Chapter 197: You Don’t Have To Trust Me [1]

[RANIA]

"Hold on. What the fuck do you mean by her m—" Luna Kim began but Kaia was done.

He wasn’t in the mood to talk about everything that was happening and much less with the two people who had caused the person he liked so much pain.

There was a really good chance that Kaia was looking at them like food and if they weren’t careful, he would rip them apart and feed on them.

After all, Kaia Seto fed on everything that breathed.

"I. Said. Leave." Kaia reiterated and this time, his voice was more of a growl than a statement. Once again, it seemed like the senior Kims were being threatened in their own home and their children were watching in silence like they weren’t even here.

There were so many things that their children could have done and instead, they were staring like they were new to the realm and everything that could have made Incayon what it was today.

So much was about to happen and a lot had already happened. It was all just a matter of time.

"Fine, it’s not like we want to be here anyway," Luna Kim said as she looked at her children, her heart speaking something else while her mouth was on something else.

She may have been good at pretending, but how long would the luna pretend like she wasn’t missing her children and that all of this wasn’t affecting her so badly?

How long would she keep on the facade and pretend like it was all sunshine and unicorns when all she wanted was to tell her children that she didn’t hate them. Then again would it make any difference if their kids despised them so much right now?

All this time, Rania was holding on to Kaia softly while her friends were looking at her in shock, clearly not having expected Rania to be silent when her parents were being kicked out.

Oh, but there was a lot of pain in these walls and maybe the Kims leaving was the best thing that could have happened.

But for who?

And on what grounds? 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Rania could have stopped Kaia from exerting that authority.

She could have told him not to get them out, but she hadn’t. Instead, she had been silent, and watched as her parents got kicked out of the pack house they had reigned in for over two hundred years.

Then again, weren’t they the ones who had caused Rania more pain?

"That was impressive, but it still doesn’t make your face any less punchable," Chang Wook admitted with pride in his voice.

If Kaia didn’t know any better, he could have assumed that Chang Wook was liking his methods. But was that anything to be proud of at the time that they hadn’t even tried to make use of the resources and the notion that the king had on them at the moment?

They were still in danger and Incayon was now probably on the target list of all the packs, given the deaths that had been recorded. Then again, Kaia had made sure to kill them away from Incayon and so close to the palace.

His methods were so brutal that when he was done, no one would believe that a wolf had done it.

And of course, that would leave only two suspects, Odelia and Kaia — but they were the creatures that people would never cross, so this right now was just a mission that had so many faults. But would they brave it in the end?

"I know, and I don’t expect any of you to trust me just because I was let in by your alpha. I will earn your trust, even if it takes me years. That aside, I heard Incayon was to invade Calindra soon pr in a week’s time.

"I’m not sure when that is scheduled for, but I just wanted to let you all know that I will be coming along for the ride with you. I have an army waiting five clicks from here, ready to engage when you all are," Kaia said and they just stared at him with open mouths.

Who the hell was this man and what the fuck happened to Kaia Seto the bastards of bastards and the psycho of all psychos?

Who the hell was this man before them? Sure it was early in the morning but they couldn’t all be having the same dream, right?

Oh to be confused because of Kaia Seto. Then again this was happening. It was real, and not an illusion, and instead of more questions and answers they just stared; flat out stared at the man who looked more normal than the man they had known for years.

Was this the same man who had been terrorizing all factions throughout the years? What the hell was in the water that Rania had made him drink to make him change so much? Was there magic involved?

Then again Kaia Seto was the magic that couldn’t be brought down. How the hell did Rania get the powerful barbarian to come and be informal for them like this? Was this who Kaia was, or was this an act he was putting up?

And if it was an act, why did it feel so real, so surreal and so imaginative?

Why did his presence irk them and make them feel safe at the same time? How long were they supposed to have all these doubts on the man? There was so much that they wanted to ask at the same time, but damn, they were just trying to absorb it all.

"You—" Han Seong began but Kaia interrupted him. His voice wasn’t the cruel one he had used wot alpha and Luna Kim barely a few minutes ago. Maybe Kaia had changed, but was seventeen hours rough for them to make that conclusion?

"I know you don’t trust me, Han, and I don’t expect you to. Think of it as me helping Rani with her vengeance. We tried justice and it didn’t work, and this is the only option left for her and us.

"We can at least work together for her, now, can’t we?"
