Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 107: I’ll Be Back Soon
[RANIA]
"HER? Do you mean who I think you mean?" Paloma asked, almost like she wasn’t sure it was a good idea anymore.
Rania had gone through hell and so much had already happened, but looking for that woman would make everything chaotic.
It would turn Rania into a woman they wouldn’t even be able to reach. It would make her into a devilish saint, a woman fueled by anger and a desire to protect her people, even if her people had banished her.
It would turn Rania into the kind of danger that they needed to stay away from but also the girl they needed to listen to more than they had ever done.
"Yes... but not now. I know what you’re thinking and believe me, I’ve been thinking the same too.
For now, we just let her go with Chang Wook, and then together, we will figure out what to do next later. Besides, if we stay distracted from our factions for long there will be questions and they will start looking into us which won’t be good for Rania in any way.
We need to be able to protect her like she would protect us, we need to make sure that no one talks about her leaving or even thinking of her departure. We have to trust in the fates, after all, she will always be back here, with her destiny," Han Seong said and Odelia nodded along with the team.
They knew how dangerous it was but then they were not afraid of making things happen for Rania. However even then, they wanted her to be happy, but how the hell was Rania supposed to be happy away from her home?
"Fine, let’s go to sleep then," Paloma said but Han Seong just shook his head. He wasn’t feeling sleepy; he hadn’t even had enough sleep from the moment he found out why Rania had killed Yanna.
It had kept him awake for long, but more than anything, it had fueled him with the desire to protect the young alpha with his life.
In the morning that followed, they all knew it was time to say their goodbyes. They had always been used to simple goodbyes, but there was something about this one that made their lives feel a little strained.
What were they supposed to do without Rania?
How were they supposed to pe without the little light that the woman shone in their lives? How were they supposed to protect her when she was leaving them and more than anything, how were they supposed to pretend that obren hadn’t hurt one of their own in the worst of ways?
It was all just so chaotic and crazy and frankly, it wasn’t what they had wanted when they had slowly joined hands with Rania years ago. Maybe they would find a way, but one thing that was certain was the fact that they would have to face new realities and harsh ones too.
They just had to learn to be patient until then.
"This is goodbye, my love," Paloma said to Rania who was just smiling at them all sadly. She knew this wasn’t the easiest thing for them to do, considering they had been her allies on the low for years.
They had never thought that there would come such a day, but then the people of Obren had made their decision. They had banished the one woman who would probably keep them safe, and with Rania gone, Odelia had no reason to hold back against Obren anymore.
The only person she had promised to keep safe was Dalrae in Obren. Other than that, Odelia was going to go back to the monster the people of Obren had made her into. She would terrorize them and make them pay for banishing Rania and Rania could see the anger in Odelia’s face.
She was painfully aware that there was nothing she could do to stop her friends from lashing out, because they had been patient with Obren all this while. She just hoped that they wouldn’t hurt themselves in the process, because that would beat the purpose of all that they were doing.
They would be okay, eventually, and they would probably learn to cope, but maybe they just needed motivation for this, yeah?
"I’ll see you guys soon, in three months’ time. Besides, we all know Dalrae would abandon the pack to come with me, so I gotta keep my end of the bargain anyway," Rania said and they all just sighed.
She was braving all of this alone, despite having been abandoned by her parents. The Kims had done the worst to their child and frankly, if Rania decided to go abc and burn Incayon, Paloma and the team would gladly be there for her. She deserved all the love in the world.
"Take care of her, Wook, if anything happens to her, I will come for your neck," Odelia said with a smile, like she was talking about the weather.
She was not joking though, and Chang Wook knew that too. This woman loved Rania, because of her own reasons, but it was understandable because they all wanted the best for the rebellious psycho.
She was love, she was kindness and yet at the same time, Kim Rania was madness reincarnated. She was everything bad and good at the same time and her friends loved her for that.
"You guys are talking as if I’m going to another realm," Rania scolded, before she realized that it was actually true. The reality was hitting her a little too hard, but she wasn’t going to falter before her friends.
She wasn’t going to let them see how much her heart was bleeding at the moment. She had to be strong. Because only then, would she be able to come back home. Otherwise, she would probably end up in the human prisons or on their most wanted list.
"Okay I get it, I’m going to another realm, but we all know I can always pop by anytime, yeah?" Rania said and Han Seong rolled his eyes at her. They knew her so well and they knew that if Dalrae hadn’t given her an ultimatum, she wouldn’t even have sought out Chang Wook.
They would have all just heard that she was banished and that she had already disappeared. She was that determined to leave home and never look back, besides, it wasn’t like Obren had given her a reason to come back anyway.
"I’ll be okay... you guys don’t need to worry. I’ll be with Chang Wook and if anything happens, we know he can protect me and have my back," Rania said and they just sighed. They could only hope that things were right with the two of them. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
There was a long unpredictable road ahead of them and they could only wish that things didn’t hurt Rania. Then again, they needed to be ready for when she called because then they would go to war for her and with her.
"Lock her up if you must, but please keep her out of trouble. She’s been through so much at her young age and it breaks my heart knowing there’s nothing I can do for her right now," Oshita said and Rania almost choked on air.
She had never imagined that Oshita of all the people would get emotional, but then maybe she was the one who hadn’t fully comprehended the fact that he had been kicked out of home, had lost a mate, had no best friend to tag along with and what was even worse, her parents had disowned her right before the king declared her a rogue.
She was unfortunate in all the possible ways and even then she was still smiling.
"I think I should leave before Oshita ties himself to me. It would be a heavy task, given how huge he is," Rania said and they all burst out laughing, though the happiness didn’t reach their eyes.
It was pain that kept them sane and now, the least they could do was force themselves to say goodbye again.
"Be careful out there you two and if you need anything, just reach out to us. We will always be available," Han Seong said sincerely before they all hugged Rania and Chang Wook and bid their goodbyes.
It hadn’t been easy, seeing them go separate ways, but they all knew that this was for the best, and more than anything Rania was excited that she finally got her freedom even if the price she had paid was so huge.
"I’ll be back soon, I promise," Rania said one last time, when they finally disappeared.
