Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 194: Questions, Questions, So Many Questions
[RANIA]
The morning had just started and here they were stuck in a loop of what-ifs. Maybe they would find the answers they were seeking but what if Kim Rania wasn’t ready to share them. What the hell would they do?
"What the hell are the five of you doing standing in front of my room?" Rania asked as she walked in to see the group of idiots that were waiting for her whole they glared daggers at the mahogany dodo before them.
For people with magic and powers, they sure were pretty useless right now.
They looked like they had auctioned everything they could use to think, and instead of being the intelligent people they were on normal days, they looked like knock-off versions of themselves and it was worrying.
"Cleaning the walls," Oshita said, as he tried to prove his sudden interest in the Incayon walls. He looked hopeless as fuck but that was even a better excuse than the ones the rest had.
"Moppinfg the air," Han Seong said, as he tried his magic in the air, but what the fuck was he even mopping? Then again, he had just admitted to mopping the air.
Hopefully, the Incayon infirmary had a segment for powerful idiots who couldn’t think with their brains, because at this rate, they had to be separated.
Their being together was proving to be more dangerous to the realm than when they were apart. Who knew what games they would play and what they would find themselves doing to cause even more chaos?
"The alpha sent us," Dalrae said like that was supposed to make it all better. She was the damn beta, and currently, the one that Incayon and the realm seemed to recognize as their alpha. So which alpha had sent her?
This bunch knew that Dalrae was not on speaking terms with Alpha and Luna Kim, so there was just no way she would have been sent on an errand, and that too, one that involved spying on Kim Rania for her parents.
Dalrae would never do that, but tough situations did call for polite and bearable desperate measures, right?
"Bringing you breakfast," Paloma said, and Han Seong helped her by casting a spell to get the breakfast.
Unfortunately, the breakfast tripped off Paloma’s hand since she hadn’t been expecting it, and right now they were standing on hot tea that was burning them and yet they kept their stance like that was supposed to be convincing and make Rania believe them.
"Checking if you’re alive," Chang Wook said and they looked at him like he was insane. But then again, compared to their pathetic excuses, it wasn’t clear who was more pathetic than the other. Maybe they had decided to take the fall as a team, right?
Maybe that would allow them a chance to get through the chaos they had just started, no?
"What? Don’t tell me we all didn’t think the bastard killed her. You surely don’t expect us to change our minds instantly when the man is the walking doom of the whole realm? He is the kind of evil that even evils steer clear of.
"As if that isn’t even enough, he is the same man, who by the way has somehow managed to convince my sister that they are mates. Don’t expect me to just pretend that it’s all beautiful gardens all around us when it clearly isn’t.
"That bastard is a walking red flag, I’m not sure when she started being color blind, but surely there has to be a spell that makes her see all the red written in him, right?" Chang Wook defended while Rania looked at the five misfits that she called her family.
Rania had woken up earlier than usual today. She had missed out on so much that had been going on in her home and even for a moment without the shadow of skepticism, she wanted to walk through Incayon and feel normal.
She wanted to see for herself how her people were coping now that she had been forced by circumstances to stay here with them. She had one to see if they still wanted her gone and dead or they had different opinions.
Sure, she would respect their opinions, but a part of her hoped that they wouldn’t be too cruel to her. Oh, but she was a girl with hopes and desires that the forbidden walls would probably hold her to in so many ways.
The only way she could explain this, was that she had gone out and had been working with the Incayon warriors since morning.
She had also made sure to tell her wolves not to tell any of her friends because they would be so worried about her health and try stopping her from working, and as it was, she had been right about her misfits.
However as it was, maybe she should have let the wolves tell her dumb friends that she had woken up and was with them. Maybe that could have saved them from overthinking and their minds wandering all over the place.
This was insanity on the highest levels, but it was also a reminder that as dumb as they were, they were worried for her and just wanted what was the best for her.
After all, Kaia Seto hadn’t exactly given them a reason to trust him.
He had shown up like the devil that he was, and when Rania showed up, he had switched into this man that they hadn’t ever seen. They were right to be worried and skeptical, and frankly, Rania understood them. That still didn’t explain their madness at her door.
"I wouldn’t kill her, ever. But you five look like idiots standing there, when I clearly spent the night in the guest room on the farthest corner of this damned pack house, away from her," Kaia suddenly said and Dalrae shrieked, making Rania facepalm.
Today was going to be a disaster.
She could already tell.
