split up at this point. As we had agreed earlier, Paloma, you and your team can go and pursue the issue of the treaty. Don’t be lenient with him and make sure the bastard feels the pinch.
"Kaia can lend you some of his warriors, or even all of them since we will be more powerful together here. I would say you take Han Seong, but I know he won’t leave my side too.
"This isn’t goodbye, sister. This is merely see you later. Whoever gets done first can come with their team and meet the other. Until then, please be safe, all of you," Rania said to her friends and they all just nodded in agreement.
Even Oshita who would always have something to say didn’t say anything. They could only wish each other well as they walked into the next phase of war.
"Well then, we shall take our leave and see you soon, Rani."
