"What the hell are you guys doing?" Jisung said to his warriors who had turned against him and were pointing their weapons at him.

This wasn’t the plan and he definitely hadn’t imagined that he would be the one they are going to attack. Surely they had eyes and could see that Kim Rania was here with them and was their primary target, no?

As if that wasn’t bad enough. Jisung could hear the sound of weapons clashing against each other. That was definitely from the warriors he had sent to surround Incayon. Oh, but he had miscalculated a lot.

From what he could see and hear, the whole of Incayon, the same pack he had counted on, had stepped forward to defend Rania.

The strongest pack in the realm had come to defend their daughter and the only thing Jisung could try to do was to try and run, but even that was impossible given that he was surrounded by warriors he wasn’t even sure were on his side in the first place.

One by one he watched as the warriors that were around him pointed arms at themselves while most at him. It was then that he realized that he had never won the race. He had never had an advantage over Rania from the very beginning.

The Warriors got off their horses and dumped their helmets, not to mention the armor they were wearing, to reveal fully studded Incayon warriors ready to pop off heads.

"Hello, Jisung, I hear you wanted to see me," Dalrae said amidst the clashing sound of weapons they could all hear. It was haunting and a little too much but what else could Jisung do other than admit that he had been bested?

Then again the king had a standing order and there was only one outcome for this mission. The king wanted Rani and Chang Wook’s body. Whether they were dead or alive and that was inevitable.

Jisung had to try and accomplish his mission. He was the king’s best for a reason but would it really work this time? Even as he stared at the warriors around Rani and Dalrae, would he really win this time?

"Alpha Dalrae. What is the meaning of this?" Jisung asked and Dalrae just scoffed at him. She knew better than to fall for Jisung’s words. They meant nothing because they would clearly try to betray her in the end.

"I’m Beta Dalrae. As I have always been and will continue to be for Incayon. You wanted the alpha and now you got her. Won’t you try to tell her what you wanted to tell me when you thought I was the alpha?

"The people you sent to surround Incayon have been murdered, or are in the process of being murdered. The warriors you were so proud of how you stepped forward, are either dead or being threatened.

"You can see for yourself how many Incayon warriors are having the weapons on your end, it seems to me like you have everything to lose today, Jisung," Dalrae said as Rani just tsked amusedly.

She knew that taking out the other packs’ warriors was just the beginning and that was why it was easy to infiltrate the battalion.

However, the crown’s warriors were not going to go down easily. They had been here more than once and honestly the only thing that was left was for them to continue the fight. They had orders to kill and they had to go through with it.

"I see you’ve all been brainwashed by the woman and her acquaintance. In that case, you leave me no choice but to fight to the death. If you win, then you will have your lives but if we win. We’ll be taking Rania and the Viking warrior whether you like it or not.

"Dead or alive, that’s non-negotiable," Jisung said as he pulled out his weapon and got ready to fight. He wasn’t going back to his master empty-handed.

"Well, then you’re smarter than they give you credit for. May the best one win, yeah?" Rania said as she walked to the gates and opened them. She was letting Jisung know that there was no turning back this time, no matter what happened.

She was done hiding and since the Incayon wolves had chosen to stand by her, she was at her best. She was going to teach these warriors what it meant to go to war against Kim Rania. She wasn’t going to forgive and she definitely wasn’t going to forget anything.

"Charge!!" Daehyun said as he followed his Luna to the enemies who were there.

Rania didn’t want Daehyun to be implicated and she also didn’t want anyone outside of her wolves knowing that she was the Calindra Luna. She would let the world know when she was ready and not a minute later.

That was also why she had made sure Daehyun had worn armor and a helmet that covered him.

He was a good warrior and he would always be, but for now, since he was going against the crown and that too for Rania, Rania wanted his identity protected. He would be her hidden knight, one who was still in plain sight too.

"You heard him!!!’ ’Rani cheered on as the fight officially began. It was going to be gruesome and they were about to love it either way. And so the warriors fought with Rani taking on Jisung on her own.

She was aware he was well trained but so was Kim Rania. She had fought her battles and won, not to mention she had Daehyun, Dalrae, and Chang Wook by her side. She had won this fight automatically and there was even a point in anyone trying to question it.

For hours it was a fight between all the warriors sent against Rania, and the warriors of Incayon alongside Rania herself. Sure, Incayon may have been having a smaller number of warriors compared to the warriors who had turned up for Rania’s bounty, but they were efficient.

It was intense and scary with blood rushing all over.

As they continued, a few Incayon warriors fell and Jisung figured that he would go and fight the other warriors and save Rania for last, but he was stopped by the horror of the whole realm. The one creature that shouldn’t have ever existed.

The Odelia troll.

This time, the darling Odelia wasn’t in her human form, no. She was in her true form and boy was she scary as hell. The warriors who were still fighting took a look at the troll and they saw their lives flash before them.

Odelia was huge.

She was stronger and she looked like a giant beast; even the Incayon wolves were scared of her. Hell, everyone including Daehyun was scared of the woman. She looked like she could fuck up someone so bad and they wouldn’t be able to do shit about it.

For a few minutes after Odelia had shown up, the fighting slowed as the warriors took in the sight before them.

Jisung let out a sigh of relief as he saw the Odelia troll make her way toward Kim Rania. Odelia looked scary and terrible. So when Jisung saw her reach Rania, he prayed a silent prayer to the goddess thanking her for giving them help.

But this time, with the huge bounty that the king had offered, was Odelia against Rania or for her?
