Marvel: Umbrella Corporation-Chapter 151: The Great Battle Begins
Chapter 151 - The Great Battle Begins
Upon hearing the name, the Red Devil was momentarily speechless.
If the person before him weren't Cassandra, he would have slapped them without hesitation.
But, unfortunately, she was someone he couldn't defeat, so he had no choice but to turn his attention to the representatives of various nations.
Seeing this, the representatives immediately began explaining the situation.
After listening, the Red Devil felt even more exasperated. All this trouble over a mere singer? And they wanted him to take action?
However, under Cassandra's predatory gaze, he reluctantly nodded and disappeared from sight.
"Wait for my good news."
Hearing this, Cassandra finally smiled and glanced at the people around her, "Why did you stop? Keep dancing! Keep playing the music!"
The crowd immediately resumed their singing and dancing.
Satisfied, Cassandra continued drinking and indulging in the feast before her. The representatives of various nations, however, shook their heads in disappointment.
But with their leaders under Cassandra's control and the formation of a Middle Eastern alliance to free themselves from American influence—something they had long desired—they were willing to overlook her extravagance.
As long as she could drive the Americans out, the future of the Middle East would be in 'their' hands.
This woman? All she needed was fine food, good wine, and entertainment. How much could one person possibly consume?
That was the consensus among the alliance's leadership.
They would keep Cassandra satisfied and let her fight at the front lines, securing their freedom.
If she succeeded, it would be ideal.
And if she failed? They could simply abandon her and continue their carefree lives.
With this mindset, the representatives displayed great tolerance toward Cassandra's whims.
........
Nightfall arrived quickly~
After watching a full day of performances, Cassandra felt a rare sense of exhaustion and dismissed the entertainers.
Though her psychic power was formidable, her physical body remained human—something that annoyed her greatly.
"Has Azazel returned?"
A subordinate quickly and respectfully replied, "Boss, he hasn't come back yet."
Cassandra waved impatiently, "I'm going to sleep. If he returns, tell him to wait until I wake up."
With that, she staggered toward the stairs, still tipsy. But just then, the entire hotel shook violently, sending her tumbling to the ground.
"Am I that drunk?"
She shook her head and stood up.
At that moment, a subordinate rushed in, panicked, "Boss! Bad news—someone's attacking us!"
Hearing this, Cassandra instantly forced the drunken haze from her mind, her eyes flashing with fury.
"Who? Where?"
"In the sky—right outside!"

Cassandra immediately extended her vast psychic power beyond the hotel's walls. In the next moment, she sensed it—a massive airborne warship hovering above.
She disappeared in an instant.
Seconds later, a barrage of missiles rained down, striking the hotel.
*BOOOM!*
Explosions roared as the structure began to collapse. Screams filled the air as civilians and weaker mutants scrambled in panic.
"Help!"
"An earthquake?!"
"Somebody save me!"
From a safe distance, Cassandra's expression darkened as she watched her hotel crumble.
Among the falling debris, she noticed a mutant with color-changing hair desperately clutching a woman and two men as they plummeted.
'Huh? People have gotten that adventurous these days?'
More missiles followed, bombarding the remains of the hotel.
*BOOM! BOOM!*
The once-grand structure was reduced to rubble.
Cassandra knew, without a doubt, that all the civilians inside—including the representatives—were dead, "Damn bastards... I swear, I'm about to destroy this planet again!"
She didn't care about the celebrities or the diplomats.
She cared about the food and wine she hadn't finished! All those rare delicacies, wasted!
.........
A few minutes later, several mutants gathered around her. Among them were Logan, Victor, Lorna, Erik, and Juggernaut.
But under Cassandra's psychic control, their minds were dulled, their expressions blank. They stood in complete silence.
Several more minutes passed.
Helicopters appeared overhead, slowly descending.
A group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents disembarked.
However, after previous conflicts, their numbers had dwindled, and their movements were no longer as disciplined.
Most of them were fresh recruits.
Then, from the helicopters, familiar figures emerged—Natasha, Barton, May, Daisy, Coulson.
Each of them wore a specialized headpiece—an Umbrella Corporation device designed to block psychic manipulation.
Before Natasha could speak, the experienced May stepped forward.
"Miss Nova, surrender now. On behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D., I can offer you a pardon from the death penalty."
Cassandra laughed in pure rage.
"You destroyed my hotel, killed my people, and now you have the audacity to demand my surrender?"
She scoffed, her expression darkening.
"Have I gone too long without killing anyone? Is that why you think I've gone soft?"
She raised a hand toward a nearby agent.
*SQUELCH!*
In an instant, his flesh was stripped from his bones, leaving only a skeleton standing.
The agent's final expression was one of sheer disbelief.
The remaining S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives immediately raised their electromagnetic rifles and fired.
*ZAP-ZAP-ZAP!*
But before the bullets could reach their target, they froze midair.
Lorna and Erik had intervened.
Maria turned to Daisy, "It's your turn."
Daisy nodded, her body crackling with power. She punched the ground, sending a devastating shockwave straight toward Cassandra.
But Cassandra simply vanished, evading the attack.
Instead, the powerful tremor struck Lorna and Erik.
Their delayed reaction cost them—despite hastily forming a metal shield, they were blasted dozens of meters away, losing consciousness.
With the two metal manipulators down, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents resumed firing.
However, they deliberately avoided aiming at Logan and Victor, knowing they were merely being controlled.
But when the two feral mutants charged forward, Natasha had no choice but to act.
She raised her electromagnetic rifle and pulled the trigger.
*ZAP-ZAP-ZAP!*
The energy rounds struck Logan and Victor, sending them flying.
