Married To The Last Ice Dragon-Chapter 96: Demons and Psychopaths
The path to the dungeon was another unknown part of the castle, and the path of the hallway was becoming dimmer and dimmer, leaving only the light from the fire torches as a source of illumination.
Sage fiddled with her fingers as she gazed at the walls, which had changed into rock walls with strange yet beautiful carvings on them.
"Cyrus." Sage called out and took Cyrus’ hand in hers.
"Are you afraid?" He inquired, without looking at her.
"No, it is just that at this rate, I might be compelled to kill Lianna once I see her." Sage couldn’t believe the woman she saw as her aunt, someone who existed in her life even though she only thought about herself, had been deceiving her. She was a Statkus mage? She had killed her mother?
It was all too much for Sage, and she knew she wouldn’t feel anything if she saw her Lianna’s corpse.
"You may if you wish; I only kept her alive for the sake of experimentation and, well, for you to learn her side of everything that had happened." Cyrus said as he clasped his hand around hers.
"I do not understand how she is a Statkus mage." Sage muttered, perplexed.
"You will find out." Cyrus nodded and whispered.
Ashton, who was following the couple, kept his gaze fixed on Cyrus’ shadow. It was much darker than the last time he saw it, which was very disturbing. Sage’s and his shadows appeared normal, but Cyrus’ was anything but normal.
"Cyrus, let her go alone, I want to talk to you," Ashton said as they got closer.
Cyrus and Sage came to a halt, their gaze fixed on the approaching dungeon.
"All right," Cyrus said as he lifted Sage’s hand from his loose grip and kissed her knuckles.
"Go on." He told her calmly, then let go of her hand as she nodded.
Cyrus shifted his gaze to Ashton, who had his hands crossed on his chest, as Sage walked away into the dungeon.
"Your shadow has grown even darker," Ashton observed.
"Looking at my shadow is not going to solve anything." Cyrus laughed.
"But you are not solving anything by being reckless." Ashton chastised.
"You are behaving like Snow. I am not reckless." Cyrus muttered angrily.
"You marked her with the mark of lust out of rage, ignoring the fact that if you fall in love with her, the mark will automatically become the mate mark." Ashton was enraged, but he was careful not to scream at the ice dragon.
"I have no regrets." Cyrus spoke calmly.
Ashton took a deep breath. "You will soon be trapped in your dark state. You will break her heart without even feeling anything, you will emotionally, mentally, and physically harm her, you will kill her Cyrus, and when you return to your normal state, which I hope will happen, you will regret and torture yourself." He was attempting to reason with Cyrus.
"Believe me when I say she is strong." Cyrus spoke confidently.
Ashton shook his head negatively and frowned. "I sincerely hope what you are saying is correct." He muttered something. "In the end, you will still kill her." In frustration, he sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Do not be concerned about me; I already have a parrot, Snow, Venus, and Ares around my neck." Cyrus sighed and leaned back against the wall.
Ashton laughed. "I know," he admitted, sighing.
Cyrus looked at him with narrowed eyes. "What exactly are you concerned about?" Cyrus inquired.
"I am thinking about going to Celestia soon." Ashton abruptly stated.
"You will not dare!" Cyrus snatched his neck and pinned him to the wall. He appeared enraged. "You decided to stop guarding because you wanted to. You would have left me if I hadn’t captured you." He grumbled.
Ashton was an appointed guardian of the mansion deep in the woods that housed Aurora’s ice sculpture.
He was the second prince of hell and the second prince of the kingdom Furibund, which was the kingdom of demons and connected to the underworld.
"He is out, he mind linked me to inform me." As Cyrus tightened his grip around Ashton’s neck, he grunted and winced.
"It does not matter; you are not going to Celestia." Cyrus growled angrily.
"But, he is going to assist Nikolai Novikov in becoming stronger and come...."
"I do not mind. If they want to die before they are supposed to, they will come to Antica." Cyrus hissed and let go of Ashton’s neck.
"You truly want to kill me!" Cyrus’ eyes turned into a silver reptile-like form sharpening with rage as Ashton gasped for air.
Ashton backed away from the enraged ice dragon.
"That psychopath must not enter my kingdom." Cyrus growled, referring to Nikolai Novikov, Celestia’s Alpha heir.
Ashton couldn’t believe what he was hearing and looked at Cyrus.
Cyrus calling someone else a psychopath was completely absurd to him because he himself was a psychopath.
Ashton let out a long sigh.
He wanted to go to Celestia after sensing that his brother had emerged from the underworld, but Cyrus had sensed it as well and had captured him before he could leave, bringing him back to the castle, which was why he was furious with him.
Ashton chuckled to himself as he remembered when the fire mage barged in and removed his hood.
His brother, Rhaziel Petrov, and Nikolai Novikov, like Ashton Petrov and Cyrus Dragos, were like peas in a pod.
Ashton shrugged, erasing any imagined encounter between Cyrus and Nikolai.
If that day came, it would almost certainly be the end of the world.
Ashton cast a glance at Cyrus, who was now lost in thought. "Are you worried about her?" Ashton inquired.
"Stop asking me questions, go away and keep playing your game." Cyrus scoffed at Ashton, turned away, and entered the dungeon.
Ashton smiled, amused. "Not a game, Cyrus Dragos, but reality. Sweet, entertaining, delicious reality." he chuckled as he walked out of the dungeon.
