Chapter 193: Overthinking Idiots Or Adorable Misfits?

[RANIA]

The next morning in Incayon felt strange, but what was even stranger was the fact that hours had passed and there was still nothing that could convince the misfits that Rania had done whatever it was willingly.

They were convinced that Kaia had done something to their sister, and honestly, they were willing to stake their lives on it. Maybe that was also why they had woken up a little earlier than usual and found themselves at her door.

It was strange in every way, but then they were misfits, so strange was more of a compliment than a guide into their unmonitored world of chaos.

The Incayon wolves who were moving around the pack house were not sure what they were supposed to make of that sight really, because they had never seen five intelligent people share one brain cell like that.

It was the only other explanation other than the fact that the misfits looked like creeps standing in front of Kim Rania’s room.

Of course, the wolves had seen Kaia and once again, they had figured that if the devil himself was inside Incayon, then Rania knew what she was doing.

Sure, they didn’t know that Kaia had claimed to be Rania’s mate, not that it would be any more comforting than the tension that excited them, but maybe it would give them a chance to determine whether the misfits were mentally prepared or not.

It was the only way out of this.

"We shouldn’t be here," Paloma had argued three hours ago, when they had first shown up at Rania’s door. They kept on smiling at every wolf that came by, but then there was only so much they could smile and soon enough their smiles had turned into curious faces.

Some were murderous and some looked like they wanted to know what Kaia and Rania were doing behind those closed doors.

It was unsettling for every possible reason but what else was there for the misfits who had banned everything to come show up for Rania?

"Dalrae, you’re the beta. Maybe you can see through the door, right?" Han Seong said, and they all turned to look at him like he wasn’t the high priest of the Valley of the Whites. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

He was easily the most powerful among them, with the magic that was channeled through the earth and was flowing in him, but he was here thinking of shortcuts.

"Me? Why not you and Chang Wook? The both of you have magic, don’t you?" Dalrae said.

Han Seong looked at her sheepishly like this wasn’t what he had meant, but then what was it that he had meant other than the fact that they looked like kids who had come to sneak into their parent’s bedroom?

Oh, but they were disastrous. It was not even helping that they still were putting on yesterday’s clothes and looked like they had spent the whole night contemplating on how the fuck Rania and Kai had managed to end up together.

This wasn’t normal and they knew it too, so they were going to play games and pretend that they were okay with this shit.

"You’re the beta?" Oshita said, though it came off as a question rather than a statement, which made them facepalm. The confusion was real and the fact that it was stemming from the overthinking idiots didn’t make it any better.

"It’s ten o’clock," Paloma said and they looked at her like it wasn’t obvious.

Then again, they had been camping at Rania’s door since before dawn. If Rania was to come out surely she could have already come out and heard her misfits thinking the impossible of her.

"The sun is already up," Oshita added as if to make them understand how weird it was for Rania to still be in the room with Kaia. But then again, if that was their perception, then they needed to face the truth that was staring at them.

They looked like a bunch of idiots standing there and making speculations. But whatever floated their boats, right? They had to have some audacity to be camping here since dawn.

"Doesn’t Rania have a way to tell that the sun is up?" Chang Wook asked, making the misfits sigh. The more speculation they had, the dumber they sounded and it wasn’t even helping their case right now.

But maybe that was what it would seem like for a whole, no?

"Did he sleep in the same room as her?" Han Seong asked, the cringe in his voice making itself known, but Chang Wook wasn’t willing to listen to that possible version.

He refused to think of what could have happened between his sister and Kaia in one night.

He couldn’t think about it because if he did, then the door would be flying off its hinges and there was a really high chance that Kim Rania would stop talking to him for a day.

And that was a really long time, given the situation and the tension that was in Obren as a whole, not to mention the king wanting her dead.

"Do not say that. Don’t even think of it, you’ll drive me crazy. That’s my baby sister right there," Chang Wook said and Dalrae laughed at the disgust in his voice.

Of course, she was also appalled by the situation, but the hopelessness in the voices of the misfits was somewhat comforting for some reason. They really were hopeless when it came to Kim Rania, huh?

"Someone would think you really are siblings," Dalrae said, but Chang Wook wasn’t thinking of that at the moment. He wanted to know why the fuck Kaia had chosen his sister or even vice versa, because, with Kim Rania, everything was possible.

"That is beyond the point right now," Chang Wook said and they all laughed a little too loud in the hope that Kim Rania would show up and send them away, but even then, she didn’t. And that was breaking their fragile hearts in the worst of ways.

"What if we push this door open?" Odelia asked, but the absurdity of the situation itself was not even letting all of them embrace the possibility that they were creepy themselves and for even wanting to break down Kim Rania’s door.

"Will you explain to her yourself?" Paloma asked and Odelia shrugged, like that was a conversation she didn’t see herself having with Rania. Maybe standing like idiots in front of her door was a better solution for them, right?

"It’s better than standing here waiting for her when maybe she is not even alive in there," Odelia said, igniting a new string of doubts and worries in Chang Wook. He was already having a round morning but as it was, their overthinking would take them miles to hell.

"What if he killed her?" Chang Wook asked, clearly worried about Rania, but weren’t they all worried about the woman?

The king wanted her and her brother dead, but instead of Chang Wook being stressed about his safety, he was worried about his little sister’s safety.

"Don’t be stupid, we could have felt the bonds break," Dalrae said and Chang Wook looked at her with a pout, making Paloma facepalm.

"What the hell are the five of you doing standing in front of my room?"
