Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 40: Unknown caller
"You are such an idiot!" Gabriel’s voice thundered against the four square walls of the enclosed room as he scolded his goons especially Henry Cavill.
"You were so clumsy, now the police have an evidence from the scene proving you were responsible for the kidnap and somehow they were able to find out that you are working for me.
"You almost incriminated me you douchebag. Fortunately, I was able to get away with my great acting skills," Gabriel continued, elaborating on the issue.
"I’m very sorry boss," Henry apologized.
"You should be careful from now on, posters of you are everywhere. There’s a bounty of five million on your head," Gabriel informed.
"Yes boss." Henry responded.
"How’s the scumbag doing? I hope you didn’t dare give him any food or water?" Gabriel asked, inquiring about Davian.
"For what boss, we didn’t, as instructed," Henry said.
"Good." Gabriel replied.
"He’s so weak now boss, I think he will be giving up the ghost soon," one of the other men laughed.
They all joined him, even Gabriel laughed too.
"Good to hear. If he’s about to finally die and I’m not around, inform me immediately. He needs to know and look into the eyes of the man sending him out of this world." Gabriel said.
"Okay boss. But why don’t we just finish him up now?" Henry asked.
Gabriel glared at him; "Are you telling me what to do?" he questioned.
"No boss," Henry replied on his toes.
"Better be. I’m still having fun watching him in pain." Gabriel added, a sadistic grin on his smug looking face.

It’s been days, days since Davian’s kidnap.
Silvia was at the bar section of her house as she helped herself with a few shots. Her phone rang.
"Unknown number," she murmured.
She picked it up; "Hello," she said.
{Hello}
A man’s voice said from the other line.
"Who is this please?" she asked.
{This is one of the numbers from the posters right? The wanted poster for a Henry Cavill with a five million bounty?}
"Uh, yes, yes!" Silvia responded immediately.
{I saw him. It was him I’m not mistaken. He usually comes to get supplies from my grocery store}
"Okay, okay. Where are you? I’ll come to you first. If what you’re saying is true, that man won’t be far away from your location," Silvia inquired immediately, not thinking twice if it could be a trap.
{My grocery store is just at Bluewoods at a gas station. It wouldn’t be that hard to find because it’s the only gas station in my vicinity, I’ll direct you through the phone}
Bluewoods? That was way far off, at the very outskirts of Asteria, perfect place to hide a kidnap victim, how could they not have thought of that?!
Good thing the posters were spread to every nook and crook and cranny of Asteria, but it will take more than a hour to get there. But she will still do it, if it means seeing Davian again.
"Okay. I’m on my way." she said and hanged up.
She grabbed her car keys immediately and walked out of her house. She entered her car and sped off with the speed of light.
...
It took her exactly two hours to get there and even a hour more to locate the grocery store with the help of the unknown caller.
She sees why this place was called Bluewoods, it was a forest settlement, perfect for camping. There were still roads, houses, schools, buildings, industries and other amenities and facilities an urban area could ever have. It was far from just being called a rural town.
"Hi," Silvia said as she got off her car.
The owner of the grocery store had already come out immediately he spotted her car.
"Hello," he said, he was about sixty.
"(Gasp) I know you. You are Silvia Reyes, owner of one of the biggest business industries in Asteria," a young girl gosh. She looked about sixteen or seventeen with neat blonde hair.
"Shush, Cassidy. Go back to the store," the man shooed her away.
"Alright, Grans," the girl pouted and walked back in.
"Please, don’t mind my granddaughter. Is what she said true?" he inquired though.
"Yes," Silvia replied.
"Oh I see. The man you are searching for has bought supplies from my store twice now and he usually comes in the evening.
"I didn’t recognize him at first but my granddaughter did the second time, which was yesterday evening. Why are you searching for the man? Is he a criminal?" he asked.
"Yes, a dangerous one," Silvia responded patiently.
"Oh my. We can’t have a criminal ruin the peace of this town. At least now you know he’s most likely to be here," the man mentioned.
"Which way did he go? I need to find him urgently," Silvia said.
"You alone? Didn’t you just say he was a dangerous criminal? It will be wise to look for him with the police," he advised.
"You don’t have to worry, I don’t want to look for him alone. I’ll inform the police asap and wait for their arrival, then we’ll apprehend him if and once he truly shows up." she responded.
"Okay, i-if you say so. He went west and he normally comes by 6 or 7pm for the two times he has come to get supplies," he affirmed.
