Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 187: Great, Another One
[RANIA]
"We don’t mind standing with her or going to her wars, but you must also understand that Incayon is home to many wolves. All of us can’t always be going to war. We have children, men and women among us.
"We have the vulnerable and older ones like me who will not be able to go with you to war. We understand her, but the only thing we ask is for you not to rush the decision. Give us until tomorrow, and we’ll have decided then."
Dalrae looked at her wolves and she felt like they were right.
Of course, they were.
She was asking them for things that even she wasn’t sure she would love the answers to, and yet as she stayed with them there, as Dalrae looked at the warriors in that hall, she understood the skepticism that came with Rania.
She wasn’t going to fault her people for wanting more time to think about what was good and right for the kingdom. She wasn’t going to fault them for choosing peace and for wanting to be home.
She wasn’t going to do that and maybe that made her a carefree beta, or even a leader that didn’t think beyond the scope, but Dalrae was a woman of her word and she was going to make sure to keep it.
"I understand, I truly do. I will let you decide, but please let me know what you think by morning, so I can know how to plan. We are all citizens of Incayon, and peace in our home will always be my greatest wish for us.
"I wouldn’t send us to our deaths," Dalrae responded earnestly, and Chang Wook who was watching her smiled gleefully. He couldn’t help but enjoy watching Dalrae from a distance and while he wasn’t sure what it was, his team of psychos sure had an idea.
But none of them was going to tell him.
They wanted him to learn some things on his own, as only then would he ever be able to grow out of the pain and the horrors of the past. But would Lim Dalrae be a pain to Chang Wook or would she be the one reason that he woke up and wanted to see a happy day?
"Thank you," the old man said before he went back to where he had been seated. Dalrae was watching her people in awe and was thankful that this time, life wasn’t going to be filled with crazy choices.
She knew that tomorrow would be a better day for the and while the king was probably going to be coming after them for what had happened earlier today, Dalrae knew that they would be ready by then.
"Great. Now that all of that is sorted, I will go to my second agenda today. The unforeseen circumstances of the day saw us have allies that helped us in the battle earlier.
"As such, I expect you to treat our visitors with the utmost respect and like you would any visitors of the alpha. I know they are from different races, but let it be known that anyone who treats my visitors like shit, will have to face the consequences as per the law governing the pack.
"That is a polite reminder as I have seen the way some of you looked at the rogue warriors and their queen, despite the fact that they saved the lives of our children and families. This is not a request.
"With all that, you are dismissed and I hope the rest of the evening goes by well for all of us," Dalrae said and the wolves just nodded in understanding before they slowly started to make their way out of the hall.
The rogue warriors walked out with them too, leaving the group of misfits looking at Dalrae in awe.
It wasn’t hard to tell that she had been hanging around Dalrae too much, but Paloma also knew something that could have easily contributed to the authority in Dalrae’s voice.
However, that wasn’t her secret to tell and until Kim Rania was ready to share that with Dlarae, Paloma would protect the secret with her life.
"That was awesome. But I’m still hungry. My heart hurts from the hunger that my stomach is going through right now. I feel like I could even faint right now.
"Please feed me, pretty please, Lim Dalrae, please save this son of the soil?" Oshita said and as dramatic as he sounded, he was right. Everyone here hadn’t eaten shit since morning and that was a whole twelve hours ago.
Nothing seemed to have worked for them at the moment but goddamn, food would really work miracles. Sure they had so many responsibilities and had to take care of their friends in the process, but they couldn’t do that if they were hungry, right?
"This time I agree with Oshita," Odelia said as she looked at the man who was staring at her like the world was finally starting to make more sense to him.
It was almost like Oshita was the bible of joy covered in stupidity, but then he was a joy nonetheless, and for that, Odelia and the team would always appreciate him.
"Me too. Though I want to try and not be a dramatic ass as Oshita," Han Seong added and Oshita just showed them his tongue.
"Fine, fine. Let’s go eat. Rania should also come to eat with us. I’ll wake her up—" Dalrae said but she was interrupted by everyone refusing.
"No, don’t!" they all said, and that got Dalrae curious.
Her best friend hadn’t eaten since the battle and knowing Rania, she was probably awake in her room thinking of a hundred ways to get out of the tiny hole that her brother had locked her up in. Then again, it wasn’t like she was tapped, right?
"Jeez, that’s scary. Are all of you agreeing on something? That’s wild. Why shouldn’t I wake her up though? She hadn’t eaten since morning and I’m pretty sure the previous night, she and Chang Wook were busy rolling in hay at Calindra.
"So why not?" Dalrae said making sure to mention the hay like it was a taboo. Expectedly, Chang Wook sighed as he looked at the woman who was obviously having fun torturing him with the memories of things he wanted to forget instantly.
Then again, Rania and Dalrae were birds of a feather and Chang Wook would have to face that truth more times than he would ever be prepared for.
"She hasn’t slept for three months, let her sleep," Han Seong said so casually and Dalrae turned to look at Chang Wook who had been with the woman in all the three months that she had been banished.
Surely Chang Wook didn’t put her sister through pain in the human lands, right?
"I’m sorry, what the fuck does that mean? What the fuck do you mean she hasn’t slept for three months? What the hell was she doing then and why the fuck didn’t she sleep then?
"What happened while the both of you were out there and when the fuck did she stop sleeping?" Dalrae asked and clearly, her questions had answers that were so delicate.
They were answers that could get the whole team running in different directions so they could all reach their kill targets at the same time, but then they had to be patient and trust Kim Rania.
They had to wait for the moment when she decided that it was alright for them to go after those targets.
Only then would they leave but until then, they would be stuck in the waiting line of all the chaos and madness that was Kim Rania and her shenanigans.
"Honestly, the long version is really long so I’ll give the simpler and shorter version. She hasn’t slept in three months because she was strategizing and thinking of ways to make Jihoon’s life miserable.
"I didn’t know he was her mate, and now that I do, I finally understand. Can we go eat first before we can talk about the forbidden things in this hall? I think Oshita might fall on the floor if we aren’t careful," Chang Wok said and Dalrae just sighed.
She wasn’t sure why she had expected a better explanation, but they were all right. They needed to eat before the next batch of chaos stemmed in.
But even before they could say anything, Darrel was back in the hall and he looked like he had seen the devil himself.
"Beta, we have a problem. Kaia Seto is at our gates."
