Master of Dominion-Chapter 82: Iyvre vs Withered husk
Just as the celestial sword was about to pierce through the Withered husk’s skull, it slightly tilted its head to the side, causing the beam to swoosh past its head and cut a part of its robust shoulders. It directed its once-dazed eyes, now focused, onto Iyvre.
This made Iyvre glower at the vermin that seemed to have succumbed to or overcome that thing’s control. And as if confirming her thoughts, the vermin raised its head high as a loud, guttural shriek resounded from both the maw on its head and the bigger maw on its belly.
It charged into the fray, stomping upon the bodies of the Withered spawns in its way. It moved its eight-meter bloated form with fast ferocity, quickly reaching Iyvre, who immediately darted backwards, putting as much distance as she could from the vermin while cutting through many Withered spawns in her way.
But then the Withered husk rose, standing on its two bony, disfigured hind legs. This caused the wide opening at its belly,a jagged maw to spit out countless tentacles with sharpened greenish tips that followed after Iyvre. She summoned the celestial sword just as a tentacle was about to stab at her, cutting off its tip; yet she pivoted her body to the left, dodging several more that swooshed past her and dug several feets into the ground where she’d just stood.
Iyvre slashed her blade vertically, clashing her steel against the sharpened tips of the tentacles, but the force behind them pushed her backwards. She used the momentum to backroll, making a white beam cut through the Withered spawns that were about to pounce on her.
She immediately leaped upwards, landing her two feet on the upper branches of a tree before kicking off, using the momentum to leap toward the Withered husk. Dodging all its tentacles, she brought her white-hot blade heavily down on it.
Clang!
Her blade clashed with the spiky carapace that protected the Withered husk, stopping her blade and leaving her vulnerable mid-air. It caught her off guard, but just as the Withered husk’s giant maw and its tentacles were about to clamp down on her, she suddenly glowed bright white, making the maw bite down on empty space.
She appeared a few meters away, skidding to a stop. She slowly looked down at her blade, only to see that even through her aether coating the weapon, the steel itself seemed to be rusting at an astonishing pace.
Iyvre looked up again at the Withered husk, which had come down on all fours now as it shut its giant maw, swallowing the tentacles. Only for them to project out of its back, merging and accumulating into six longer and bigger tentacles with poisonous, scorpion-like stings dripping sizzling green liquid.
Iyvre’s cold eyes flashed more ruthlessly as the celestial sword hovered to her left side with another one forming to her right. She took a battle stance with the still-rusting blade raised high. She watched as, alongside swarms of Withered spawns, the Withered husk charged toward her.
She watched as they swarmed closer until they were a few feets away. She dashed forward, becoming a blur with two beams following right behind her moving her glowing blade with such fluidity that any Withered that lunged for her was dissected into several pieces, her two celestial swords flashed continuously around her.
CLANG! CLANG! SPLANG!
The two beams clashed multiple times with the extending tentacles of the Withered husk. Iyvre made sure to avoid direct confrontation with the Withered husk, making her movement illusory while cutting through the swarm.
The resounding force of the clash of her celestial swords with the tentacles was telling enough of the damage they would cause if even one grazed her not to mention the green liquid that only her celestial swords, made of aether, could resist.
But the Withered husk wasn’t about to play by her rules as it lunged at her, its tentacles clashing and stopping the two white beams from getting closer to it.
Iyvre leaped up, dodging its clamping maw before bringing down her leg, pouring aether into it and stomping heavily on its massive head, smashing it to the ground. But then she immediately backflipped, using her blade to parry a tentacle that had struck toward her.
Though she parried the attack, the force behind the tentacle sent her flying and slamming into a tree trunk, shattering it into countless splinters.
While still mid-air,she twisted her body, slashing her blade upward and cutting down three Withered bats that had scooped down from above, Iyvre landed on her feet immediately.
She breathed heavily as she brought the blade to her eye level, seeing the rust overcome it. She tossed it to her side, sending it into the body of a Withered bat.
"Huff." She calmed her breathing as the two celestial swords returned to her sides. She knew she couldn’t hold the celestial swords herself, but she didn’t need to; in fact, being weaponless made her focus more on her control of the aether swords.
So she crouched low, sending aether toward her legs and arms in a low battle stance, with the two celestial swords anchored above her, their pointed tips directed at the charging Withered husk.
Swoosh!
She lunged, pivoting her body to the side as she swung her right hand downwards, causing one of the celestial swords to follow that movement. It weaved through the Withered spawns before ducking a tentacle sweep and piercing into the side of the Withered husk, the sword raked across the creature’s back, breaking through its bony carapace.
Iyvre dive-rolled to the side, twisting her body at an odd angle to dodge two tentacles that pierced the ground right in front of her. She cleaved her left hand upwards, making the other celestial sword cut through the exposed softer sides of the tentacles, slicing the latter half of the two tentacles.
She spun around and raised her leg in a roundhouse kick, sending two vermins flying. She ducked to the side as a tentacle swooshed past her face, cleaving again and cutting through its exposed sides.
She then leaped as high as she could, narrowly dodging the Withered husk’s jagged maw. Seeing this as an opportunity, she sent a celestial sword downwards, causing it to pierce right through the snout of the Withered husk and through its lower jaw, pinning it to the ground. Immediately landing behind it and she willed the celestial sword to detonate.
BOOM!
The explosion tore through most of the Withered husk’s head, making it recoil with a shriek, but Iyvre had already summoned the last celestial sword, sending it twirling from side to side making the spinning blade easily decapitate the Withered husk from shoulder to head.
