Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 169: You Abandoned Me, All Of You [1]
[RANIA]
"You say something. Maybe she will believe you," Rani said, as she nudged Chang Wook, and Dalrae just sighed, again.
"Y’know what, I don’t even want to deal with the both of you right now. And you smell like horses, goddamn. Wait, hold on.
"Why do you both smell like horse shit?" Dalrae asked and Rani scratched her head, like she was thinking of an explanation. However, before Rani could respond, Chang Wook spoke.
"We were in Calindra for Jihoon. We confirmed that Yanna went to Calindra yesterday and was imprisoned by Alpha Jihoon. It doesn’t make any sense for the alpha to imprison his mate, who is supposed to be dead, according to the punishment Rani was given.
"We somehow ended up at the stables while hiding from their warriors who thankfully didn’t notice we were there. So yes, we smell like horses because Rani thought it would be a good idea to hide with the horses instead of letting me create a portal out of Calindra.
"There, you have the explanation," Chang Wook said and the pack broke into snickers at how foolish the duo sounded. They had of course heard the rumors on Yanna, but now that they could see these two they knew that nothing was alright.
"Really now?" Dalrae said as she looked at them with scrutinizing eyes.
She had been around these two long enough to know they could make up any lie and try to get away with it.
However, she also knew that Rania had promised to never come back home until she had cleared her name but this didn’t look anything like her having cleared her name. Something was not right and Dalrae was slowly believing the story about the horse stables.
But then again, why would Rania go to Jihoon?
As the Incayon wolves processed the information they had heard form Chang Wook, Rania’s parents were at the back, pretending like they weren’t glad their daughter and son were back home and well.
They were acting like they really didn’t have children and that should have mattered to Rani, but she was done acting. Her parents could trip on acid and Rani would make them erode well.
They had been terrible to her for reasons that Rani didn’t know and nothing could make up for the emptiness that KimRania had been left with throughout the years.
"I came home, because I need an army, Dalrae. The war is no longer coming, war is here and only those that are prepared will be able to make it through the long battles.
"The storm finally caught up, sister, and in the next few days and months or even years, nothing will ever be the same in Obren," Rani said to her sister who understood her.
Dalrae didn’t have a problem with her sister coming home, she was glad that Rani was here. But she also knew that she was an alpha one that needed to be able to protect her people from what was coming.
Rania was right, everything was certainly going to be different for a long while and they needed an army that could fight. A good army that could brave the dangers and an army that was undefeated for years.
And there was no army better than the Incayon army over the years. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"Why should we help you? You lied to us. You made everyone ridicule us. You made a mess and if you want to clean it, you can do it on your own. Besides, you’re not our alpha. Alpha Dalrae is the alpha and we will follow her, not you," one angry wolf said and the crowd nodded.
Of course, Rania hadn’t expected that she would be welcomed with open arms just because she had come with a truth that she had kept for years.
The truth about Yanna’s survival was one that she would have to explain later, because the immediate problem right now wasn’t Yanna Petrova Park.
Their problem was a king who was using his ass as his brain and two delinquents who had figured it was a good idea to rile up that same king who could ruin them easily. At least they wouldn’t go down without a fight, right?
Well, Rania knew that it would be unfair of her, to expect much from her people, but then that was what her life had been turned into. She had to figure out a way to make things right or risk being the laughing-stock again.
"You all should have trusted me. I have never done anything to wrong the pack. You all were too quick to switch sides just because I supposedly killed Yanna. All of you know how sacred the mate bond is.
"You hated me for ’killing her,’ and yet none of you even lifted a finger when my mate’s bond was manipulated—" Rania began and another wolf scoffed at her statement.
It was almost like she wanted their pity, but that wasn’t what Rania wanted. She was telling them the truth, because she was tired of holding onto things that hurt her all the time. She was trying to survive and she was going to, as always anyway.
"You were a strong alpha, weren’t you?" someone said and Rania looked at the Incayon wolves like she couldn’t believe this bunch of wolves. Surely they couldn’t think that she was trying to win their pity right?
She wasn’t here for pity and if they wouldn’t listen to her then she could as well force them. It was either easy or hard and Rania was game for any choice the wolves of Incayon had made. she wasn’t going to lose this time.
"Funny how you say that, when you all shunned me for being the girl who was always rejected, year in and year out. Even if I was strong, at the end of the day, I was just a humane werewolf, one who could feel things, and your rejection, broke me in so many ways.
"You guys didn’t stop to ask what was happening and why I was suddenly getting so many mates from different packs. You were just there for the show, the thrill of watching another man and woman show up to reject Kim Rania.
"I was there for you bunch of ungrateful wolves. I fought wars for you even those that you didn’t know of. I protected you because you people were more important to me than anything else in the world.
"And yet when the time came for you to stand up for me. When the time came for you to tell the world that I wasn’t a murderer, that I hadn’t gone feral and psycho, you all stayed quiet like I was a stranger to you.
"You people watched my world crumble and instead of helping me back up, you treated me like I was the enemy, like I was the one who wanted to burn your world down. You treated me like my world meant nothing to you, when in reality, you guys were my world.
"You were everything I adored. You were my family, my home, and sadly you were the first people to point fingers when the accusations came rolling, you abandoned me when I needed you the most."
