Chapter 188: Kaia Seto, Humanity’s Greatest Evil

[RANIA]

"Beta, we have a problem. Kaia Seto is at our gates" Darrel said to the team of misfits, instantly shutting them up and leaving the warrior wondering what the fuck was going to happen if the man was here.

Oh, but Kaia Seto was a psychopath.

He was the psychopath of psychopaths.

He was the devil of devils, and he was the problem of all problems.

In simple terms, Kaia Seto was worse than the devil and he was the man whose name sent chills down the spines of even the strongest and most lethal.

Kaia Seto was the definition of bad news.

And Kaia Seto was at the gates of Incayon.

"Impossible," Dalrae breathed out shakily as she looked at her friends who were wearing the same face as her. It just didn’t make any sense to have the devil of all the devils at their gates like that.

They hadn’t done anything that would warrant the presence of the barbaric man and honestly, that worried them all.

"Did the king send him?" Chang Wook asked rhetorically, though Darrel who was still panicky as fuck, looked at the Viking in the hope that the Viking would be able to know why Kaia Seto was at their gates, but this time, even Chang Wook didn’t have a reason.

He couldn’t think straight. He couldn’t figure out what would bring the man to their gates like that.

"No, he hates all kings. Kaia hates everyone and everything, anyone that breathes, any creature that exists pisses him off. He is the one man who cares about non one and loves no one, he definitely is only loyal to himself.

"And he hates errands, so he isn’t here at anyone’s behest," Han Seong said, making the team even more worried.

If the man was like that, then why the hell was he here, and what the fuck was he doing at the gates of Incayon? Had he come to avenge someone?

As a man of vengeance, Kaia was easily the cruelest of all creatures to ever exist. He belonged to no race; he wasn’t human but he had all the abilities of all the creatures in the realm.

He was terrible news and if there was a day when magic was the curse for everyone, then it surely had to be the day that Kaia Seto was born. That man was worse than the devil himself.

"He’s eating a live bunny like he’s eating fried chicken," Darrel said and Dalrae just sighed. What the hell was a man like that doing here? They had so many questions.

If Chang Wook was bad, if Rania was a psycho, and if the werewolf king was the bastard and a danger to everyone, then Kaia Seto was the one everyone they all ran from.

He killed because he wanted to and felt like it.

He hated everything and hated even himself.

He was a monster in so many ways that everyone including the most powerful of kings had steered clear of him. Everyone knew that wherever Kaia Seto went, death followed and now it seemed like he had chosen Incayon of all the places.

"A bunny? That’s strange," Queen Paloma said and they all agreed.

The man was all sorts of barbaric and insensible but coming to Incayon, a place that had just had war barely a few hours ago, and that too with a live bunny that he was eating, was just insane.

But then that would have been surprising if Kaia Seto wasn’t the humanized form of insanity.

This man was so bad that even the goddess was probably sick of him.

"Damn. What do we do now? If he is here then it means he has a war with us. The man hasn’t been seen for so many years and he finally showed up here of all the places? What the fuck is happening?" Dalrae asked, sighing defeatedly.

"Maybe we should wake Rani up. She always has a way of knowing things. Maybe she would know why the fuck Kaia Seto is here, right?" Oshita suggested, all traces of mischief gone from his voice.

He was now a warrior, one that was ready to protect his rogues and the Incayon warriors. But the thing about Kaia was that no one would ever protect the other from Kaia. Kaia was a sociopath, a psychopath, and everything that involved cruelty.

He was the kind of bad that got all the factions hoping to never come across him.

"The spell I cast on her was to keep her asleep for twelve hours. So even if she knows what happened and why Kaia is here, we wouldn’t be able to know at least for the next seven hours—" Chang Wook began.

Dalrae looked at Darrel who was shaking before them. She was aware that Kaia was a terrible man and she knew that he would ruin things. but then again, the fact that he was with a bunny this time, was somehow making Dalrae have some hope.

"Has he done anything since he showed up?" Paloma asked and Darrel shook his head.

"No, he hasn’t. He has just been eating his bunny slowly, ignoring the cries of the poor animal. How can he even eat it when it’s still alive and screaming in pain?

"That man is weird as hell and cruel," Darrel said, clearly finding the man’s behavior so unsettling, but that wasn’t the issue here. The issue was that he was at the gates of Incayon and he hadn’t done anything.

They all were aware of the horrors of the man who had fed his parents’ bodies to his pregnant sister, and when his sister declined to eat his parents’ bodies, he dragged his sister by the belly in circles using his magic, until his sister died.

"And then Kaia fed on her sister’s fetus. The sight was so gross and unimaginable that those that had seen him, had sworn to never eat anything that had blood on it.

"They had forfeited meat of all kinds and had steered clear of pregnant creatures because of the trauma they had gotten from what Kaia did.

Oh Kaia, was really really bad and ruthless.

"That has to mean something. If he hasn’t tried to even trigger the wolves, then he is waiting. But for what? What could have happened that had him come peacefully to Incayon like that? And what does he want?

"This is so frustrating," Dalrae said and Chang Wook smiled sadly at her. He could tell that everything was so burdensome even though they were all here.

With Rania passed out, and the Kims being assholes, there was no telling what could happen right now. The man was so terrible that any conversation with him would make the realm collapse and steer even clear of Obren.

And he was narcissistic as fuck, so it just didn’t make any sense.

"But what would he want? What could he be so patient about? If he’s eating a bunny, it also means that we have until he finishes feasting on his bunny before we can know what he wants. No one interrupts him when he eats.

"At least we have a few hours—" Han Seong said and Darrell spoke up, again.

"I don’t mean to be a pessimist, but at the rate he is eating, we could have an hour at most."
