Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 175: You Wanted The Alpha, No?
[RANIA]
"Bring her out, Kylian. Tell that damned little shit of a rogue that we want her. Call your alpha and let her know that we just want Kim Rania and that Viking warrior.
"That is all we want and we can leave Incayon alone," Jisung, the king’s best warrior said to Kylian who was staring at him with a bored face.
It was like he had been used to listening to people like Jisung, and today was no different. The sun had started showing and it was obvious that the day was going to be a little longer than they had hoped for when they went to bed the previous night.
"Tell Alpha Dalrae to bring the two delinquents out and we won’t fight you guys. If you don’t bring them out, then we will be forced to break through the Incayon gates and find her, which won’t be a pretty sight.
"You might be the strongest warriors in the realm, but we have an army bigger than yours, so think, Kylian, think," Jisung added and Kylian didn’t even say a word.
Instead, he and the warriors who had lined up as the pack’s first line of defense just looked at them like they were wasting their time coming to Incayon for Rania. It was strange and even Jisung was shocked at the reaction.
Given the information out there, the pack’s first line of defense coming to Rani’s rescue had not been what he had expected, but maybe they were protecting Incayon, right?
"Or is she your prisoner too? I mean she’s a lot of work and the king will definitely know what to do with her, y’know," Jisung said and this time, Kylian was curious to know what Kim Rania had done.
She had just told everyone that the king wanted her dead, but she hadn’t told them why the king wanted her and her brother dead.
They hadn’t asked and even if they wanted to, there had been a lot of information dumped on them that they didn’t have the time to process it all. Perhaps this was a time to ask and know what it was that got Rani running back home to the place she wasn’t wanted, right?
"Why does the king want her? What did she do for all the packs to send their warriors? All we heard was to prepare warriors to go after Kim Rania—
"—but no one said anything about what she did," Kylian said, hoping that Jisung would be straight with him and tell him what the woman had done. Surely it wasn’t too much for him to ask, right?
If anything, that would determine whether the Incayon warriors would defend Rani to give her up to the waiting warriors, no?
"She murdered the royal first contingent in the throne room. She threatened the king. She stole a few important documents and she triggered a war between Obren and the rogues. Should we continue?" Jisung said and Kylian let out a sigh.
A war between Obren and Paloma? That was insane because the rogues were like killing machines. Rania knew that too and she wouldn’t have done that.
Then again, Kylian had seen how Paloma and Dalrae talked about the truth months ago, and frankly, he could sense that Paloma was Rani’s ally and not an enemy.
Kim Rania was complicated and it was hard to understand her, though Kylian knew that Rani wouldn’t waste time getting herself in trouble if it meant defending the people she loved. That was the one standing truth for her and everyone knew that.
So whatever it was that she had done to the king, surely the king had to have threatened someone important to her.
"The royal contingent is the strongest team of warriors. So it doesn’t make any sense that they were bested by Kim Rania. Or are you guys that weak?" Kylian said, clearly trying to buy the Incayon warriors sometime.
He didn’t care what it was that Rania had done really. What he cared about was where he would point his weapon and if Dalrae had trusted Rania enough to keep the alpha position open for her, then someone had to be lying. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Someone had to have committed a crime so great that Lim Dalrae would never forgive.
Leaving the alpha position open in the realm was the biggest fuck you to the crown, and Lim Dalrae wouldn’t go against the rules for anything. She was a law-abiding citizen of Obren, and that in itself raised so many questions.
"You’re stalling, for that psychotic bitch?" Jisung asked disbelievingly. Clearly, he had underestimated the hate that the Incayon wolves had for Rani, right? Or was that it?
"Surround Incayon. Make sure you cover all the entrances and exits, every possible border. Make sure that none of them leave until we have Rania and that warrior.
"Take the children if you must, I don’t care what you do, to get me Kim Rania and that Viking warrior," Jisung said as the warriors of Incayon made way for someone to come through.
They were orderly, and at first, Jisung assumed that it was Lim Dalrae, given Lim Lim was supposed to be the Incayon alpha.
"Finally your alpha shows up to tell us where Kim Rania is," Jisung said when he saw the silhouette of a woman in the armor that was headed through the space that the warriors had made for her to walk through.
He was excited to make a negotiation with Dalrae, just as the king had told him. He had been told to give Dalrae whatever she wanted as long as she outed Rania and Chang Wook.
Clearly, Jisung was hoping for that.
He was so excited that he got off of his horse and made his way to the see-through gates, ready to negotiate. but when the woman stopped and took off her helmet, Jisung instinctively took a few steps back.
"Alpha," Kylian and the warriors greeted Rania respectfully when she finally showed her face to them and everyone else there.
"Kim Rania—" Jisung breathed out, as he looked at the woman he was supposed to capture.
It was one thing to wish to capture Rani, but it was another seeing her fully armed like she was ready to mutilate their bodies and send them back to the king.
The Incayon warriors casually closing the gap she had left, and the more warriors at the back, armed to the teeth to defend her, made Jisung stare disbelievingly.
"I want to talk to Dalrae, not you," Jisung said as he looked at the woman before him.
He was not sure what was expected of him because the fact that Incayon had allowed Rani to dress up in her armor meant that they were letting her back in.
They were never going to fight Rani and Jisung realized a little too late after he had sent warriors to surround Incayon.
He had been fooled.
"Retreat! Everyone retreat! Fall back and get yourselves to safety!" Jisung shouted but there was nowhere to run.
Instead, his warriors had turned on him; something that shocked him even more than the fact that Kim Rania was alive, was in Incayon and accepted by the very pack that was known for their blatant hatred for the woman.
"What the hell are you guys doing?"
