Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 168: Would It Be Worth It?
[RANIA]
"You?" Darell asked when he saw Kim Rania and the Vikings from the festival.
He had so many questions, obviously, but Rania wasn’t in the mood to answer any of them. So she just commanded them to get out of her way because she had other things to worry about.
Strangely enough, her alpha voice was enough to get the wolves to do what she wanted, which was also suspicious, given that she had been banished and declared a rogue.
Then again, Kim Rania was an innocent in the trial so the banishment didn’t affect her power as much.
In fact, it made her stronger and even more psychotic.
"Tell Dalrae I’m home and wake everyone up. We don’t have the time for greetings and pleasantries alright" Rani said, the emotionless face she was wearing reminding the warriors that their pack had grown stronger because of this woman.
She had taught them what they knew and yet even then they were sure they would never be able to outsmart her. So defeatedly, the three warriors woke the whole pack up.
Of course, at the mention of Kim Rania coming back home, everyone was curious to know what was happening, so they rushed to the assembly, not even waiting to be told to go there.
"We already called them," the warriors said to Rania, as they looked at her skeptically. They could tell that she hadn’t come here to fight them. If that had been the case then she wouldn’t have bothered to knock.
The fact that Kim Rania had been in a hurry and was still at the Incayon gates, waiting for Lim Dalrae, was also another proof that she didn’t want war.
She had come in peace, but would the wolves welcome their own alpha, the one they had cheered while the king had banished her ruthlessly?
Would they really try to empathize with her to make her understand that sometimes life was always going to be full of shit decisions and sober people who were always drunk?
"Thank you. You can relax. I didn’t come to wage war with you people," Rania said and strangely, they just nodded at her.
Their weapons were ready in their arms and they looked like they would take Kim Rania out if she tried anything, and Rania understood them.
She had been away for three months and that wasn’t enough for the warriors to forget their training and just welcome her home with open arms regardless of the circumstances that had gotten them to this point.
"Oh, I’m killing you," a familiar voice spoke, and instinctively, Kim Rania pushed her brother in front of her, so that the Viking warrior would be shielding her from imminent attack. It was almost a pointless battle, but then Rani knew she had to try her chances this time.
Dalrae would kick her ass for waking her up this early.
Lim Dalrae was the first to wake up at the mention of her sister. She hadn’t bothered to wake anyone up. In fact, she had found her way down to the gates, while still in her pajamas and flip-flops.
She looked like a zombie, with her hair sprawled all over her face. The angry look on her face and the smile she was wearing were contrasting, but at least anyone could see that she was glad to see Rania.
Lim Dalrae had worked so hard to convince Rani to not go back to the human lands and now that her sister was here, she was truly glad. However, that was not a good enough reason for Dalrae to not kill Rania for waking her up at dawn.
"I didn’t mean to wake you up, Lim Lim. I swear! It was Chang Wook’s idea!" Rani said as she maintained her position behind the warrior who knew that he would not be winning this time.
He was standing between the two women and he knew that he was the one who was going to get hurt in the end, so he figured he could as well throw Rani under the bus to save his skin.
"I didn’t. She said she wanted to be here for breakfast," Chang Wook said mischievously while Dalrae just glared at him. She was clearly not buying their bullshit and slowly, Rania was realizing it.
Well, she had to come out anyway, right?
"You two ruined my sleep in the pretense of fucking breakfast? You didn’t get well fed wherever you were or what? And in which world are the Incayon kitchens open at six o’clock in the fucking morning???
"Now you both better have a good fucking explanation or the both of you will run four hundred laps in the forest and I’ll be counting," Dalrae said, ignoring the gas of the wolves who had come to see why they had been woken up.
Four hundred laps this early in the morning was a death sentence, considering they were all hugging themselves to keep warm. It was just a cruel punishment, but then they knew Dalrae would make the pack run too if they whined on Rania and Chang Wook’s behalf.
They were alone this time.
Sure, they had been told that Kim Rania was back, but they hadn’t expected the Viking warrior to make a show, and that too in their pack with Rania.
It was all so confusing, but the fact that Lim Dalrae wasn’t even surprised to see them went on to say a lot about what was happening. So they all just watched.
"Lim Lim—"
"I’ll count down from three, Rani. One of you better start talking," Dalrae said and Chang Wook graciously pulled Rani from behind him and put her between him and Dalrae, making Rania facepalm.
"Yanna is alive—" Rania started and Dalrae rolled her eyes at her.
"Tell me something I don’t know, Kim Rania," Dalrae said, ignoring the hush-hush sounds from her pack members.
She had no way of telling them that Yanna was alive and there were high chances that they wouldn’t believe her and would probably accuse her of defending a murderer.
Maybe it was a good thing that Daehyun had already started spreading the word about Yanna being in Calindra.
"Seojoon wants to kill us because we may have murdered his warriors and well, we didn’t have anywhere to go," Rani said and Dalrae stared at her like that wasn’t a good enough reason for these two to wake her up.
"Good for him, because I want to kill you for waking me at six o’clock in the morning. And you woke the whole pack while at it. You really have no mercy, Kim Rania," Dalrae said and Rania just face-palmed.
This wasn’t the time for her sister to be dramatic, but then she knew that Dalrae was still processing the fact that Rani was back in the Incayon lands and alive.
Dalrae was obviously not sure what she had expected, but this was way better than the forest her sister had been living in for the past week. Maybe this time, Rania would let her join the fun, right? But that was once again, Dalrae just hoping for the impossible.
"You say something. Maybe she will believe you," Rani said, as she nudged Chang Wook, and Dalrae just sighed, again.
"We were in Calindra for Jihoon."
