Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 190: Maybe He Wasn’t So Bad
[RANIA]
"Sire, he’s been sitting there for thirty minutes without saying a word. He just showed up with his bunny. The poor thing cried till the life went out of it and he didn’t even stop. He’s strange," Kylian said and Chang Wook just nodded at him in acknowledgment.
"Get your warriors out of the gates and take everyone back into Incayon. Tell the people to lock their doors and not come out no matter what happens," Han Seong said.
Kaia let out a scoff, lifting his head for the first time to look at the two friends who were not moved by anything he was doing. It was like that didn’t mean shit to them when in fact it was getting them thinking overtime.
Han Seong didn’t even bother responding to the man who had just scoffed. If Kaia had been a regular wolf, Han Seong would have tried to threaten him, but Kaia was Kaia. So there was just nothing he could do.
"Alright sire," Kylian said before he and the other warriors left the gates. It was a precautionary measure and Kaia was amused by it.
However, he didn’t say a word, while he watched them.
"You cannot hide from me. I am getting through these gates one way or the other. You choose whether you’ll open them, or I’ll blow them up and walk right in," Kaia said as he continued eating his bunny.
He was almost done, and it seemed like now that Han and Chang Wook were taking precautionary measures, he was getting more excited. The warriors on the other hand were still creeped up by the man and we’re determined to not be collateral damage.
"No one is hiding from you, Kaia. What are you doing here and what do you want? I never thought you’d be kind to attack people when they’re down," Han Seong said and Kaia let out a laugh.
Surely the high priest didn’t think that the bastard of the realm had some humanity, no? It was an absurdity in itself and if they weren’t careful they would get hurt even more. Kaia didn’t care about that.
"That’s pathetic. You trying to stoop to humanity you know I don’t have is hilarious," Kaia said, stopping his meal midway.
"Oh, really? I think I touched a nerve. You even stopped eating. I’d say I’m doing pretty well, Kaia, however pathetic, don’t you think?" Han taunted as he watched the feared man of the realm just smirk at him.
It was unsettling but Han Seong didn’t give two shits about that.
Instead, he watched the man with the same stiff eyes, holding Kaia’s gaze like that was the only interesting thing about the evening.
The high priest of the valley of the whites was daring the barbarian and while it may have been a nice watch, there were people whose lives would be collateral damage if they didn’t stop. And maybe that was also why Chang Wook figured it was time for him to intervene.
"I don’t know if you’ve noticed, Han, but you’re riling him up and there’s no telling what he will do. This isn’t the best time for this, whatever err the two of you are doing," Chang Wook said to the two of them, though it was more to Han than the man beyond their gates.
If this continued then they wouldn’t know what Kaia was doing here and why he was being this carefree. Then again it wasn’t like Kaia was about to make them a happy meal anyway, they just needed to brave it.
"He won’t do shit—" Han Seong said but Chang Wook wasn’t about to take that chance this time.
"No. I don’t care what it is between the two of you but focus on Incayon and why he is here."
"I knew it. Not all the Kims are stupid assholes," Kaia said and that got the attention of Chang Wook though it didn’t surprise him.
Kaia always knew everything about everyone so this just wasn’t shocking anymore.
"What do you want, Kaia?" Han Seong said, clearly done with the bullshitting of the man before them.
He couldn’t take this any longer, and he wanted to go get some rest and some food. However, that wasn’t going to be possible, not with Kaia standing here at the gates and making everyone panic.
"Fine, you’re no fun. I’m here because of Kim Rania. Now before you start threatening me and telling me that she is seeping and whatnot. I must remind you that I am not leaving until I see her, no matter where she is.
"I know she is here and I know she is in her room. Now you can either call her or get to look at me for the next hour, after which I’ll be done with my sweet little bunny and I’ll start feeding on your Incayon wolves.
"Hurry along, hmm," Kaia said and Chang Wook just sighed.
He wanted to warn Kaia, but he knew that it was pointless, so he figured that maybe he would try to be civilized with the villain who was a villain because he liked being one. It all just didn’t make any sense but that was an addition to the long list of impossibles for Kaia.
Chang Wook had tried thinking of what it could have been that could get Rania to even know Kaia Seto but he didn’t have the slightest clue.
"She’s sleeping. You know she’s been in battle the whole day so you must also be aware that she had been straining herself for long. I know that doesn’t mean shit to you, but my sister needs to rest.
"Even just for a moment, she needs to take a break from everything—" Chang Wook said and Kaia looked at him, and this time, his eyes weren’t holding any spite or anything. His eyes were soft, which was weird because Kaia Seto and emotions were never a thing.
This man was not even worthy of discussing the fate of people because he was always doing terrible things at his pace. He never cared who got hurt in the process, as long as he got what he wanted, and right now that seemed to be Rania.
But what was with the change on his face?
"Let her sleep. Just tell her I’m at the gates when she wakes up. I won’t do anything to your people, don’t worry. I’m here for Rania and no one else. So go, leave me here.
"Unless you want to bring me people to feast on, which I don’t really mind," Kaia said softly before his voice hardened at the end. He was confusing Chang Wook and this wasn’t what the man had signed up for.
But then no one ever signed up for a meeting with Kaia Seto in any way.
"You expect us to trust you at the gates alone? Is that what you expect of us?" Chang Wook asked and Kaia let out an empty laugh.
"You shouldn’t trust me. Besides, I just murdered the whole battalion that the king had sent to kill Rania and you. Jisung and his bastards never made it to the Obren palace," Kaia said.
Before Han and Chang Wook could say a word, Kaia cast a spell that took them back to where they had been earlier.
The hall.
And he was left at the gates of Incayon, alone.