"Okay," she responded and turned to leave.
"Hey, wait...Ms. Reyes you said?" the man stopped her. She halted and turned to face him.
"Don’t forget about the bounty once you’ve caught him, hehe," he laughed awkwardly.
"That money will really go a long way for my granddaughter’s tuition," he added.
"You have nothing to worry about Mr..." she trailed off inquiring for his name.
"Oh, my apologies, where are my manners? Mr. Joe Crocker," he smiled.
"Okay, Mr. Joe. You don’t have to worry, the money will be given to you once we’ve caught the man. Even if another person catches him too, you will still be rewarded for your contributions, I promise you." she said and began to walk towards her car.
"Okay, thank you," he said.
She nodded, "Uhm, I will call the police now. Is it okay if I park somewhere around here?"
"Yes, of course," he replied.
"Okay."
Silvia entered her car and drove off to park not too far from the gas station but at a range where if that criminal arrives, he won’t be able to spot her car.
She unlocks her phone, it was just 4pm. She dialed the number of the detective, John Parker.
{Hello, Ms. Reyes}
"Hello, Mr. Parker. I received a call from an unknown caller, says he spotted Henry Cavill," she informed.
{What? Really?}
"Yes," she replied.
{Okay. Where are you now?}
"At the location of the unknown caller," Silvia said.
{What?! Ms. Reyes, why do you keep endangering yourself? I specifically told you-}
"This is no time to chastise me, Mr. Parker. I did what was necessary at that moment-"
{What was necessary, was for you to have informed me immediately you received the call, stop acting impulsively Ms. Reyes!}
"Mr. Parker!" she said, in an attempt to remind him of the real matter at hand.
She could hear him sigh.
{Fine. Where are you now?}
"Bluewoods. It’s two hours drive from Central City, so hurry up and get here quickly," she replied.
{That far?!}
"Yes, that far," she responded.
{This isn’t good. What if you get into trouble or something?}
"You don’t have to worry, Mr. Parker. According to the caller who owns a grocery store at a gas station. Henry has come twice to get supplies from him at a time range of 6 to 7pm.
"I suggest that you and your men come here discreetly in normal cars not in your siren ones. Be armed but in civilian clothes." she suggested.
{Why do you suggest so?}
"Because I have a plan. If we apprehend the man immediately we see him, he might not take us to where he’s holding my fiancée captive. These criminals are very loyal like dogs to their master.
"He might not disclose to us Davian’s location and arresting him without getting my fiancée might alert the real boss in charge and he might be forced to finish off my fiancée, if...if he isn’t already...dead," Silvia found it hard to say the last line.
"So I’m suggesting that once you guys arrive here, we’ll all lay low till Henry shows up. If he does, we’ll follow him.
"He might be headed for the place where they must be keeping my fiancée. We’ll arrest him there with his comrades if he has any and rescue my fiancée at the same time," Silvia elaborated.
{Wow Ms. Reyes. You should have been a detective, you’re so strategic} 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Silvia smirked; "Now hurry up and get here asap"
{Okay}
Silvia ended the call. She sighed and walked out of the car to meet up with Mr. Joe who was already inside his store.
"Mr. Joe?" she said.
"Oh Ms. Reyes..." he trails.
"I’ve already informed the police. They’re on their way. If the man on the poster shows up to get supplies from you, attend to him as if you know nothing. I and the police plan on trailing the man if he shows up.
Then we’ll arrest him wherever he makes a stop at because he’s a suspect in a kidnapping case and wherever he ever makes a stop at might be where the kidnapped victim is being held." she elaborated.
"Oh my, kidnapping? You have nothing to worry about, Ms. Reyes. When the time comes, I’ll play my part very well," Joe assured.
"Thank you. Rest assured, the police will be here to protect you and your granddaughter if anything arises," she said and he nodded. She walked out of the store and went back to her car as she waited patiently.
The police were the first to arrive, she had sent the details of her particular location to them. They arrived in the terms they had discussed earlier, no sirens, no uniforms, so that they won’t alert the criminal. They were eight in number including detective John Parker and they arrived in two cars.
They all waited patiently and in no time, Henry Cavill arrived at the gas station in a car to get his usual supplies. Another man could be seen inside the car.
Henry entered the car again once he was done and he began to drive away.
"Follow him!" John instructed when Henry’s car was far away enough so that they could follow him unsuspected.
Silvia trailed after the cars too, even though John had pleaded with her earlier not to involve herself and to leave it to them to handle.
