Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 204: Denial, Denial, Oh, Denial
[JIHOON]
"What?" the warrior asked and the alpha just looked at him like he hadn’t been clear. Jihoon wasn’t in the mood to play games with anyone and if the warriors weren’t going to do what he wanted, then he could as well be rid of him, right?
"Are you deaf or something?" Jihoon asked and the warriors just bowed before the alpha and rushed out, leaving behind Daehyun, Yanna, and Jihoon.
Yanna was still in disbelief and she refused to believe that the man before him had bested her. Park Jihoon was supposed to be stupid, he was supposed to be the dumbest creature she had ever met.
And yet standing before her was a man who had brought Calindra to where it was a man who had worked and toiled hard to make sure Calindra was the powerhouse it was at the moment.
This man was the one Calindra had born and bred and right now, he was going to show his people that shit wasn’t going to be forgiven.
"You wouldn’t arraign me before the pack. It will make you look weak. An alpha who was toyed with, one who didn’t have the power even though we were mated for four years.
"It will show them that you are a puny-ass with no brains," Yanna taunted, hoping to get into Jihoon’s head.
But then she was wrong because from the moment Jihoon had confirmed that Yanna had indeed fucked with his mate bond, the moment he had seen Rania come for him and take him back, the movement he had seen Rania be there for him when he hadn’t expected her, Park Jihoon ad made the choice to fight back.
He didn’t care what was going to happen to him. He didn’t care that his mate would want him dead more than anything.
Jihoon had made his choice and he would stand by Kim Rania. He would defend her even if the blade that went through him was hers. He would fight for her and make everything right for her, even if it was the last thing he did.
He wouldn’t try and make amends and hopefully, he wasn’t late. But did he know about Kaia and his claim on Rania? How would he take that information?
"I see you like testing my patience, Yanna. You keep forgetting that you are a prisoner of Calindra, and are wanted by Incayon, not to mention you are the love child of the werewolf queen, and the vampire king, both who Rania hates more than life itself.
"You didn’t think I would burn you for her? Try me. Keep running your mouth and maybe my queen will get her vengeance on the damned crown that is so determined to see her dead," Jihoon said to Yanna before he turned to Daehyun "Let’s get out of this shit hole brother."
Daehyun didn’t hesitate to follow his brother outside, but that didn’t change the fact that he was confused as hell. He wanted to laugh and think that Jihoon was kidding about the crazy threats he just made to the hybrid, that he hadn’t lied, not even once.
He would do whatever it took to give Rania her justice while Rania was fighting for her vengeance. He would aid her because that was the only thing left for him.
Jihoon was going to make sure to fight his mate’s battles, and while that was a long challenge in itself, he had made a commitment. This was his way of atoning for the fact that he had given the Calindra werewolves a Luna that wasn’t theirs to begin with.
This was his chance to try and make things right. Then again, it wasn’t like he was hoping that Rania would forgive him, no. He wouldn’t want that. He had subjected the woman meant for him to so much pain.
He had tried to excuse his actions over the years but now that he had seen Yanna, Jihoon realized he had been an asshole for no reason to a woman who didn’t deserve it. He should have been the better man and yet he had just caused his woman more pain.
He should have been good to her and tried to make amends and yet as he walked out of the dungeons, Jihoon couldn’t help but think that the only difference between him and Yanna was simply their genders.
The lunar trial was the greatest form of disrespect to their luna and now that Rania dh started serving her punishment, Jihoon wasn’t going to cry foul. Whatever Rania was bringing his way, he would face it.
"Are you sure the assembly is a good idea right now? Please don’t tell me you want to tell me that Kim Rania is their Luna. That will be the most confusing thing right now, especially since Rania has declared war on us.
"If you want them to someday accept her, you have to let things take their course, brother. You can’t introduce her to them, not when they hate her more than life itself," Daehyun tried to reason and Jihoon knew he was right.
As much as he was compelled to come clean about his mate and his Luna, he needed to prepare his people, and right now wasn’t the time for all that.
He couldn’t just show up and remind them of the chaos that was coming and tell them that it was their Luna who had every reason to come at them. It was just not what he was going to do.
"No, Daehyun. Our warriors are dead and there are reasons for us to believe that the psycho of psycho did it. There is only one person who could do that to them. If it had been Chang Wook, he wouldn’t have killed the young men, because Rania wouldn’t have let him.
"She wouldn’t have agreed that they kill the younglings and yet everyone in that battalion by the king somehow died. It doesn’t make any sense, unless the troll had a hand in this—" Jihoon said and Daehyun looked at his brother sadly.
There was so much that Jihoon wasn’t aware of, and Daehyun knew that this naivety could ruin him someday.
Surely they all knew that Rania had powerful allies, but there was no knowing who they were at the moment. No one had expected the rogues, the high priest, and Odelia to be on Rania’s side, especially since the high priest was an old friend of Jihoon.
Thankfully, Daehyun was already aware of that. He just had to find a way to make things seem right even if he had to intentionally omit some information to his alpha. It wouldn’t be as terrible, right? Well, something had to be one otherwise they would be doomed.
"Rania has powerful allies, brother. She has the most unexpected of allies and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Odelia troll is on her side too," Daehyun said, and Jihoon just chuckled like his best friend had lost a few brain cells on his journey to Incayon and across the kingdom.
It was almost impossible for him to believe that.
"The Odelia troll is just like Kaia Seto. They’re both loyal to no one, Daehyun," Jihoon said and Daehyun knew that his best friend would be having a long day.
