"But what would he want? What could he be so patient about? If he’s eating a bunny, it also means that we have until he finishes feasting on his bunny before we can know what he wants. No one interrupts him when he eats.

"At least we have a few hours—" Han Seong said and Darrell spoke up, again.

The situation wasn’t comforting in any way and right now they were standing between fire and fire.

On one hand, was the fact that Incayon didn’t have a sane Rani and there was a chance that she would wake up with a million questions on what the fuck she was doing in Incayon and on the other hand was the barbarian at their ages.

Incayon sure did know how to pick its psychos because what the fuck was even going on right now? It was just insane on all levels and disturbing as hell.

This wasn’t what they had all subscribed to, but then again no one had ever willingly agreed to subscribe to Kaia Seto. No one.

"I don’t mean to be a pessimist, but at the rate he is eating, we could have an hour at most. Besides, Kylian says he’s almost done eating the bunny," Darrell said and for a moment Dalrae wanted to tell the warrior to shut the fuck up, but would that even solve anything?

They were on a tight schedule and their strongest psycho was asleep. It was just hard to tell what would happen anyway.

"Han and I will go see what he wants. Meanwhile, you all need to think. He didn’t come with weapons. And as much as he never needs them, we have to believe that he comes in peace.

"I know how absurd that sounds but it’s the only way to make sure that Incayon doesn’t go to war twice in one day. Our wounded haven’t even healed yet and we can’t have more soldiers on the side," Chang Wook said and Han Seong nodded in agreement.

He and the Vikings were strong enough to hold their own against the psycho at their gates for at least two hours. That was enough time for them to have brainstormed and hopefully, Rani would have been awake by then.

That was a lot of hoping on their side but what else could they do?

Kaia Seto was a disaster that wasn’t to be taken lightly.

"Be careful out there. As you said, we don’t know what he wants. If you need backup, we will come, even if we have to trigger sleeping abilities," Paloma said as she looked at Dalrae.

Of course, they all thought she was talking about Kim Rania laying softly in her bed, but Paloma wasn’t talking about Rania at all.

She was thinking about someone else, someone who would save them without lifting a hand, but for now, they would choose to trust that things would be alright. Besides, it wasn’t too much to hope for, right?

"We will. Don’t worry," Han Seong said even though he didn’t believe his own words. This was disastrous in every possible way but he was choosing to have hope. For a man who always believed that hope was toxic, Han Seong was willing to give hope a chance today.

"Alright, go on then. We wouldn’t want to keep the devil waiting," Dalrae said and they just nodded at each other before Chang Wook and Han Seong made their way to the gates.

On their way there they couldn’t help but think of the way Incayon had stood up with Rania. It was unexpected but even then they had fought like they wanted to win.

Han Seong had noticed that they were all angry but not with Rania which was weird and unexpected. Then again the whole day had been a shit show from the beginning.

Han Seong was sure that there were some wolves who hadn’t yet processed the fact that Kim Rani was back home yet. It all seemed so confusing and stressful, which was understandable.

It was obvious that some of the wolves were triggered by the presence of rogues in their homes. Some of these rogues were people who had been banished from Incayon for dangerous reasons and yet they were now back home like they hadn’t been forced out earlier.

It brought to life the certainty of the Incayon security but then there was one thing that the Incayon wolves were forgetting.

They were at their safest right now with Rania back home.

Everyone in the realm knew that there were just two ways to get Kim Rania to mark you as a target that she would never forgive, one that she would forever ruin. One of them was to mess with her Dalrae, and another was to try and threaten her Incayon.

She loved this place so much and its people and even the rogues knew that. They weren’t stupid enough to try and fuck with Kim Rania’s people. That would be the dumbest thing they ever did.

However, even with all that, they all couldn’t ignore the psychological issues that could have been triggered. It was sad but they just had to hold on. It was the only way for them really because this time they needed the help they could get.

"When are you planning on telling her that she’s your sister?" Han Seong asked as they got closer to the gates.

"Because if I tell her right now she would be more worried about losing someone so important to her. She would be obsessed with meowing me safe and she would sneak out and try to fight her battles on her own to protect me.

"I can’t have her doing that. I’ll tell her eventually when all of this is over. Hopefully, it will be over soon because I just want to hold her like the precious sister she is," Chang Wook responded and Han Seong patted his arm gently.

They were all stuck in some loop of secrets and the dress of whether to tell Rania or not. There was a lot but maybe they would all be free of the secrets soon too, right?

"You know her so well," Han Seong said and Chang Wook just shrugged.

"Well there’s Kaia, the devil himself at our gates," Han Seong added before the both of them changed from their soft faces to cold emotionless faces.

Kaia looked unbothered and he wasn’t even looking excited to get through the Incayon gates.

Instead, he was just eating his bunny in silence, seated on the ground that had been littered with blood from the battle earlier. Even that didn’t seem to bother him, which made the two friends wonder what the hell ever bothered Kaia Seto.

"Sire, he’s been sitting there for thirty minutes without saying a word. He just showed up with his bunny. The poor thing cried till the life went out of it and he didn’t even stop. He’s strange," Kylian said and Chang Wook just nodded at him in acknowledgment.

"Get your warriors out of the gates and take everyone back into Incayon. Tell the people to lock their doors and not come out no matter what happens," Han Seong said and Kaia let out a scoff.
