Shaan and Nalira slowly stepped backward, trying to put distance between themselves and the Blue Lizard as it crept closer. Damn it. Neither of them expected a Blue Lizard to spot them. Shaan had felt certain they would escape this bloodthirsty creature.

"We have no choice but to fight it." Shaan crossed his two short swords, preparing to launch an attack. "Robin Hood, help me while—"

"No." Nalira swung her sword to the side. "I’ll fight this creature."

She narrowed her eyes. "I’ll draw its attention. You need to get out of here and chase Chelsie."

"Nalira... are you sure?"

Nalira nodded firmly. "The longer we hesitate, the more danger Chelsie faces."

Shaan was silent for a moment. What Nalira said was true; if they both stayed here, Chelsie’s life would most likely be in danger. One of them had to save Chelsie as quickly as possible.

Carmen appeared in an instant and rushed forward, throwing herself between Chelsie and the sudden attack. However, the mysterious figure’s strike carried overwhelming force. The blow sent Carmen flying back, leaving her badly injured.

Chelsie slumped forward, completely helpless against the assault. The mysterious figure seized the opening and lifted his blade again, preparing to end her life with a single downward slash.

"Sh-Shaan?" Chelsie slowly lifted her head, tears welling in her eyes as she looked at him.

"Chelsie, get away from here!" Shaan shouted as he blocked the relentless strikes from the mysterious figure. "Now—run!"

Chelsie immediately pushed herself up and sprinted away from the mysterious figure. For now, she had reached a safe distance, and that allowed Shaan to focus fully on his opponent.

Robin Hood fired several arrows in rapid succession toward the mysterious figure. However, the enemy moved with incredible agility and dodged every single shot without suffering even a scratch.
