"I wouldn’t kill her, ever. But you five look like idiots standing there, when I clearly spent the night in the guest room on the farthest corner of this damned pack house, away from her," Kaia suddenly said and Dalrae shrieked, making Rania facepalm.

Today was going to be a disaster.

She could already tell.

Kaia showing up suddenly was something they didn’t expect and the fact that he hadn’t shown up from Rania’s room and he smelled like the old guest rooms in Incayon was really something.

The five of them had been bickering in front of a room that was empty, and now they looked like deers caught in headlights, not that they would even try to defend themselves.

Though Kim Rania was willing to bet her life that one of them would try to defend what they had been doing there.

"I know this is hard for you guys. I know you are shocked about what I did, and will probably remain in denial for a long while, but trust me, I wouldn’t bring someone who’d harm Incayon or the people I love through our gates.

"I value you all too much to jeopardize that," Rania said but they just stared at her openly. They trusted Rania with their lives. They loved her and everything she did was not worrying them... Well, everything except for interacting with Kaia Seto.

It was just not something that they all were willing to accept and they had made that obvious when they stood in front of the room looking like they were ready to go to battle for the impossible.

"Yes, trust her. You don’t need to trust me. Just trust my beautiful butterfly and all will be well," Kaia said as he walked to where Rania was standing and gave her a good morning kiss, baffling the rest of the team.

This man sure had some audacity, flexing his position to them like this. The only difficult thing for this team wasn’t trusting Rania but believing that Kaia Seto, the evil of all evils, was having good intentions for their friend. It was all too sudden and unbelievable.

"Can you stop sticking to my sister like a moth to a flame like that? I know this is supposed to be sweet and shit, but you’re Kaia Seto.

"You are not sweet or whatever the fuck you are trying to show here," Dalrae said, clearly not liking the affection that was openly being shown to them she didn’t have a problem with Rania having a mate and she didn’t mind Rania being mated to the devil himself.

But then there were so many devils out there, and of all of them, she had chosen the worst of them all.

Maybe that was also why Dalrae wasn’t ready to trust the safety of her sister to a man who was remorseless, a man who did terrible things for fun, and a man who didn’t care what the world sent his way as long as he had everything he wanted.

Dalrae was right. He was Kaia Seto and that should have been a glaring red flag, and yet it seemed that Kim Rania had embraced that red flag with open arms. What in the world were they supposed to make of it?

"Come on Lim Lim. He’s not as bad," Rania said and they looked at her like she had gone bonkers. Surely someone else was talking in her stead, right? Or maybe there was a drug that Kaia had given her to sway her, right?

"Not as bad? Who the fuck are you and where is my sister?" Dalrae asked disbelievingly. She couldn’t believe this and even as she looked at Kaia, it all seemed like a fairytale that had one terrible ending that would scar even the listeners.

Sure, this morning Kaia looked like he had been yesterday, a normal man who had just woken up. He wasn’t showing his fangs nor was he trying to scare people away but the truth was still shouting at them all.

Oh, but the denial was evident and understandable on all fronts.

"You can’t be serious right now. I wanna punch him so bad but I know you’ll kick my ass for that. Maybe I should just drown him in the river. That should make my life easier than having to see him standing beside you like that.

"Where the fuck did you even get this barbarian? And what language did you both speak to get to this point?" Chang Wook said as he walked towards Kaia, but Odelia and Han Seong held him back.

This wasn’t the morning for bloodshed, but did Chang Wook want blood or answers? Having Kaia in Incayon was just fucking with them all and they were showing it openly so Rania could know. But she had their best interests at heart, though at what expense?

"I healed all the wounded warriors last night before I went to sleep," Kaia said, clearly trying to get on their good side, but it would probably take a millennium for him to achieve that, really.

These people had hated him, despised him, and had known him for the asshole he was.

Rania could see that they were having a hard time accepting Kaia for obvious reasons but maybe with time, they would warm up to him. She wasn’t going to change her mind about Kaia and she didn’t care that she seemed to be lying.

Of course, they knew her mate was Jihoon, but the fact that the goddess would let her wolves choose other mates was also here with them. There were so many explanations but Rania wasn’t going to give one just yet.

It wasn’t the right tie for her to explain how the fuck she and Kaia had ended up adoring each other, right?

Rania knew Kaia beyond his reputation and maybe that was also why she had let him in. Incayon was in reality the most dangerous pack in the realm right now, and at the same time, it was the safest place for everyone who was within its borders.

It was something that only the goddess could explain.

"Oh great, thank you very much now. Can you please follow the exit of Incayon and never come back? Pretty please?" Dalrae said and Rani sighed.
