Chapter 155: Siblings From Hell

[RANIA]

"Kim Rania, and Kim Chang Wook. What a good day to be seeing the Kim siblings," Jungwoo greeted with a knowing smirk.

The unspoken truce that Rani and Jungwoo had been in during the festival had clearly come to an end.

Right now they were staring at each other, one as the crown prince and the other as a rogue wolf with a companion. Their friendship should have been able to smoothen things out for them but then here they were.

At the mention of their sibling bond, Chang Wook glared at Jungwoo in warning.

He wanted to be the one to explain to Rania what their bond actually was. He wanted to make her understand why he couldn’t tell her before and more than anything, Chang Wook knew that it was never Jungwoos secret to tell.

The crown prince was clearly walking on thin ice, especially with a topic so sensitive.

"This is not the time for you to be having balls, Jungwoo. You didn’t have them when you needed to, and standing before me like this is a terrible idea. If it makes you feel any better, I know Chang Wook is my brother," Rania said, making the men let out gasps.

It was almost like they were doing something that was forbidden and yet for some reason none of them was sure they were on the same page with Rani. If they truly were, then it would be a tragedy, one that none could explain in the few hours they had.

"What?" Jungwoo asked while Chang Wook stared like he was ready with an explanation. He was fucked in so many ways and right now maybe killing Seojoon would be the easiest way to appease Rani.

"I gave him that last name. So yeah he’s my brother. If you’re done telling the obvious, get out of the way. My business is with your father. I doubt he already told anyone that the royal seal is missing.

"If you try to block me, then trust me, the whole of Obren will know of the carelessness of their mighty king who couldn’t give a fuck about his people’s safety," Rania warned and Jungwoo juts stares at her in shock while Chnag Wook let out a sigh of relief.

She didn’t know the whole truth and that meant that he had more time to plan his confession well.

Looking at Jungwoo, Chang Wook was pissed. This bastard had tried to spill his secret and it didn’t sit right with him. He also knew that his sister would try to defend her ass of a best friend, so Chang Wook acted fast.

He rushed to Jungwoo and forced him to sleep by cutting off his airways. It was all so fast, but not enough for Rani to be shocked.

"He’s unconscious and will probably wake up in thrifty minutes. Come along let’s veg back on track," Rani said as she walked towards the Obren palace castle.

The warriors had seen what Chang Wook had done and had also accidentally seen his scorpion tattoo. It was a tattoo that symbolizes the unity of the crown’s elite warriors. That could also explain why the warriors had stepped back when they saw it.

This man knew all the protocols and was honestly smart for taking out the prince.

"But—"

"These warriors may have stopped because for some reason, but it doesn’t mean that all the warriors will feel the same. We have to get to the king, and no, we are not splitting up," Rani said before Chang Wook could even let out a word.

So he nodded silently before he followed her into the palace.

They could sense the magic around it but then that didn’t matter because the big palace before them was not their interest. They just wanted the werewolf king and they would have him.

As Rania and her brother walked into the castle, not even bothering to hide, the king was on high alert. He had been made aware of what Chang Wook had done to his son and what Rani had done to his warriors.

He was anxious and rightfully so, after all, he had always been the one in the wrong. So he sat in his throne room, even though he knew his seal had been stolen a week ago. The kingdom didn’t know that yet and he would buy some time while his people made another one for him.

The only thing that could cause problems, was that the Obren royal seal was one of a kind and could only be replicated by someone who had seen it and could see it at the time of replication. But that wasn’t what Seojoon had.

’The worst they can do is tell me to vacate my seat, right?’ the werewolf king said to himself when he heard footsteps making their way to his throne room.

He had heard his warriors cry out in pain barely seconds ago, probably because they had denied the siblings access. He had to prepare himself even though just like the first time he had encountered the siblings, he knew that nothing would ever be the same.

"Your highness..." Rani greeted in a singsong voice as she pushed open the huge throne room doors. They were a little heavy but with her brother’s help, she finally had the access she needed.

Her voice was sinister and daring, something that King Seojoon was slowly coming to terms with. This woman’s voice haunted him more than the mistakes of his past.

He always thought that having her banished was the best decision for the realm but right now he wasn’t sure what angered Kim Rania even more.

"No that won’t work. Maybe we could try calling him Seojoon oppa," Chang Wook taunted as he listened to the great King’s erratic heartbeats. For a powerful king, Seojoon felt so powerless.

"Alright then. Let me try it. Yeah?" Rani said with a smile as they walked to the king.

Whoever said it was lonely at the top must have seen the broken terrified king, a man who was so confident to his people and the other factions and yet in front of the Kim siblings he was just a shell of who he once was.

Maybe Obren was cursed for creating the most dangerous of monsters but what if that was the kingdom’s greatest assurance that their leaders would be doing a good job eventually?

"Seojoon oppa?" Rani said, cringing at how the king’s name sounded on her lips. It was like she was eating shit right now and she hated it.

"Nope, I’mma stick to Seojoon," Rani said when they finally reached the king.

"Aww, he’s sweating, how beautiful," Rani said in a cold voice when she notices the cold streaks on the face of the most powerful man in Obren. He looked different and Rania wondered why Eunbi wasn’t here to keep her king company.

But then again there were chances that the queen had been taken to safety to avoid getting clawed apart by Kim Rania. Well, it was a smart move regardless.

"What do you want?" King Seojoon asked and Chang Wook let out a knowing laugh, the kind that told the king that he knew something that the great Seojoon didn’t.

"We just came to say hello, and tell you that we are not leaving Obren whether you like it or not. We could have done it from afar but seeing you this pressed makes it all worth it.

"Anyway long story short, we came to make sure you lift the rogue status we both have, and reinstate us as wolves of Obren. Pretty simple, right?" Rani said like she wasn’t asking the king to go back on his word.

There were extreme repercussions to such a request and the king needed to think very carefully, though from the looks on the Kim siblings’ faces, he didn’t have a lot of time.

"You’re crazy if you think I would let you bastards back into the kingdom," the king said and Rani chuckled.

"I knew you’d say something like that which is why I stole your royal seal," Rani said casually like she didn’t commit a crime against the crown. Then again this very crown had committed so many crimes against the citizens of Obren.

It was just different now because Kim Rania had decided to not go down without a fight.

"You’re bluffing," the king said.

"Am I?" Rani said with a dark chuckle while her brother got out the peace treaty Obren had signed with the rogues in the years that had passed.

"I haven’t been in the kingdom for long, but you can see here that your royal seal was used to declare war on Paloma’s rogues, right?"
