"Tell me something love, did you get enough sleep? Pardon me if I woke you up, I didn’t mean to,’’ Kaia said and the team of misfits could have sworn that they were in an alternate universe.

This was not what they had expected, and the fact that Kim Rania was smiling at the man like she had put all her brain cells aside was worrying. However, they had to see this through. They had to wait and see what direction this madness would take.

"Kai—" Rania began softly, but Oshita spoke.

"Am I in hell?" Oshita asked and instead of his friends saying he was dramatic, they all looked at him with the same hopeless face that Oshita was wearing. Tsi was surprising to them and none of them had been expecting it really.

"Are you hurt, anywhere? Do I need to get the king to apologize?" Kaia asked and Rania facepalmed, while dalrae watched with her jaw on the ground. This was certainly not what they were thinking it would all be like, but then here they were.

"Sorry to interrupt whatever this is, but a little explanation please?" Dalrae said as Rania opened the gates and let Kaia Seto into Incayon.

It should have easily been a suicide mission but the man looked goofy and harmless as he rushed to embrace Rania in a hug.

Well, maybe there were a few Chapters of Rania’s life that they had missed because when the hell had this happened and how the fuck had they even gotten here?

"Hello, Dalrae. My name is Kaia Seto, Kim Rania’s mate," Kaia said with a smile on her face and Oshita fainted.

Chang Wook thought he was playing games, but the man had really fainted this time.

"Great, just great," Chang Wook sighed as he tried to revive Oshita, but Paloma told him to let the warrior be. There was a lot to process and the more surprises that were headed their way didn’t seem to have warning signs labeled on them.

"I asked Rania. What is this sister? Is what he says the truth? Did we force you into this? Why does he claim that? And what about Park Jih—" Dalrae asked but at the mention of Park Jihoon.

Kaia let out a low warning growl. It was like a reminder that the name wasn’t to be mentioned, but then they couldn’t exactly avoid mentioning Park Jihoon when he was at the center of every mess that had been made right now.

It all just seemed like a surprise and as unsettling as it was, they had to figure out a way to make this work.

"He tells the truth, sister. Kaia is my mate," Rania said and Dalrae rushed to her, grabbing her from Kaia’s arms and this time, Kaia didn’t have a smirk on his face or the sinister look he had been giving Han earlier before.

He was silent, and he seemed like the perfect understanding boyfriend, and boy was it unsettling to watch.

"Mate? Your mate? When the fuck did this happen? And don’t tell me he’s good for you and shit, given his reputation. Have you seen the man? He was eating a fucking bunny while the animal was crying and he didn’t even flinch at the cries.

"He is a sociopath psychopath and every path that there is in the disorder field. How the fuck did you land him? And what does he have against you?" Dalrae asked and Rania just smiled at her sister as if to tell her that it was a long story.

They had time to work through that, but did they?

Kaia could see Rania getting uncomfortable with the questions. He could see the way Rania was trying to formulate a response that would explain to her friends the truth and seeing her in that uncomfortable state was making him feel bad for her.

So he did the only thing he could at the moment.

Kaia made it rain.

"Oop... it’s raining. Let’s go inside shall we?" Kaia said, before he grabbed Rania’s hand and ran through the rain with her to the pack house, not even caring that there was a team of misfits who had a billion questions and zero answers.

Those were things that they needed answered and yet as they watched Rania augh at Kaia’s mischief in the rain, they couldn’t help but be relieved. She was smiling today. She was laughing even and all because of Kaia.

"I know this is crazy, but is it just me or did I hear her laugh in the rain with him? They look weirdly normal which is even unsettling," Paloma commented as she stood in the rain, watching the beautiful sigh that was before them.

If only Kaia Seto was normal.

If only Kaia Seto was every girl’s dream.

If only they were sure Kaia Seto wouldn’t hurt Rania.

There were so many queries and they had every right to. Maybe when the day ended they would get the answers that they were seeking, but at the moment, they would have to try and make do with what was presented before them.

Maybe when the rain went down, maybe when everything was calm and collected, they would find a place to settle, but how long before the madness returned?

"He said he’d make the king apologize to Rani. I know it sounds absurd, but why does it feel like he is the worst best thing that would ever happen to her? She looked happy with him," Dalrae added, as if trying to remind the team that Kaia Seto had wanted to make Seojojn bend the knee for Rania.

"What if he is just obsessed with her? What if she’s a challenge for him? One that he wants to explore and then leave behind?" Chang Wook asked worriedly.

He didn’t want to imagine someone using his sister and leaving her. He didn’t want to think that someone else would hear Rania and that in itself made him want to go after Kaia and ask the same question.

"She called him Kai, and in a loving tone. Why do I want to puke at that?" Han Seong whined and Odelia just patted him roughly in the back as if to help him cope with whatever was happening to them right now.

Then again maybe this tragedy wasn’t exactly a tragedy. Maybe Kaia Seto was the best thing that could have truly happened to Kim Rania, but what were the chances that she would be different from all of them?

"Honestly, let’s take Oshita and go to the pack house. I am not even in the mood for any surprises anymore. Where do we get to sleep, Dalrae?" Odelia asked and Dalrae let out a loud sigh.

They were already drenched in the rain, one of them had fainted while the other had been saved from questions by this very rain.

As much as they wanted to pretend that they didn’t like the idea of Kaia being the reason Kim Rania was happy, they had to admit that she was happy with him. She knew him and trusted him.

It was almost like they had a connection with each other, but how was that to be explained to the common man? How the fuck were they supposed to explain to the whole realm that the psycho was mated to the worst of them all?

"They took Oshita with them. Come along, let’s not get sick in the rain."

"Yeah, let’s go get some rest."
